  1. Thanks OG....I just received the sample of Iced Lemon Cookies from Aztec yesterday. I had originally purchased it on eBay where it is no longer carried. Had a feeling it was the one from Aztec from the description and pic, and it sure is. I'm very happy. Love that FO and will buy it straight from Aztec by the lb from now on. Also, picked a couple more while I was there to making shipping worthwhile since it is coming a long way. Will be working with 6006 today. Will do FO load at 1.25 oz pp. That way I can go up or down once I see how this goes.
  2. I rarely use CDs or CDNs so no help there from me. However, I do like HTPs a lot too. The 62 may turn out not to be too big due to 4627 being a wicker-up type wax (imo). I have some smaller HTPs I can send you, if you like. Also, have Eco 6 & up for sure I could send you and just may have some smaller ones downstairs.
  3. FS ~ You could try HTPs to see how they work for you. Or get yourself a sample pack of Ecos and give them a try. If you go Eco, you'll need to test the smallest sizes and up in that little jar. I do like Eco best in 4627. I've not done that jar to help with which to start with plus it's a blend so that changes things a bit. Maybe start with Eco 2-4 and go from there. HTP...maybe start with a 52? I've used both combos you mentioned during my testing frenzy. Both good (IMO) but I ended up going 4627/415 @ 20% 415 and is in the final 2-3. HTH and GL
  4. I'll give CDs a try and may toss a little 415 in too. The couple testers I made with this wax didn't have the greatest HT but it sure made a pretty candle. May have been a little candle nose or it doesn't like Eco or HTP wicks.
  5. I have some 6006 here when I purchased a sample along with a bunch of others from Peak. Do you feel more FO is needed in this wax? I may give it another try. Also, on zinc wicks....I have them but seem to always reach for Eco or HTPs. Might give them another chance as well. Thank you for sharing.
  6. I had that happen a few times with C3 so I stopped working with it too only because I was afraid I'd miss some later. I'm glad it seems you found how to diminish/or get rid of the pockets in your J50. Just hope now you can keep going without worrying about them.
  7. I use just about any kind except Bounty Basic.
  8. I have clear gloss, oval labels for one type of jar I use. Printed the lettering in black ink only. The lettering did show up nice on a background of colored wax. Also, the unprinted area of the label itself isn't too obvious with that type of finish. I use(d) onlinelabels.com
  9. OK...I didn't realize all were poured so low in the little jar. Oops...Possibly the neck as Chandler mentioned or maybe heating the jars and pouring about 155ish so they cool slower. Yeah, I don't know how much cooler you can go with paraffin before it starts solidifying in areas of the pour pot or worse yet, too cool for paraffin and more problems develop. Keep us informed, if you don't mind. This is interesting.
  10. Maybe pour a little cooler in the smaller jars? I've found when I get a sink hole in a container that I didn't before, I had poured too hot. HTH and GL
  11. Uh oh! I mis-read in that I thought Bill came on and read after the shipping comments.
  12. You know, it may be one of those "meant to be" things. Now Bill is aware there appears to be a higher cost in CW's shipping than other suppliers. If I were a business owner, I'd want to know what is bothering my customers to try to fix it. If it's the calc, he can take a look at that and that would be a good thing. CBL129 certainly is a good wax (IMO). Just did a melt yesterday (might have been day before) and it was right up there with only a few others that did that well in my testing of so many waxes and wax blends. While any opinion is subjective, 129 has been mentioned numerous times on this forum alone as being a very good wax. I also wanted to say I can see where this not only makes sense but we've seen it out there in the market where a favorite wax is discontinued. J waxes are now IGI but not all are easily accessible with at least one not available anymore.
  13. If you are close to PA, CW does send free 1 lb samples of their CBL waxes. Shipping might be reasonable on the east coast.
  14. Thank You! ETA: This is the 4625/4630 combo at 50/50. 6098/4625 at 50/50 was a bit more tacky.
  15. Well, it just dawned on me I can take some of these many tarts waiting to be tested and try cutting some up.Well, it did cut up nice but is a little bit sticky. Am going to let the crumbles sit out to see if they lose some of the tacky feel. It isn't too bad though. I have a pic but can't figure out how to get it on here.
  16. Great! TY much. Those would go perfect with the blue jars (imo). Tho' Chandler brings up a good point of how or what to use to get down into the jar. Unless the consumer would tip it to get the crumbles near the neck opening.
  17. Would I have to use straight 4625 or do you think some container wax in there would be OK? Say, like a tart blend of 4625/4630 @ 50/50?
  18. I don't have my notes anymore of checking shipping at Peak and CS but CS was less than CW and a bit more than Peak. All were using UPS (even though I prefer FedEx). Peak is less expensive than some other places closer to me too but the difference isn't quite as much. Maybe their shipping calc is off and this will help Bill to realize and fix it. They do have excellent customer service, that's for sure.
  19. To get the exact same products to me, Peak was $6 less shipping the exact same items. Actually no....the wax from Peak was 2/10th of a lb. lighter.
  20. I just gotta say Peak is the least expensive of three major places I order from in shipping costs, yet they are half way across the country from me and the others are not. Headed off to get 4625 and will have to try the Cranberry Citrus while I'm there...and a few others I'm sure.
  21. The one I poured without any container wax had a center dip in just the little metal fluted mold. Sooo, it's very possible the cups may need a 2nd pour. ETA: I poured hot. Pouring cooler may help eliminate it in a portion cup, if it's one ounce.
  22. If you haven't already called, the first "click here" on this page to ask product questions is what I used to request a sample of the waxes I was interested in. Bill emailed promptly and shipped the wax either the same day or the following. I was specific in which wax I was interested in and why. HTH
  23. Well, you'll feel right at home here. Wish I could help more with fragrancebuddy but that is one I haven't gotten to try yet.
  24. Yep, I think there is. You might try the search using fragrancebuddy and it should bring up the older posts. HTH and GL
  25. I poured that blend this morning and just tried it now. They release really good imo. Would you like me to send you the clamshell so you can see it yourself?
