  2. Hi Gail, I also use natural colorants, but some morph into a different color completely because of the alkaline..natural colorants product sometimes produce unstable results, but by all means have fun, just one hint, some botanicals will turn black in the some such as lavender and some mints, but chamomile and calendula look very pretty in cp soap as does a little green tea leaves..
  3. OMGosh thats your first attempt, it looks amazing, so proffesional, a big CONGRATS
  4. Hi , Jackie , by what you commented about the temps of the oils I think maybe bits of shea or palm resolidified in your batch ..you are mixing at really cool temps..this is what i have been doing for the longest time is take advantage of the heat produced by the lye mix and pour over the hard oils/oils to melt and process it that way, works really well for me..but if you would like to follow traditional instructions make sure both oils and lye are at similar temps..just not that cool, although I have made room temp cp soap but you really have to blend, blend, blend until the texture of whipped cream, it makes fab soap too, hope that helps................
  5. I was also thinking that ..its seems more of a refresher spray to me..
  6. I know you asked specifically for a website but I can also recommend a book on essential oils that is excellent its called"The Complete Book of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy" by Worwood, its not very expensive especially if you find it used at BetterWorldBooks, a truly excellent source for used books and you help with global literacy when you purchase books from them..its a guide that helps you treat skin conditions with different eo blends..highly recommend it
  7. Also you may need an emulsifier such as polysorbate 20 to emulsify/disperse the eo's into the spray, it also adds a level of moisture, otherwise the eo's or fo's will float on top...
  8. Hi, I haven't purchased from them, but I make bath bombs and using dyes for bath & body and soap just doesnt give me good color, just pastels..I use the powder colorants from essentials by catalina( look under additives) and they produce a very vivid color as well as the LeBomb colors :smiley2:
  9. Hi, you can purchase" special" bath bomb dyes from Brambleberry(LaBomb colors)
  10. Thank You- I think I will go that route also, how unfortunate, I was an established customer...
  11. Does anyone know any other way to contact someone at Snowdrift Farms, I know they have closed ,but I placed an order from their going out of business sale, and there is a MAJOR(over $200.00 worth) discrepancy in the refunding of some of the items I ordered, I have sent numerous emails since the end of the December and no one answers them or the phone. I am very frustrated, I know the owner is going through alot right now with the loss of his wife and business and I am sympathetic, but this issue needs to be addressed as well as the issue with the product ingredient labeling, they weren't shipped with any..alas I might just need to take the loss ..just wanted to vent....
  12. They have excellent FO's I use them for BB items, soap, incense and soy tarts...
  13. Pam, you can use stainless steel or glass bowls(heatproof)..and after trying the bag method and the double boiler method, the oven method is the best for me as it melts the rebatch more evenly..
  14. Bliss..your packaging looks fabulous..love the candles in the boxes..nice:)
  15. Hi, Pam I am a cp soapmaker and can help you with some advice on rebatch bases per my experience..I would use no more than 2 tbs of additional oils-including fragrance oils and no more than 1/8 cup of liquid per pound of base..depending on how fresh the rebatch is -you might not need that much liquid( you can use distilled water, coconut milk, goats milk) to melt it down, as new cp soap ..about a month old and less retains liquid, thus the curing phase of soap..but you will probably never get it as smooth to be able to do swirls..that is achieved at thin trace ..right at pouring of cp soap into the molds..but you can definitely try, it will probably look more like mashed potatoes that you plop into the molds..rebatch soap is very rustic looking because of this...in my experience I place it in a warm oven ..about 200"F in a stainless steel vessel , add a few tsp of liquid at a time until you reach that mashed potato consistency..it will take a while..about an hour or more , you can add additonal oils a few tbs per pound as well and any wonderful botancials you would like again a few tsps per pound and a couple tsps of fragrance oil or essential oils per pound ....I would recommend curing a few weeks although you can use right away..hope this helps and once again this is only my opinion
  16. I make some of my blends and a very small amount of Patchouli EO mimics some of the woody, earthiness you might need, hope that helps:)
  17. Hi, I make a soap with a fragrance that has "Oak " in the name I would say it smells woody..I mean the best way to describe it for me would be like cutting a twig from a tree..it smells "green/woody" if you are looking for something that has some type of wood in in..look at NG's apples and oak, or their teakwood blends..RE- also has oakwood Cider..or try some Cedar blends...
  18. You could also make a really simple yet functional room freshener called smelly jellies with your leftover FO's ..message me for the recipe if you like.
  19. I also do 1 part FO to 2 parts DPG...works well for me:)
  20. THank You so much..I will look up the rest of the items for their ingredients

  22. Yes,Ii know it closed, I purchased items from the closing sale, but they didnt include an ingredient label, unfortunately..and their site no longer shows the ingredients;( hopefully they will eventually answer my emails..I know Mr. Wallace is overwhelmed right now.
