  3. Hi, I just wanted to let you know you can also use aloe vera oil in your lipbalm:) or as someone else suggested just melt down the aloe butter..
  4. Loving the cupcakes and cake slices..looks good enough to eat
  5. I usually mix it seperately with a bit of the melted soap , then add it and mix well it disperses easier that way and doesnt clump
  6. Hi-,I would add a small amount of the walnut shell powder to the soap, lets say 1 tsp per pound because its does become scratchy as the soap is used ..I use the fine grade powder..it makes a great exfoliating soap, just make sure to blend in as the soap cools a little, when it thickens a little so that it disperses evenly-unless you are using a suspension base , otherwise it will sink to the bottom of molds, but that looks nice too, you can have one side exfoliating and one side plain soap..
  7. I agree soapmaking is very addicting..Yay to making your 1st soap. its amazing the things we can create, Usually I allow m&p to harden and cool down a couple of hours- and for cp/hp soap wait 24 hours- if they aren't popping out easily from molds, place in the freezer about 20 minutes-remove , then leave them on the counter a few minutes at room temperature and the condensation will allow them to pop right out:) wipe them gently to remove any condensation..Good Luck
  8. Hello, you can use cocoa powder blended with some of your oils from your soap batch..makes a great looking chocolate brown soap I added a fantastic hersheys chocolate scent fragrance oil from WSP..I do 1 tbs of both cocoa powder and oils per 4 pound batch added at trace you can also choose to add it to your superfatting oil if you would like... people really think its chocolate brownies:) Good Luck
  9. Hi, hoepfully you can tell them apart by the color, feel as jeanie353 suggested, but there is also a clear jojoba..well the only good thing is that both oils have long shelf lives and are excellent moisturizing oils/wax...so you can use both in about any bath and body or soap recipe..

    lye

Hi, try out AAA chemicals, they carry lye as well as oils for soapmaking, their prices are good but shipping I guess is the same in many other places..too expensive but for me its the only solution as I have no local suppliers, hope this helps.:smiley2:
  11. First of all Elements has excellent customer service and excellent fragrances I use many of the spa/unique fo's like juniper aloe, awapuhi, patchouli honey, rosemary mint and they are amazing in my lotions, body butters, body sprays and cp soaps and haircare...would highly recommend fo's from this company..
  12. I saw some at carolinaretail.com they are gold ballontine candy boxes..hope this helps;)
  13. The pieces could be in small chunks, the smaller the easier they will melt but just be aware you might still have small pieces in the end result but thats ok ..you can stir every 20 minutes or so try and mix everything well then just let it sit in the oven ..if you see it drying out along the sides add a few more tsp of liquid until you are satisified with the consisitency, just dont overdue it , you dont want a waterlogged loaf it has more shrinkage as it cures ..good luck
  14. Hi, I would definitely rebatch the whole thing-chop up the soap into small pieces, maybe adding a few tablespoons of extra oil depending on your batch size( I would add 1 tbs for every 3 pounds of soap) in case the batch still has unsaponified lye in it ..add the tiniest amount of liquid- a couple of teaspoons such as distilled water and place in a warm oven(not over 200 degrees) covered in the roaster is fine, the soap is so fresh it will melt easily within a few hours, it will probably be more rustic looking as you might be "plopping" the melted soap into the mold but it will still turn out beautifully..hope this helps:) Good Luck
  15. Really Beautiful and so vintage looking..
  16. Hi I package my bath bombs in clear cellpohane bags tied by colorful ribbon or in a clear corsage box or craft paper cupcake box - if I ship these or transport to a craft show- I first wrap the item in a cellophane bag then wrap that with some bubble wrap, I then place them in a clear plastic corsage box you can find at your local hobby store or those little clear boxes they sell for slices of cake ..if you have a restaurant supply store near..then place them in your shipping box with some packing peanuts or crumbled paper...I recycle/reuse packing peanuts ect..from my supply orders. its makes a great difference to the environment and saves you some money..hope that helps
  17. My favorite is sugared spruce, its a wonderful fresh fragrance with a touch of vanilla, smells amazing ..from WSP or snowdrift farms..
