  1. I usually use a 5% of most of my oils, I'm usually really happy with this percentage. CSN are good for palm but I dont' have many, so I will test some CD as well. I'm trying to be ready for a christmas craft market. I could ask CS a shipping quote and see how long it would take to have the wicks.
  2. Yes I don't have many CSN but since I have 200 pounds of this wax I want to try them, I can buy some more (if shipping to italy won't kill me). They are made for palm! Just to have an idea, how much FO do you use?
  3. ChandlerWicks a CD12 seems big to me, I made some tins time ago and I settled with a CD 10, anyway I'll do as you suggest. I also found CSN wick from candle science I forgot them in a box, maybe I'll give those a try too. Flickering flames, mushrooms.. my nightmares. I'll try to do my best!
  4. I checked what kind of wicks I have for testing, I have only two RRDs so I guess I'll skip them, found a lot of CDs, ECO and HTPs. I'll start with CDs. Guess I'll start with CD 10, I use less than 1 oz pp of scent in wax. Thanks for suggestions!
  5. thanks a lot, my idea is to have a full mp but not a too hot glass.. Is there any difference between those wicks in terms of heat? Stupid question maybe, but I erad abourt ROC and YELD and now I'm more confused LOL!
  6. Hello, I'm about to test some container. I don't have a lot of experience with containers, I only made some very large and I found out cd 18 was the choice. The wax I'm going to use is a palm wax for containers that looks like soy, it's in flakes and it behaves likes soy (don't know what wax is it, it's from pitisumi haiash and it's the only I have here in italy). The containers I found are glass tumbler, I chose these because they are inexpensive. The smallest has a 2.55 inch diameter, the largest is 2.95 inch. I have a lot of wick samples of different types, I have RRD, CD, HTP, WU paper core, ECO, LX.. I was reading the charst on wickit and wicksunlimited. They bot say all the wicks work well in natural waxes, I got a bit confused on wichs size to pick. Any suggestions on sizes to star with? The tumbler are straight, same diameter from top to bottom. From what I was reading here I got the idea ECO wicks have a lot of problem. Many thanks!
  7. Thank you! I wasn't sure about the raspberry but it came out pretty good. At least to my eyes!
  8. Hi all, excuse me for the poor pics, I pour and send pillars so little time for taking a good shot. These are two paraffin rustics, scented Ocean and Raspberry Truffle (guess who's who's ), and a palm pillar scented Beach Daisies. I have a freind who makes jewellery and does little markets, we decide to expose my candles and she sold three in an evening (she had only 9 to expose). Friday and saturday we'll try again. Thanks for looking!!
  9. Hi Donita, my dear, how are you? Too bad we don't have time for candles. I hope you'll get back at it soon, because you are pure talent! Love Sabrina
  10. Hi all, this is something I wanted to make just for fun. It's a paraffin pillar with water slide decal on sides. Not a great work but it's nice. Thanks for looking!
  11. To me they are just perfect!!! I could never be able to do something like that!!
  12. Thanks everyone! I wish I could have more time to spend on this board, and making candles.. but life isn't always what we expect it to be. Scented maybe I messed a bit with the splash on the side.. but overall the are quite clean. The marble experiment failed, so there are no pics of that. I need to practice a bit more. Thanks again! And remember.. I' always here watching you....
  13. Hello everyone, long time no see... I'm always on the run and can't find much time for my candlemaking.. but I still love it. So today, a rainy day, I was at home with nothing else to do (well..... ) and I decide to make some pillars. Here are the first rustics. Still in the mold are a square plain orange I want to attach some decal on it; and my very first try at a marble pillar, but they are still coolin. I have no pumpkin scent, I used Frosted Carrot Cake. Thanks for looking!!
  14. Uh!! Since I love White tea and ginger.... do you think it could have an application in my plans??
  15. Kandelkrazy, I should have not started a thread in the fragrance section, now I want a lot of new scents I don't have!!! I love bakery scent. I will try different things and see what works better. I searched for a coule of burner at the chinese shop but could'n find any. So my experiment is procrastinated!!!!
  16. Thank you very much, I'm afraid bakery scents are not the right type since I sell clothes and helmets.. But who really knows! The shop is small, about 915 sq ft, I was thinking about some pillars but maybe some tart would work better. It happens I'm out of tart warmers LOL!!
  17. Ok girls, now I'm focusing on this part: "Browse longer and spend more: Tailored floral/citrus scents" I have some floral scent, sweet pea, gardenia, rose bouquet, country garden, tall grass.. and not much of citrus, I have sage and lemongrass... cool basil citrus.. and maybe sone cranberry citrus, I don't remember exactly. I also have a redwood and cedar which could be for the "Buy expensive furniture: Leather, cedar" part. What would you suggest to try? Thanks!
  18. Thanks Candybee. Now I run a motorcycle clothing and accessories shop. I wonder if I can use my "candle skill" to put them in a good mood and maybe forget to ask me to price down things lol!
  19. Good to know... if it works with horses.. i have many customers i call donkey when they can't hear lol!!!
  20. Thank you kandlekrazy! Will sure try something!
  21. Wow Beth, thanks so much! I could try an experiment! Sorry, since I'm italian and sometimes I miss meanings.... what are tailored florals?
  22. Hi all, I remember from time ago that there was a thread about which scent can put buyers in a good mood and make them prone to buy. Do any of you remember this? Or am I losing my last pieces of burned brain? I can't find anything about it. Thansk in advance, any help very appreciated, as well as suggestions on which scent I should burn in my shop to make my customer relax!
