I had replied to someone about The Natural Artisan. Her Balsam Fir is 90% EO, and the truest Xmas tree scent on the market. I cant keep this in stock during the holidays!!! Laura's website is www.mainesoywax.com Her service is top notch, prices are great, and she sells a highscale line of candles using C-3 and her oils, so I know that everyone I get is going to work great. HTH!! Renee

That was me!!! Laura's oils are great, and she tests and sells all of her oils she sells. You know they must be great!! When I started making candles, she was so generous with her time and knowledge. I definitely owe her for she led me in the right direction to make a great candle!!! Hope you love her stuff as much as I do!! Renee:D

I use Peak's for both. They are so great. Lilac is so true, and even has green notes to it. Blackberry Sage is wonderful. Super strong in C-3. HTH, Renee

The best I have ever smelled, it Balsam Fir, by The Natural Artisan. It is 90% EO, so it is the truest scent. No Pinesol at all. I couldnt keep up with the demand for this scent last season. It is already selling for me now. The owner is Laura, and she uses C-3 soy. It throws incredible, and the cold throw will knock your socks off!!! All of her oils throw great in C-3. Her website is www.mainesoywax.com HTH, Renee

Need reviews--Just scents fragrances
nay2120 replied to Candlegranny's topic in Fragrance Discussion
I use C-3, and love JS's oils. I havent had one that doesnt work for me. My fav's are Cranberry spice. I have tried about 10 others, and this one is by far my fav Hot apple pie Love this one, but she has a new version, and I am dying to try this. Pumpkin Pie spice.Love this one too. It is spicy, but has a buttery background. A cust. fav. Pumpkin Nog. I love this one. It gets stronger if I let it cure for a full 2 wks. It is a sweet pumpkin, sugar, and cinnamon. just a wonderful strong scent. Apple butter. really smells like apple butter. It is a great fall scent, but I also really like this for a mixer. It is wonderful mixed with a gingerbread cookie. Cinnamon cider is great. I love the sweet cinnamon, with apples being the background. -
Does Peak's have an Ezsoy type?
nay2120 replied to Candle Makin Momma's topic in Vegetable Wax & Beeswax Candle Making
Defin. try candlescience. They had the cheapest s/h for 415 to Ma. for me. They were less than BCN by about $8.00!!!! -
I have poured FOL in C-3 using 1.05oz. / 1lb. I love it. I think it is like a harvest spice type, but not as pungent?? I am not sure if that is the word I want to use. It is still strong, and fills my room quickly, but its a milder form of cinnamon, not bx of vanilla or a sweetness. I dont think this even makes sense!!:rolleyes2 It is a great scent, but I dont think I would replace it for another scent. HTH, Renee:D

WSP Festival of Lights vs. JS Festival of Lights
nay2120 replied to Holly's topic in Fragrance Discussion
I have only used JS Festival of Lights. I love it. It is a cinnamon, with nutmeg, clove, and something else, maybe a very light background of vanilla? It was very strong in C-3 @ 1.5oz per 1lb of wax. It sold pretty good. HTH, Renee:D -
I was looking for this scent too, and the one from NG didnt smell at all like the Pier 1 scent. I was bummed!!!!

Peak has a dead on Plumeria scent. I have a friend that has moved back to the states from Hawaii, and swears by this one.

I mix my C-3 with GB 415 100% soy, but use 7-9% reg. with no seeping. I like this mix bx I find that I dont get air pockets near wick, still glossy flat tops.

Ecosoya and Cargill C-3 Wick Type Suggestion
nay2120 replied to AngelaVA's topic in Vegetable Wax & Beeswax Candle Making
I use the HTP 126 in my wide mouth Jellys, using C-3 mixed with 100% soy 415. They seem to burn really good. Any thoughts on how the RRD burn in comparison to the HTP's? I have tried Premier, Hemp, LX, Cotton Core 60c, and the 62c. I seem to get huge mushrooms with these. -
Thanks for sharing!! I have never seen that before. Great info to learn. I agree with the scents that I have tried. Thanks again!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Turk n Surf from Masterbuilt is on clearance at Bed Bath & Beyond for $99.99. I used their 20% off coupon they frequently send out, and it came to $79.99. Great price to try this!!!

I have been using C 3 since about August, and I find that if I mix it with 100% Soy, it works much easier for me. I get the C 3 locally, so the savings on shipping has made me determined to make it work!!! Good luck!! Renee:smiley2:

I agree with Denise on the "sweet" of the Currant. Most people tell me it smells like Bubulicious Grape Bubble gum!!! If you are looking for a very tart Currant, Try Snowtop. Their's is very tart, with green notes throughout. Love it!!

Thanks so much Carol for this info!! My DH and I were laughing, just thinking about paying tax on the Presto pot, or scale. I live in Ma, and they dont call it "Taxachusetts " for nothing. If you sell something, you need to collect tax. Makes sense to me. I really didnt know that even at small craft shows, the vendors are required to have a license, and collect tax. I guess I just thought on a small level like that it would be thought of as a yard sale type event. I realize now how silly that sounds.:embarasse I have been doing a little more research, and I am hoping to start to become "legal" LOL!!! I will go to the Assessor's office tomorrow, and I am hoping that they will be able to give me more info to get this straightend out. Thanks again to everyone with this valuable info. Still feeling silly, Renee

Thanks so much for the input. I really should have been smarter and checked about tax laws etc... I did 2 craft shows this year. One was a local community one, and I know for a fact that most of the crafters there do not do anything special other than sell their handcrafted items. The 2nd show was very upscale. It was a school run event, but table cost $75.00 for 3hrs, plus a donation to be raffled off. I made a little extra, but not much. I was concerned about looking professional and made sure I purchased nice linens, carry bags and such. I am guessing that the school submitted a list of vendors. I am embarrassed now bx I really didnt think that there was anything to just doing some craft fairs. Now I realize how silly that sounds!!! Thanks again for your great responses!!! Renee

Wondering if there might be some thoughts on this. I started making candles about 1yr ago, and have just been doing a couple of craft fairs, but mostly sell to friends & family. Just received a letter from my local town Assessor's office regarding paying business tax.:undecided I have never met another local crafter that has had to register as a business, and pay excise tax. When I have done local craft shows, or even gone to them as a customer, I have never dealt with tax. I obviously didnt do research on this,:tiptoe: so now I am concerned that I have been selling and I shouldnt have been. I guess I didnt realize that even at a craft fair level you need to pay a tax??? I am going on Tues. morn. 1st thing to the Assessor's office to get more info, but was hoping for some insight here. Thanks so much!! Renee

Hi Michelle, Delivery is my biggest complaint, next to no communication. I also ordered, then Paypal'd. I live only 20 min. from them and figured it would be super quick. After 5 business days, and no oils, I emailed 4x, then called 3x's. No response until 2 days after I got the oils, 11 business days later!! There are just too many great suppliers out there to have that kind of lack of service, in my opinion.:smiley2: sorry you had such a bad experience too. :embarasse I was hoping that maybe it was just a fluke. I actually felt bad responding here to say my experience!!:rolleyes2

I have ordered from them only once. I ordered the Cheesecake FO. I love this one. I mix it with Pumpkin Spice from JS, and everyone loves it. I also got pecan pie, but I dont really care for it. I love about 20 min. from them and I was hoping to get this order super quick. It took almost 2wks to get it!!! BCS, and Lonestar in TX have shipped faster to me!!! I did call, and ask if I could just pick up the order, and I would still pay shipping I just needed it quickly, they said no. I really dont think I would do business with them again. their prices are average, and I get such better CS from other places. HTH, Renee

Holly, to be quite honest with you, I havent noticed any difference in scent throw if I add the Snowtop. It just helps with the stability in my opinion. I have only been using C-3 since August, so I guess there are people out there that would be much more qualified to answer more thoroughly. I loved Snowtop, but I was able to find a local dist. of Soy wax, and she only offers Naturewax. I think I would have killed myself to make it work, just to save on shipping!! Renee
