  1. TY for calling for us! Am sure glad I didn't order. Not that soy doesn't have HT better than paraffin many times, I just prefer not to have the cure wait.
  2. If you don't order, I can let you know my results after they're made and cured. Probably next week sometime on that one. Yep, Beth dared me to try it. I'm sure it's no surprise to any of you I had to take the dare. 4794 is on the way!
  3. I've bought wax on eBay when I need more than a 2 lb sample but less than a slab. They do make a pretty good profit on it. We know what they pay for the wax, add in a reasonable shipping amount and there is definitely a profit there. GB are marked up quite nice and would be sooo easy to package up and resell. Have thought seriously about doing FOs on a small scale, wicks and some wax. It's just the initial outlay that's holding me back since I spend too much buying wax and FOs for here.
  4. Wonder if it has soy in it since it says to pour around 100 degrees.
  5. lol ~ I sure hope it's neither. Doesn't look like any waxes I've seen except KY 133 Versatile. Finely ground...almost like sand even though the current pic shows flakes. I do not have flakes in that wax.
  6. Oh nooo! I'd love to ask what is in it but darn well know they aren't going to tell me. They've sold 23 units already. Wonder how many are from this forum?
  7. CW is a very reputable supplier (imo), have bought lots and lots of wax from them over the years. I had a short email conversation with Mr. Bill today and he is shipping me out a sample of 125, 129 and 141. I am going to do one last comparison on CBL125 up against 4630, a comparison on CBL129 up against TCS and 4625 (in melts - not pillars) and CBL 141 in melts. If I find them as great as I did back then and they compare to or beat longevity of TCS or 4625, I'm switching completely over. I will also switch back to CBL125 if I find it burns like or close to 4630. It's true IGI is available in so many places but if CW waxes do the job, I can get them all there once again with reasonable shipping to me. I didn't mind the shipping costs in the past, so won't mind if I go that route again. In the meantime, I'll continue to test daily the melts here made with TCS blends and 4625 blends and do CW's when they arrive. In the end, the one that performs the best will be where I settle. Honestly!! Mr. Bill also explained to me why CBL130 lost the HT it had at that time. It now has what he said a "substantial" amount of soy in it. I'm sure it only needs cure time but I'll stick with paraffin waxes and add a small amount of soy to smooth out the burn and opaque the wax, if needed. That is today's decison. Now where are those meds?
  8. I'm with you on TCS being all paraffin but wasn't going to commit to saying it for sure because I don't know....And there was a hint that it may have some soy in it that came from a person who knew. So, basically I was waffling a bit to error on the side of caution. Now as to your question of why one would try a wax that is supposed to be the same as 4630 rather than just ordering 463o....Is that in reference to CBL125? If so, I can answer you From one crazy to another, I need to try it to see for myself. I feel they are the same or very close from working with CBL125 in the past but I need them side-by-side so I can see for myself and put it to rest one way or another. Maybe they have meds for this conditon.
  9. Hope it's ok to do this...Here is the link: http://www.accu-blend.com/HTML%20Files/paraffin_blends.htm
  10. I use tart molds but what I do is pour them while sitting on an old cookie sheet. As soon as they skim over, I slide the cookie sheet into the refrig. It slides right over gallons of milk, orange juice, yogurt containers...you name it. I think it would work for clamshell the same way.HTH ETA: I've put up to 2 cookie sheets in at once without problem. Didn't try more than that yet but between the two shelves, I think 4 could fit.
  11. I would be too....unless the shipping comes back too high to justify. These are so darn cute. I think I'd also use a few to test new FOs/wicks for HT rather than votives.
  12. I want to go sleuthing with you. I'll be searching Accu-blend in a bit The nice thing about CW is they've been in business for such a long time, with it being a generational business too. I don't feel as uneasy about their wax as the smaller, newer suppliers. Yes, the 129 was quite translucent but had some great HT. 141 was good too. I can't compare slabs since I have all pellets but examining them can tell they are quite opaque. As I mentioned to another member earlier, I'm going all in this time with waxes all at once to be able to test them side-by-side with the hopes of getting this settled in the very near future on both melts and containers. TY for the info....off to search. ETA: Pic has the slab and pellets. MP is a bit different but not by too much. Don't know if I it's ok to put the link in or not.
  13. TCS Update TCS on its own got about 16 hours of HT for me using Peak Wild Mtn Honey in a large Scentsy warmer. TCS/4627 used at 50/50 is still going but almost done. It should end up beng about 12 hours. When I consider a melt done is when it loses about 75% of its HT not when it gets to the wax only smell.
  14. Dave...before you go to sleep just wanted to say thank you very much for talking to the horse today. I got back on here late after napping too long and am just now seeing your reply. We were avid CW wax users at one time and drifted. I believe it was due to CBL130 having a problem or we got candle nose. Now I'm rethinking.......on 129/141/125
  15. TCS tart wax is 100% paraffin Edit: That is what TCS says....
  16. We were very pleased with 129 & 141 and for the life of me can't remember why we switched.
  17. Looks like I missed the post. Time for a caffeine hit.
  18. Waiting on some 415 & 4794 so I can make one big mess instead of 3 small ones.
  19. Wish the horse would talk about CBL 129 ad 141 while he's talking
  20. We could do 125 and get some tart wax at the same time. ETA: Did you read I said my search was over back in 2011? It's all 130's fault.
