  1. Hi everyone, I have a lot of left overs because of little weighing mistakes, or because a palm pillar sometimes needs a refill sometimes not. Maybe soy works right in firestarters, I found palm waxes are not so good, but maybe mixed with paraffin it will do what it should. I guess I need to try it and see!
  2. Hi everyone! I have some pots with mixed left over waxes, there is palm wax, paraffin, soy wax... And it's a lot. Is there anything I can do with that? Sometimes i make firestarters but with soy and Palm it seems they don't catch up fire really well. Any idea? Thanks!
  3. Hi Inez, the techinque if I remember well was brought to the community by Donita, she works with paraffin. Anyway the best result she got were with chunk pillars. You have to put the pillar in hot water then in cold water, so the surface cracks. I've never tried this, so I can't be of any more help.
  4. Inez, I have the same problem! The past winter I sold a lot of candles but because they almost sell by themselves. I'm not really able in speaking with people, engaging them, or talk about the beauty or benefits of my candles. Wish I could do more! I've always been a "fly down" person, I don't like getting too much attention, so maybe this is the problem. Confidence in myself first of all!!
  5. Chefmom I'm going to resize the logo a bit, make it a bit smaller. I love that logo too, it's a hand designed logo by my sister!
  6. Thanks to everyone for your kind comments! Candybee, I like your idea of a folded label. Next step will be deciding if putting a label on the jar too (and, if so, identical or simpler?) and where to write info and guidelines. I want to make a sort of upscale candle but don't want cost increase too much, I thoght about a little flyer in the box.. Uhmmm so many, too many thoughts!
  7. Thanks ksranch! I am looking for a more "classy" look than my usual, want to change things a bit!
  8. Ok, here's my idea. Still have to make lots of adjustment, but that was more or less what I had in mind. I would go with white, maybe a nice glossy paper with some nice effect. Any opinion is very welcome!!!!
  9. The box is all wavy, but I'm working on an idea, I'll post some pics later!
  10. Hi Candybee! I would love to use a label but I'm afraid that with all those little waves it would look weird. I was searching on google for some pics but didn't find nothing similar! Uhmmmmm just thinking... I can make a label with a sturdy cardboard paper and apply it on the box with a bi-adhesive tape...?Maybe?
  11. Hi all, currently I sell my container candles "naked", without box and with a hang tag. I found this cute boxes for a good prices, and was thinking to change a bit my packaging: using adhesive label on the jar and on the box. Do you think it would be too horrorific to stick a lable on this kind of box? Thanks in advance
  12. Hi everyone, I am so desperately wanting to make my container candles in jars like the one above.. libbey status jar, or anchor elite jars.. But I can't find them (it seems for now) in europe. Does anyone know if they are exported outside US? This is day 3 of my online research and I can't find anything useful. Thanks in advance
  13. Beautiful, I love those layers and colors!!!
  14. Thank you so much everyone! My friend really liked it a lot. I'm glad she did!
  15. Hi everyone, this is a pyramid I made for my bestie, she likes orange and blue, I hope she will like the candle.. I'm not so fond of these two colors together. Pics are always taken on the run, so please forrgive me for the poor quality. Thanks for looking
  16. Hi, thanks for the kind words. No, palm wax didn't melt at all, soy is poured at a very low temp so palm wax doesn't melt. I have to finish test burning yet.
  17. oops you did it again. I'd love to be able to make something like that. All are stunning!
  18. Thanks everyone for chiming in! Soapbuddy, the only reason why I didn't double wick it yet is because bottom it's not flat and I want to secure wick to bottom (wick with sustainer), but I'm considering to try that, because I love it that way. I may let it with just one wick as it is now so I'll be sure the external shell in palm wax won't melt.. Still thinking about it!! Thanks for suggestions tho!
  19. It's about 0,3 inch.. or 8 millimeters. I know witha single wick I can't do better!!
  20. soapbuddy, the bowl is exactly a shell made in palm wax, then filled with soy! I didn't think about a separate candle.. I envisioned this and made it. How would you do that?
  21. Jo, your candles are always a pleasure for my eyes.. I wish I could smell those too! Very beautiful, as always!
  22. Thanks everyone! Now the question is about wicking. I wicked this with a CD18 but obviously it can't burn til the sides.. I don't want to wick up and duble wicking will be really difficult since the bowl doesn't have a flat bottom. I could let it that way, but lot of wax will remain unmelted. Still wondering what to do... Ideas?
  23. Thanks!! ChandlerWicks yes, I flattened it with a hot pan since it's made with a half of a saturn ball mold!
