  1. a co-worker's wife sells scentsy, and i ordered the replacement 15 w bulbs for my (not scentsy) nightlight warmer. they were $1 apiece, so i ordered 2 plus one of their only other bulbs, a 25 w. didn't get them yet, but seeing the watts for the bulbs led me to check 2 of my (many) electric warmers. i have 2 punched tin warmers, filled with holes for the designs, and both work fantastic for my tarts, and any others i have ever used. one is 8in. in diameter and 5in. high & takes a 25w bulb. the other is larger-almost 14in. in diameter & 61/2 in. high and uses a 40w bulb (this one is as large as a revere style candle lantern). so, based on the fact that they sell only 15 & 25 watt replacement bulbs, i am guessing that the largest scentsy burner is using the 25w bulb. so, i tried the 25w bulb in the larger warmer. yeah, it melted, took almost an hour, and there was next to no throw, even letting on for another hour. have to agree with Stella-too cool-poor throw. on the other hand-a friend of mine did get a burner from scentsy, and has tested 2 of my tarts in it. she says they melt fine and smell great! i have been using 3/4 CBL 129 (candlewic) OR 4794 votive with 1/4 415 mixed. kris
  2. i have seen these at different country/craft stores as well as in country/prim catalogs. they look factory made, but cute if ya like prim. i have not ever seen the inserts sold seperately. kris
  3. i second Hippy Christmas-Nag champa-Lick Me all Over-Black Linen & Amber. they are super strong and are simply wonderful scents! i love Mardi gras too, but i can't get a strong long-lasting throw in tarts from it. It is a pretty fruit/floral/citrus scent though. another fav of mine is Autumn magic. just grab the card-your gonna need it!!! kris
  4. wonderful job on the counters!!! they look great! kris
  5. if you are after a straight salty sea air scent, try keystone candle's. it is just that-salty sea air! love it straight and mixed with other scents too. ICS has a salty sea air too, but keystones is much stronger and "saltier" imo. kris
  6. so what about Southwest's tuscan patch?? i love moonworks, but down to 1 1/2 lbs, and lebermuth is a bit pricey!! Seems to me a lot of people like the tuscan patch. kris
  7. likes: sea mist-use as mixer lemon verbena-very strong and great mixed with lavender! apples and maple bourbon-great in room spray too moon lake musk fruit slices-not a personal fav, but a friend loves it & it is great as a mixer peppermint/eucalyptus - very strong not really summer/spring scents, but love-love mistletoe, bayberry; cranberry marm, & pumpkin souffle too!! ok- driftwood-nice, but i'm stuck on aztec's driftwood & this is nothing like it. more like a sandlewood sex on the beach & bird of paradise-others like more than me, but still nice summery scents don't care for: asian amber - too sharp/pungent antique sandlewood sunshower or ocean breeze - like other water scents better mango/papaya-smells great, but throw did not last for me just got and am liking OOB these: strudel & spice - smells delicious! oakmoss/amber - this will be the first new one i use carribean teakwood jamaica me crazy - love this tropical smell! i am sure there are others in the stash that i have forgotten-but there are lots of good ones from CS! hope everyone is having fun! kris
  8. knew the CS sale was coming soon and was checking daily. sooo- yesterday at 4:30 AM my order went in. but i really did need votive wicks!! now off to check the others! kris
  9. what about the Indian Sandlewood from NG? is it any better or different? thanks-kris
  10. i have never have smelled the autumn walk or the tin star, but the scent description for autumn walk ( G C - autumn walk - Capture the aroma of enchanting florals and cooling musk) sort of seems like it might be similar to NG's Autumn magic - which i love! An NG Original Scent! A Best Seller! Autumn comes to life in this magical fragrance. Autumn magic starts with top notes of lemon and apple; followed by middle notes of anise, cinnamon, and ginger; sitting on well-rounded base notes of woods, musk, and vanilla. i do not really smell apple, anise, or lemon, but it is rather musky. since you said that AR/RE's falling leaf smells close, i sniffed them together-boy did they smell good!! gonna try those two mixed-but don't know if that is what you are after. also, BCN's autumn leaves is very nice, but to me it has a major greenery note to it, rather than musk or patch. hth-kris
  11. i think my husband is working up to EISUTS!!! thank heaven he is off to the camp for a few days so that i can "smell up" the house for a change. Eric-wonder if your co-workers are related to my in-laws? sounds like they could be!! kris
  12. reactions to anything are different than a dislike of that specific thing. runny noses, hives, sneezing, itching, etc. are common allergetic (again spelling ?) reactions. there are also other reactions that are not so common, but again, are the people with the AWS actually having a problem? hey, i do not really like florals, but i don't sneeze, swell, or itch from them. just don't like them. asprin now is another story for me-thank goodness that is not an FO!! kris
  13. that was exactly what i needed to see after work today!!! not that is is likely i will run out of candles, it is good to know that my leftover wicks can be put to use in an emergancy!! thanks for the hoot!! kris
  14. i agree with Sliver-they probably just don't like strong scents. do they get an allergic reaction? betting not. on the other hand, my daughter has asthma and was told by her doc NOT to burn candles, but wickless scents would be ok. a SIL also has asthma and does burn candles but cannot breathe right if there is a pine type scent, others though are ok. have been told by the dog's vet that different types of evergreen trees are one of the most allergetic (that right??) triggers for both dogs and humans, so maybe fo's & eo's with those oils included might actually cause a reaction. could be the SIL's problem with them i guess. some people just love to whine-if not the candles it would be perfume, your tuna salad, blah, blah blah. they probably think french fries smell good too! sorry for the rant-my husband is one of those allergy a-holes too- and he does NOT have asthma, only advanced whining syndrome (AWS for short!) done now! have a good one-kris
  15. i have used shea base from bcn & cw. check their sites for the base ingredients. hth-kris BCN: http://cart.candlesupply.com/product.php?productid=20247&cat=382&page=1 Candlewic: http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=c81,p955
  16. but aztec does have some great scents!! sorry! kris
  17. Stunning soap!! the scents sound wonderful too!! kris
  18. sorry Ravens-just saw this. i make tarts, votives, & some candles. just started with the B & B, so haven't tried any of Bert's in that stuff. i love the paradise!! to me it is a seashore scent, and i do not smell grapefruit as is in her description. think a pretty version of sea mist. i also mix it 50/50 with salty sea air (keystone's is the best) for a more intense ocean scent. it is also great mixed with lime (or margarita) & salty sea air. the rain is a clean watery-floral type, and i am not a flowery person at all. very fresh, but not at all laundry. i use 1 1/2 oz. per lb. for tarts and these scents last! hth-kris ps-never smelled the archipeglo (spelling?) that paradise is supposed smell like
  19. i love Bert's paradise and rain scents. never tried the creme brulee. the monkey farts are twice as strong as any other place. we need her!!! kris
  20. think they look great and love the color! kris
  21. although i am loving the pink sugar, that pom looks absolutely wonderful! kris
