    I have to say their customer service was EXCELLENT! I got a very prompt response, I have already received a refund for the lye, and my new wax and soap base are on its way. I put the entire box down into a contractors strength trash bag, tied it, and the put it in 2 more! I'm going to contact the trash company and make sure I can put this out for pickup, if not see what I need to do with it. Such a mess, but yes, very thankful no one got hurt! There won't be anymore super harsh chemicals brought into this house for a long long time!!

    I ordered my first shipment of wax from them and received it yesterday, I would be pouring candles today except the lye that I had ordered was busted all over the box, and I ended up trashing everything. I can say they have excellent customer service, and are replacing the entire order. I know several other order from them and have no problems.

    I received a very prompt and apologetic response from The Candle Makers Store, and they have offered to replace the entire order, and I replied that would be great, but keep the lye! I dont want to chance it. This has definitely opened my eyes to how easily these accidents can happen, and if something happen to one of my babies I would never forgive myself. Now, just have to figure out how to dispose of this box!

    I just sent them an email. I still haven't unpacked the box, and I'm wondering if the wax would still be usable? I guess I will wait for them to respond and see what they are going to do about this.

    I think a sweet orange or cranberry scent would be a mixer for gingerbread. I like to add a little fruity mix to those sharp oils!!

    I know things happen in transit, bottles leak, things get broken, but this was seriously human error!! I can't imagine someone just throwing that in there like that!! I felt the burn in my hands, but now I have the lovely smell of vinegar ETA: It's from Candlemakers store.

    I have never had this happen before, and of all things to get busted in a shipment... LYE!! I ordered some with some wax and M&P base, I have never messed with the stuff before, and I was planning on putting it up until I found a recipe I wanted to try. My oldest son opens all my packages for me, he opens it up and says "Mom, there's something all over the box"!! I had him wash his hands real good in a some warm soapy water, is that good enough to get it off his hands?? I cant believe this! They put an 11 lb slab of wax in a box with room to move, and a plastic bottle of lye, no wonder it busted!!:mad:

    I'm going to use the quick cooking oats and ground them up some in my food processor. I have some local honey to use too. I want to keep it simple for my first batch, once I get the hang of things I'll get fancy with it!!

    I have been researching and waiting on shipments, so for the past week I have not poured not 1 thing!! My wax is supposed to be here today, so I'll be back at it tomorrow, and probably will be in there (my kitchen) for the entire day. When I'm not pouring candles, I will be cooking, baking, making menu's, putting the finishing touches on this weekends Fall Festival and working on some lesson plans for my Wednesday night class at church. Everything takes place around the kitchen table

    Here is my recipe: 1 lb white base 1 tbs honey 1/4 c ground oatmeal 1 tbs Oatmeal Milk and Honey FO Will this work? Also do I spray with straight alcohol, like rubbing alcohol? TIA!!

    I started out with 1, and decided to introduce a second and it didn't sell, so I am back to just 1, a pint mason jar, with a rustic lid and a little homespun tied around it.

    They look fantastic! And the color is not too dark at all. My first batch of tarts I put an entire block of dye into 1 lb of wax, let me tell you, those things glowed!! We learn from mistakes, but I think for a newbie, your well on your way to having some awesome tarts!! Great job researching

    I hope it is, she is super great to deal with. I was just looking through the list of FO's, trying so hard not to place an order!! I've got a whole pile of 1 ouncers now that I need to be testing, but man she has so many great scents!!

    The one I use starts with an "A", I just looked, the listed price for 4oz is $5.75, and shipping is $2.75 for 1, but I just go through and commit to buy what I want, send her an email, then she combines shipping and sends me a total, and I pay for all of it at once. She also has some EO's, but I've not bought any of those. She has a ton of scents!! Edited to add: if I cant list her name here I will pm anybody that wants as soon as I can get in my laptop, I'm on my kindle fixing some breakfast Atm!!

    I have done some searches and found her FO's at NG. I think it's usually $5.75 for 4 ounces, and I buy 4 at a time, and it's shipped in a small flat rate box so its like $5 something for shipping. Ive never had a spill, and she always ships super fast! Some of my favs are country bumpkin, Easter bunny burps, vanilla Hazelnut coffee, watermelon taffy, gain mango tango, oh my gosh I could list them all day! And they all have thrown well in paraffin and soy tart blends.

    I'm getting ready to make my first batch of firestarters. I'm using the cedar chip pet bedding that you get from walmart, and I think I am going to pour into my Dixie cups that I use for fo, or into a muffin pan, I haven't decided yet. I'm not selling mine though, I'm making them for my in laws because they heat with wood.

    If I am ordering online I start out with the 1 ozers, but when I go to the local supply I am able to sniff things and decide what I like, then I start out with 8 oz bottles, and if it goes well, ill go back and get lb bottles. When I order from my favorite lady on ebay, I just get the 4 oz bottles, and fortunately I have loved everything ive gotten from her! And it saves me lots of money!!
