  1. I second candlebuddy both have good quality FO's I buy from CS because they are closer from me but what will work in 464 that is another story.
  2. Sorry but don't you know that e-Bay can do whatever e-Bay wants. e-Bay and Paypal are the same company and they are so big that it doesn't matter what is legal or not...I bet that if you call them they will tell you that it is for the buyers' protection. I had a customer buy some candles including some cupcake candles when they arrived the box was smeared a little the guy was abusive and demanded another box I agreed and shipped it right away he still left me negative snotty feedbacks for all the items he had bought from me...so I left him 3 negatives as well, he reported me to e-Bay and they removed the feedbacks I had left him and they put me on notice because sellers are not allowed to defends themselves (so much for freedom of speech), when I called them to explain what had happened I was told that e-bay and I needed the buyers and that they were not going to do anything...so I closed my e-Bay store and I have not been back. Think about it...they charge you to list the item, they charge you a fee when you sell the item, them Paypal (an e-Bay company) charges you again and now they are holding funds and earning interests on your money.
  3. gel wick they come in 3 different sizes if I remember...I haven't made gel pies in years.
  4. I just bought some wooden wicks from Candlewic...Anyone use these? Should I try testing them in Soy or Parasoy? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I used to work with CB 135 never got frosting...I have notice that with 464 I do not get frosting right away but 3 or 4 week later...I have had it with 464.
  6. How is the soot? IGI 6006 with zinc wick used to produce too much soot for me.
  7. Blue Spruce OOB is very nice. I haven't had a chance to put it in wax yet so we'll see.
  8. I currently work with 100% soy but I am looking for a new Parasoy blend to test. I use to work with IGI 6006 or years and like it. I have also tried Farmhouse 50/50 and did not like it. I did try TN 70/30 and liked it but I was wondering about other parasoy blends out there. So I read all the info I could find on this board and now I am more confused than when I started. I am interested in WOW and Joy Wax from NG, JS 50/50, KY Perfect Blend and JBN JW-9900. Any info on what is worth testing or no would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Ok I want to try the Vibe jar I have CD - ECO - LX - I also have some wood wicks from Candlewic can anyone please give me a size range to start testing.
  10. IMHO I have noticed that some FO's don't do well with the 464...the one that comes to mind is Cinnabuns from ICS. I gave up using that one in 464 because my candles just come out awful.
  11. Did you change your FO load? The temperature and humidity do play a role but I would just pour at a cooler temp.
  12. :laugh2:When I was working with this wax it took me 8 months of testing before I got a good product. It could be the wick, what % of fo are you using? And I wouldn't try to sniff anything without letting it cure for at least a full week. There a lot of good info on this board about this wax.
  13. I make all soy candle but I have a case of TN 70/30 left I had bought it a while back because everybody seemed to love this wax but I decided to stick to all soy. I want to play with it this week and try to make some candles. The last time I tested the TN 70/30 with ECO wicks the HT was great but it thought it burned too fast...what's the best wick for this wax? I checked my notes and can't find what FO load I used for my testers but the CT was decent and I don't think I added any CO to the wax. Any pointers on this wax welcome.
  14. I was at Ikea this weekend and I saw that they have extra large tealights about 1 1/2" wide. I have never seen plastic tealights containers this big any ideas where I can get some?
  15. Wouldn't that be too much co? to what % of FO. I know that GB 464 can take up to 12 % but when I tried to up my fo load I got a mess...the top of the candle were sweating like crazy.
  16. I agreewith you, we can all sell for $5.00 and we can even give our candles away but if we are not making a profit we will not be in business for very long. I just raised my prices to keep up with my expenses and my customers pay it because they know they are getting quality and that I stand behind my products.
  17. I would have a large sign made that reads: Remains scented all the way to the bottom of the jar or we scent the whole candle not just the top or something like that...people that bought from her before wil know what you mean.
  18. I can't imagine getting repeat business that way...but I would use that as a marketing point. No wonder customers don't take us seriously and they rather buy overpriced Yankee.
  19. I ended up getting them here...they are closer to me and I saved on shipping thank you.
  20. I poured Peak's Cinnamon Balsam a few days ago and I can't smell anything... I love NG's Cranberry Balsam but I am looking for a sweet or straight balsam fragrance oil that will work in soy.
  21. Does anyone know where I can find these on the East Coast? http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/CandleContainers_Libbey-Tumbler-HB-Rocks-11oz.html
  22. When we bought our house it already had a nice built in workshop. I think it is why I bought this house. So I have a nice workshop with a separate entrance, a tile floor and lots of cabinets. Next to my workshop is another larger room I use for office and storage...and there is a 3rd room I could also use but use for storing house stuff. The best part is that when I close the door to my office nobody sees the mess. I would never go back to working in the kitchen.
  23. Candles and Supplies in PA use to have them I have also seen those at BitterCreek.
