  1. Here are my candles with hanging tags.. pic is a little too dark but I really can't do better with the lights I have in my home.. What do you think? Thanks for looking!
  2. Jo! How are you? Thanks a lot, I don't see them so gorgeous LOL!
  3. Hi all, I'm always taking pics on the run.. So this morning I took a pic with mi phone to some pillars I made. They are scented Bird of paradise, colors came out darker then what I expected but I like them somehow. In the meanwhile hubby took the light tent and took some pics of the other candles I made, palm pillars scented White tea and ginger. I guess he wins. :rolleyes2 Thanks for looking!
  4. I'll try to have fun, my friend will be at the booth next mine.. I hope it will be of help having a friend for a good laugh. I'm so nervous now!
  5. I will try to calm down.. I have 40 pillars.. I'm doing containers.. then air freshener, maybe firestarters and clamshells.I have some christmas scents, some old good classic as vanilla and chocolate, some flowery.. but don't know what to do next. I have my new business cards ready, I have 500 of them.. well the first will be a test, then I'll have about two weeks to prepare for the next!
  6. Oh so you've done your first! I'm excited and scared at the same time.. and yes it will be cold... I can't stand cold so I don't know I can manage a day like that!! So many thoughts are making me mad!
  7. Hi everyone.. after many years of candlemaking I decided to do some craft market (or fair? I'm italian don't know the exact term). So I'm making candles, with no ideas about what people will like, or what they want. The friend of mine who is already doing craft fairs said she never saw anyone selling candles. I simpli have no idea of what to bring. The shows-fairs are 15-16 december and 22-23 december. My friend said there will be one with no fees on 9 december so I decide to try that first, just to have a feeling just before the biggest one.. I'm so confused LOL!
  8. I saw lots of mass production candles on shelves and no one had a right centered wick!!
  9. I use CDs and always have to trim. Not much, they don't get so long but I always take off a bit.
  10. Really? Are those BBW candles?? wow. I always find off centered wicks in every commercial candle I see around but form big names I'd expect something more.....
  11. Thank you everyone! I was happy when I unmolded those!
  12. here soy costs a lot so my supplier told me to try this. I always have to buy 200-400 pounds at a time. they send me a small sample then I have to buy in bulk. Last order I made is dated 2010.... I really prefer this wax soy isn't consistent and I always look for consistency. For the swirl, I wait when wax is at a slushy stage, put one drop in a side and one at the opposite side, I move a bit the pouring pot then pour. Swirl comes on his own.
  13. thanks a lot! but it's so frustating when candles come out of molds and aren't what I figured in my mind!
  14. Soooo this is a set (I made 6) of paraffin pillars, scented Home for the holidays. Thanks for looking!
  15. Hi, me again! I'm on a candle spree these days, have to be ready for a craft market (the very first in my life). Here are some vanilla palm pillars, I made two set. They are too dark, too yellow, but I colred wax before putting FO in it and I didnt' realize vanilla FO is already yellow!!! Thanks for looking!
  16. Maybe taking pics with the phone ain't the best but I have it always with me! the wax is SAW 6808 I thing the producer is pt sumi ashi or something like that.
  17. Here are the candles after the 4th burn, they burned for almost 5 hours. For the largest jar I'll use the CD12. CSN9 ended up quite well in the small jar, I have not many so I think I'll use a CD10 for this. CD 10 in the largest jar lets too much shell. They are very long lasting, the throw is good wirh every wick to say the truth. Sharon, the swirls are really simple, I put 1 or 2 drop of color in the pot without stirring just before pouring, and voilà! Try it, it is fun! The wax seems similar to the one Richard uses. I have no problem with this wax, I like it more than soy, it's more consistent and tops are always beautiful!
  18. I wanted to a power burn to see if wicks would mushrooms a lot and if sides would catch up!
  19. small jar with CSN9 is 2.55 and the other two are 3 inches.
  20. Now it's 4 hours buring, the CD12 has no mushrooms still a bit of shell left, the CSN9 in smallest jar is cleaning sides but it's mushrooming a lot. CD10 has a little mushroom and is far from melting side. too bad I have to close and go home in half an hour!
  21. now are mushrooming, all together LOL. 3 hours passed and still I have a lot of shell with CD10 and CD12. CSN9 is in a small jar and it's slowing melting sides.
  22. yes, after two 3 hours tests, this is the third, I plan to let them burn until I'll close shop and go back home, for a total of 5 hours. I prefer CD10 too but I'm afraid sides won't catch up. Pics still look strange but jars are same size from top to bottom!
