  1. I use C-3, with 1lb - 1oz ratio, sometimes 1.5oz. I had a horrible time with air pockets, & craters, but I add about 1/2 cup of Snowtop soy wax to 1lb of C-3, and that seems to have taken care of that. I had an awful time wicking C-3 though. I have to use HTP 126 in my 1/2 pint wide mouth jelly jar to get the scent throw, and mp I am looking for. I add my FO btw 175-180 deg. and pour when it just becomes slightly cloudy. HTH, Renee:grin2:
  2. I poured 12 Jelly jars. I usually place them all over the house, and then see how they burn, scent throw, etc...:smiley2: I find that I can have a hard time judging how strong the hot throw is in an open concept kitchen, so the other rooms in the house work well for me. If they burn well, and I am happy with the throw, I then pass them on to a friend, who lets me know what she thinks.
  3. I just poured a case of this!! So far, it has a nice cold throw, but has only cured for 24hrs. I will burn it next week, and let you know:grin2:
  4. Just got this, and will be pouring some candles to see. I am not crazy about the smell oob though. I want to give it a try in wax though. I LOVE JS, so I hope its better!!! I will be pouring C-3, probably 1lb to 1.5oz to start, and see. I always llike to add less if I can. I will keep you posted. Renee:D
  5. Thanks Marilyn!!:rolleyes2 I did a search for them last night, and I think I typed it wrong. Nothing came up!! LOL!!:embarasse I am currently using HTP for my 1/2 pint wide mouth Jelly jars, and I think they are leaving too much soot. Not happy with that. I am testing the Premier 700 series, and I think the 777, or 775 will be great. My only concern at this point is mushrooming. I think I might go ahead and order anyway. Renee
  6. Received my sample from Wick it, and these wicks seem really nice. I am wondering if anyone had any experience with these, and maybe your thoughts on them. I am looking to wick 1/2 pint wide mouth Jelly jars. I am currently using HTP, they work well, but I am looking for ones that dont curl as much. I have only done a couple of test burns, and so far the Premier wicks are pretty good. Thanks so much, Renee:yay:
  7. I just got Peak's, and WOW!!!! I dont normally like anything floral, but this one is incredible!!! HTH, Renee
  8. Too Funny!!! My husband comes home now and says"let me guess, candles and not a wonderful pumpkin pie" I have only sampled from ST, but the samples I have are incredible!!! I just wish she had more to choose from. I really try to wait at least a week before I burn my candles bx I am using C-3 Naturewax instead of Snowtop. I can get it locally, so I save big on S/H. C-3 seems to need a longer cure time than ST. It kills me to wait though!!!! Keep me posted!! Renee
  9. Keep me posted!! I have some HTP 105's on the way, and wanted to try them with Angie's oils. Her oils are so strong!! I only need 1oz per pound.
  10. Welcome!! I use the HTP 104 for my wide mouth half pint. I love them. They burn clean with every scent I have used!! The only problem I have ever had is when I used Snowtop oils. I def. need to wick up to 105 or even 126. HTH, Renee
  11. I've been using this wax since about Sept. and I think I finally have it down. I add my FO at 175, then I wait until the wax starts to get a little cloudy, and there is slight thick feeling to the wax. I pour into the jars, and seem to get really nice smooth tops, no air pockets. I do pour this at a much warmer temp than another straight soy I was using before. HTH, Renee
  12. I love NG's Margarita!! I add strawberry to it, and people love it!! I also add lime to it, if I want it more citrus. I swear you can smell the salt in this one!! HTH, Renee
  13. Ellie1974, Youre refering to the Advanced blend, not the C-3, right?? I had been wanting to try the advanced blend, but really havent heard a lot of good things. Think I will stick with the C-3. Renee
  14. Natures Garden, and Just Scents are becoming my 2 most requested candles!!:highfive: Their customer service has been top notch!! They are my fav. to deal with!! I have been ordering from Candle Cocoon for the Scent Event, and they have been wonderful too!! Renee:yay:
  15. I got a sample of the Pumpkin Nog too. I poured in in C-3, HTP 104 1/2 pint wide mouth JJ & C-3, Hemp 1200 1/2 pint wide mouth JJ. (Testing wicks):rolleyes2 I poured at 1lb to 1oz ratio. I love this!! It is a nice creamy, rich Pumpkin scent. I would up the FO to 1.5oz per 1lb the next batch. I am getting a list together to take advantage of her incredible sale!! Renee:yay:
  16. love Snowtop!!!! So Easy to use!!! I use Snowtop, and C-3. I love them both:p
  17. For the half pint, wide mouth, I only have success with the HTP104, or the Hemp 1200. I could never get to edge of the glass with the HTP93. HTH, Renee
  18. Harvest spice from Candlechem. You can get it on Ebay (4oz) and they ship that day. www.candlechem.com I have already gone thru 16oz of this!!! Friends, Family, and Cust. love this one.
  19. I am using C-3 wax, poured into JJ's. I use HTP 93, & 104. I am noticing that the tabs are rusting by the time the candle burns out. Is this normal?? Any suggestions?? Thanks so much!! Renee
  20. Thanks so much!! Great info!!:smiley2: I should be in the right direction according to that info. Thanks again!! Renee
  21. Hi Heather!! You read my mind!!! I was doing great with testing wicks, wax, FO's etc... Thought I was on the right track, but now there were 2 of my candles that did the curl thing. They burn clean to the edge if its straight. I figure I just need to trim the wick, and start over, but seems like maybe I am doing something wrong. Cant seem to figure the difference. One is the 4oz JJ, C-3, HTP 93,and one is the 8oz wide mouth JJ C-3, HTP 104. Different scents in each of these jars, same wax, same size wicks that I have always used. Cant figure it out. Thought maybe I should wick up, and the HTP 104 in the 4oz JJ is way too much. It smokes, and no matter how much I trim it, I get like a 2 inch flame1 Yikes!!! Havent tried the HTP 105 for the 8oz Wide mouth. Everyone is so right!! Always learning more!!!
  22. I am new to candlemaking too, but have to agree with everyone regarding the temp to add the FO. I had a big difference in scent throw when I went from 165 to 175deg. I was surprised at the difference!!
  23. I use the 8oz wide mouth JJ, and I use HTP 104/105. Depends on the FO. I use the HTP 93 for my 4oz JJ. I find that my Fall scents are heavier oils, and take a bigger wick. I have only been making candles for about 1 yr, and even newer to Soy. Renee
  24. I just poured my first FO order from CandleChem, and so far I love them. I poured Cinnamon Bun in C-3, 1.5oz to 1# of wax. Unbeleivable cold throw, and just as great hot throw!! Maple Pecan I poured same ratio, same wax, except I added Peak's Pie Crust @.5oz, and the Maple @1oz. Makes Maple Pecan Pie. Love this one too!!! Harvest Spice has been my best seller this season so far. Strong wonderful spicey scent, incredible hot and cold throw. Home sweet Home is spicey, but a woodsey and fruitey background. Great too. Cranberry Wood Spice, love this scent, but not strong. Very light cold throw, and light hot throw too. I have Apple strudel, but havent poured yet. Hope that helps!!! It was super fast shipping for me. I live in Ma. so I got my order the next day!!! Gotta love that!!! Renee
  25. Is ist the Ecosoya 135 youre talking about? I live in Ma., and s/h wouldnt be too bad. I had been eyeing this formula.
