Why would you get scared making tarts? The only testing is does it melt, does it smell? All these WARNINGS are silly. Now if you're going to make a candle, there is a little testing to be done. IMHO

I do a large coop on another board every year. I only get a hostess fee and reimbursement for pet bottles, pouring, packaging and hauling to PO. It is a lot of work. I do it because I can get a good price on 25# buckets and we use a lot of FO in our business. I buy from Agilex (IFT) and you have to spend $10,000/annually to even get samples from them, therefore, I have about 15 FOs which I have codes for and can't request new FOs. It would scare me big time to order that much unless I already had 1/2 of it sold. We just don't have enough $ to stock FOs. Maybe other mfgrs don't require such high volumes, but I trust these FOs. I was looking last night and BrambleBerry has a Bath Whip. The ingredients are exactly the same, but it was $41/8#s. That would not be much cheaper with shipping. I think all the others are Stephenson's base. Carole

Our Fundraisers (Middle Schools) have just GONE BUST!!! I just don't think people have the $ to spend on candles. Our soaps, frostings, scrubs have sold great. Thank God we have the B&B to help us out!! Carole

Yes, we print our own brochures. We have a color laser printer and get the tri-fold paper from Desktop Publishing. Bug

We do a lot of church Fundraisers. We let them (ind sellers) order from Brochures we print. They (church)are responsible for checking each brochure to make sure they have collected the correct amount of $. They (church) give us the brochures and a check for cost of candles. We do a spreadsheet and pour exactly what is ordered. We pack by brochure and tape up box, including brochure. We give them (church) copy of spreadsheet. Their profit is 45%. We offer 6 oz tins in about 12 scents. Works great! Carole

Yes, the PB smells real. I just never got a lot of requests for it. Bug

Try Associated Bag. They have one I use for my palm pillars. It is gusseted and looks good with a ribbon tie. Carole

All the advantages you hear about in soy candles, ie cleaner burning, etc, are lost on soy melts. All you're doing is melting scented wax. I can't think of any possible reason soy would be better than paraffin for melting only. Carole

Wax expands when it is heated and slowly contracts (shrinks) when it cools. Mine do that, just not as noticeable in my jar. Carole

They do not offer samples unless you are a $10,000. per year supplier. I started buying from them before they had such tough purchase requirements. Carole

I have ordered a "short" pallet many times and have it delivered to my DH at work. They have a forklift at his work and can put it on our pickup. Trucking Frt is so much cheaper than UPS/FedEx. We have to get every break we can to stay in business. Carole

The only supplier I know that formulates their own scents is Taylored Concepts in Dallas. My opinion is that a lot of the suppliers we use, buy from Agilex. We have been using them for over 5 yrs. Carole

I am so sad, IFT fos went up by 10% across the board. Look for some more increases from our suppliers. A lot of suppliers use IFT. Carole

Got my order today and tried it in lotion. It sure smells awesome to me but I'm anxious to know how it compares to the real thing. It is light and sorta smells like Baby Grace but better??? Carole

I use the same as Wessex, Labels by the Sheet. Online used to carry them but no longer. Carole

It is tarts you are making, correct? I seriously doubt it is the wax. What kind of wax was it? Your FO must be considerably weaker than the sample. It can happen. Carole
