  1. To each his own i guess, but i consider a hurrican to have a bottom. Hers would be more like a candle shade or something. Helping someone new with instructions though should be given the normal way of making them. Alan has very good directions to the left in techniques so to start i would follow them. You can allways do your own thing once you learn the basic way i guess. Good luck as i know your get it in no time. Lin
  2. No it wont melt the bottom as i make these all the time. Ive neaver seen one myself that didnt have a bottom. It would be just a shell without it. Lin
  3. over dipping can ruin the picture though with to much wax(ask me how i know) Lin Maybe try a heat gun just enough to make the wax from the hurrican and the whipped adhere better. I havent tried it but have been thinking about this. Lin
  4. I just love the whipped one but wish i could help with the wax falling. I did this to but had the same problem so stopped doing them. Lin

  10. Just wanted to confirm what SteaveinPA said, as i made a bunch of 12" tapers with heavy scents and cant smell any of them much. Allways wondered why they were mostley sold unscented and found out. Lin
  11. Anyone have any ideas why a wax would have a greenish tint to it. Im useing 1343A with steric for just white candles and when i get to like a quarter of the pot, i start noticing a very light but greenish tint to the wax. This has happened a couple other times in the past with this wax and i dont understand what is making it do this. Any ideas? Lin
  12. very elegant looking . The charms do make them look even more beautiful. Lin
  13. Ok this may be pretty stupaid but i want to make sure. This is my first time to do the fruit pies and a little confused on the crusts. Theres the pie crust and then theres a full crust. My question is do you use them both or one or the other? I figured the lattice crust type would be for fruit pies and the full bottom crusts for like open cream pies, am i right? Lin
  14. I use three 51z,s in the heart glass and burns great. Also i made some with good size roses on top and it just melted along with the rest and neaver bothered the wick or burn at all. Lin
  15. Thanks for all the help all of you as ill try everything. This is for a church santuary candle and if i can get it right ill be able to make them for a church. This darn thing has been a huge challange. It makes me crazy cause their made from these bigger companies, real cheap ly made i must add! but they burn with no soot at all. Guess ill keep testing. Lin
  16. Container looks something like this but like i said tapers in from 2 1/2" to 1 1/2".
  17. Ok i wouldnt ask for wick help but ive tested for months now and cant get it right so could use some help. Im trying to make tall container candles and have tried everything and the container still burns black. The container is 8" tall and has a 1 1/2 " opening at the top. What im trying to explain is the container is 2 1/2 " wide for 8',s and then comes in to the 1 1/2" at the top of the container. Its a santuary container which will burn for seven days. I know its not a container everyone would use but its very important for meand will even pay for the help(within reason). Its supose to be just a cheap parafin wax and wicked but im going crazy trying to get it right. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Lin
