  1. I hate most florals except jasmine. It's one of my favorites. Lilac and peach brandy used to keep me in "barf" mode so I don't make those any more.
  2. Thanks so much Barncat. I have sooo much to learn and this info really helps. Thanks again.
  3. Yes, my wicks are primed. Maybe I was just having a bad day cause most of them had bubbles and wet spots. Doesn't pouring too quickly cause bubbles? I think I poured just like I always pour. A few wet spots don't look to bad but these looked really bad. I popped them with a heat gun and they all went away.
  4. I found it!!!! It's amazing what you can find when you do a search!
  5. Where did you find the article? I was very interested in the wholesale marketing thing.
  6. Do most of you rename your scents or just use the name from your supply vendor? I do both but was curious what everyone does.
  7. I forgot to mention that I do tap on my jars to help release air bubble and I do poke relief holes in the 11.5 and 16 oz jars.
  8. Last week I poured several container candles and I have a bunch of wet spots and very teeny tiny bubbles. I use J223 and do not heat my jars..What could have caused this? Never had bubbles like this before and it is on most of them.
  9. She headed that way today and on the way, one of her front tires came off. She had some work done on her truck about a month ago...not sure if they had tire off and didn't tighten all the lugs. She drives Toyoto 4WD and I guess it was a scarey deal. Plus she had my 6 yo grandson with her. She skidded a couple of hundred feet and then came to a halt which was quit a stop since she has lift kit on truck. But anyway...We lived in the Longview area for about 12 yrs and then moved to Arkansas:sad2: She has lived here almost a year and is ready to move back to Gladewater area. I'll miss them but at least when I visit, I can shop at WNW or Wickwares and write off the trip.
  10. Michele, I am needing a good vanilla. Have you tried any vanillas from WNW?
  11. It sounds like a place I don't want to do business with even if they are an hour and a half from here. I have dealt with one company that was not good at returning calls and emails and that did me in. Thanks for the info. Some times you have to go out of your way to find the good ones.
  12. I'd never heard of them until today. They didn't seem to have too much to offer. Their address shows Arkansas but then some where in there it talks about Oklahoma so I wasn't real sure where they were out of. Thanks for the feedback.
  13. Has anyone heard of Select Oils out of the Prairie Grove/Fayetteville Arkansas area? I live a couple of hours from there but haven't heard anyone mention this place. Any Okies or Arkies familiar with this???
  14. Ann and Dan are just real people. They'll do whatever it takes to help you-whether it be questions or products. So easy to do business with and they have quality products. I wish I lived closer to them but then again that might not be a good idea. I think if you do business with them, you'll be back again.
  15. Does anyone purchase oils and wicks for WixNWax in Gladewater Texas. I did a couple of times but it's been a long time ago. I was just wondering about the quality of there oils and wicks. My daughter is heading that way now and I thought she could pick up some supplies for me on her way. If any one uses their oils, could I get some favorites. I think I've only used Butt Naked and it was good. TIA
  16. I've purchased oils, wax, jars and wicks from them and they have alot of the same type oils as BCN. Theyare nice, friendly people. I used to live in that area and when we moved to Arkansas, I could go visit family and friends and pick up supplies all in one trip. They've even opened up there business during the off hours in order for me to pick up my order if I wasn't able to get there on time. Super nice.
  17. Thanks for everyones thoughts on to poke or not to poke. The 10 oz. didn't really seem to need it and but wasn't sure on the 11.5 or 16. I think the 16 oz. really needed it. I use J223 wax. Thanks again.
  18. Sounds like you have a good plan but always expect the unexpected. On some of the oils you haven't tried, you might want to get samples. I have often ordered 1# of something I haven't tried only to regret it later. Just test, test and test. That's the key to it all so you have quality products to sell to the public. Good luck on your venture and I'm sure you'll do well.
  19. Thanks for the info. I don't make wickless but it always seemed better cause you didn't have to deal with that da^m little wick. I just thought it was strange to charge more for them. Thanks for the input.
  20. Happy Easter everyone!! Do I need to poke relief holes in small container candles? I always do on the 16 oz. but I am pouring some 11.5oz.and 10oz. jars and wasn't sure if they needed them. I didn't notice much shinkage on the 10oz. but had a little on the 11.5. TIA
  21. For all of you that make wickless candles, do you charge the same price as ones with wicks or less? I was checking out some different sights today and noticed one that charge $1.00 more for wickless. I just supposed that you would charge a little less cause you are leaving the wick out and it just seems less hassle. Please tell me the pros and cons of wickless.TIA
  22. I thought I saw some kind of parchment paper at Wallie World yesterday. Not sure what it was but it was in the stationary department. I was looking at labels and just glanced over it.
  23. I use powder or dye blocks. I just didn't care for the smell of the liquid. I have teeny-tiny spoons that I use with the powder dye. The color doesn't seem to be as bold as with liquid but I can't get past the smell.
  24. Those look great. I haven't tried to make them yet but I want to when I get some spare time. At what stage do you put the flowers on?
