Does anyone use the Joy wax from natures garden? Any specific likes or dislikes? Is this all paraffin or a soy blend? I would like to try making candles again and am considering this wax. Thanks pixie

I see that Aztek and Peaks carry palm wax. Is there another supplier that carries it? I used to purchase it from candle science but I know they no longer carry it. Thanks pixie

So I have been asked to make bridal shower favors. They are to be small cp soaps and I had planned on putting them in small cello bags tied with ribbon that matches the brides colors. However, Im stuck on a fragrance. Which fo would you like to see or choose for a wedding shower?

Im trying to figure out how much FO cost on average per gram. Lets say we have a FO that is $30 for 16oz. (I know pricey) I think there are 28grams per ounce...not sure though. How much does the FO cost per gram? Ugh I hate math...I just get so intimidated by it. Thanks all pixie

Very Vanilla from CS does it for me. OMG its awesome and a best seller for me.

I went through the same stage and am now regretting it. It is VERY cost prohibitive to order from a bunch of different suppliers if your trying to make a go of candle making as a business. If you are just doing this as a hobby it would probably be okay. But for a business its horribly expensive and eats away at your profits.

Does anyone know of a dupe for BW Honey Gingerbread? I know greenleaf used to carry one but they are now longer in business.

So I bought a Walmart tart, its the Better Homes and Garden brand they carry. I got the Orange Buttercream Cupcake. So I put it in my tart warmer and omg, I cant believe the throw! It blew the doors off and at one point my husband actually asked me to turn the tart warmer off. My tarts sadly are no where near this strong. I dont know if it was just this particular fragrance but next time I go to wally world I will try another one of a different kind. So if any tart makers out there are wondering how your tarts compare to others, this one would be a good one to try out yourself. I now know that my tarts need ALOT of work in the throw department.

pita, what did your testers think of the clean up aspect of this? Were any of them put off by the fact, you cant just pop out the wax like you would if you used a tart?

What a disaster!! My soaping room is our spare bedroom, which is carpeted. I spilled 16oz of FO, which all soaked into the carpeting. OMG the smell is giving me such a headache. Of course I opened the windows and put a fan on. Im trying to clean it up but am at a loss. Im soaking up what i can with towels...anyone have any other ideas? Thanks pixie

My husband makes the signs. For the sign holders, he buys the wire and shapes it himself...but I know ive seen comparable holders for sale at party supply stores.

I soap the FO and dont have much problems with it except for very slight acceleration, however I do discount my water. Ive attached a pic of the soap with that fo in it. It smells very much like shaving cream or barbasol. Its not a big seller but I do have one customer that comes to me every week to buy a bar of it. Its the only soap she buys.

I dont think you want to put the label on the waves...it would look weird, however maybe on the top?. I cant tell from the pic if the top of the box has the waves too?

Does anyone know where I can get signs like the one in the following picture? I've been searching for awhile but cant seem to find them anywhere.

When I read the originals posters link, my first reaction due to the nonsense of it was "aint nobody got time for that", which lead me to think of the youtube video: I'm sorry, cant help it. In my defense, I've drank some wine today.

My go to candle wax is 415. I really really love it. I add my FO between 185-195 and stir for 3 min. As others have said, not all FO's will throw in soy. Personally, I only keep about 10% of the fo's I try. But the 10% I do keep throw wonderfully and keep my customers coming back for more. The name of the game with soy is testing..testing..testing... like I said, not all fo's are going to throw and the only way to know, is to test.

Has anyone tried a blend of cb 135 and 4630? I usually use eco or cd wicks, would those work in this blend? Im trying to work on getting my wax local to eliminate shipping costs and both of these are local to me. Thanks

Does anyone know who carries any dupes from 1803 Candles? I love their scent.

I was thinking of trying a candle warmer lantern like the one in the following pic. Has anyone here tried one of these? How long does the candle actually last if its being used regularly (2hrs a day, 4-5 days a week)? Do they throw the scent pretty well? The warmers themselves are pretty pricy but I really like the look. Thanks pixie

I think its great when people try something new and think out of the box. However, after looking at the youtube video, it seemed like it took alot of "squirty wax" to fill the warmer.
