  1. Thanks Maggie, I'll have to try those two. Chris, well, in going through the list of fragrances I made a list of one that intrigue me. I know some are expensive but if you use less per pound like with the gardenia, well, it worth it to me. So here's the one that caught my eye: Black Currant Rose Fragrance Bobbi Brown Beach (type) Fragrance Burberry Baby Touch (type) Fragrance Christmas Thyme Fragrance Eucalyptus (The Thymes type) Fragrance Fall Foliage Fragrance Fracas (type) Fragrance Green Tea Fragrance Hotel Costes (type) Fragrance Lime Margarita Fragrance Masculine Musk Fragrance Molton Brown Black Pepper (type) Fragrance Musk, Jovan for Women (type) Fragrance Nectarine Blossom & Honey (Jo Malone type) FragranceOatmeal, Milk & Honey Fragrance Pumpkin Spice Fragrance Pomegranate Fragrance Northwoods Fragrance Sapmoss (Aveda type) Fragrance Tom Ford Black Orchid (type) FragranceWoodlands (B&BW type) Fragrance Woodsmoke Fragrance I know it's quite a list but if you have any input on any of these I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!!
  2. After searching for a great gardenia, thanks to ChrisR's suggestions, I found Sweet Cakes to absolutely be the best for my wax. Waves and many thanks to ChrisR!! SO now that I'm so impressed with the gardenia, are there any other fragrances from Sweet Cakes that you feel are comparable to the gardenia's strength in candles that I should test? Thanks so much!!
  3. Does anyone know if anyone carries the versace men's colgne scent? A gentleman came in where I worked and was wearing the best cologne scent. I usually don't like cologne's. He said it was versace and was light blue in color which means it could be either the Eue Fraiche or Pour Homme . I love that scent! Thank so much!!!!
  4. I was looking over Southern Garden Scents at trying some new scents. I was noticing that there is WIld Fig and Cassis and another named WIld Fig that has a cassis backround. Does anyone know which is better in a candle application? ( I use 6006) . Or which is closer to Joe Malone's type? Thank you so much!!
  5. This past year I pretty much only poured candles as orders came in. No having candles poured up ahead of time to grab and package immediately. It made for a busier time but kept the cost down. I only sell one kind. size and container of candle. Keeping it simple really helps with cost.
  6. Thank you! I think I shalll have to try some!
  7. My sister in law was talking about how she liked lush scents. I was thinking about trying some in candles. Has anyone had suucess with them in candles? I use 6006. Also, if you had success, may i please ask at what percentage you had a good throw? Was justwonderinf because they are more pricey. Thanks so much! Happy new year everyone!!
  8. Is the 6006 wax at peaks the same as the the 6006 at candle science? Noticed Peaks says it's "vintage blend". Not sure if that means anything different at all. Thanks!
  9. I had poblems with the clear labels. First had matt and then swtched to gloss. Still a problem. If the bubbles weren't there right a way, they would be there in a week. I was using larger size label on tins. Finally gave up and switched from the clear.
  10. Hi, well I've ordered some gift boxes from papermart for my candles. They are matt. I have soem 1 2/3 round labels that I was going to use to fold over the corner of the box to seal it. But all my lables pop open by themselves after a while. I've tried craft labels, clear labes, etc. I'd like to have one that I could print my logo on but if not, either matt black or clear. Does anyone use anything to seal shut their boxes? Thank you!
  11. I've tried Peaks and Lonestar. peaks was strong but didn't like it at all. I really like Lonestar. It's smooth and true smelling. I didn't think I would like leather but I really like this.
  12. I have a friend of mine who sells quite a lot of my candles for me. She loves horses and is involved with them alot. I'd like to make her a special candle to say "Thank You" that has to do with her love of horses. I was thinking either straight leather or leather mixed with BNL Hayride. What do you think a horse loving person would want most? Thank you!!
  13. Is one of the Candle Cacoon ones that be mixed at like .5 ? Been wondering if it's one of the really strong ones.
  14. Hi, I was looking at FOC Salty Sea Air. I already have Peak's Ocean. Can anyone tell me how these tow compare? Thanks so much!
  15. Hi, having issues with this one. I got a tester of this a while back and really liked it. So I ordered a larger size. Now I can't get my wicks to stop drowning out. I've backed down in fragrance and have gone up 10 wick sizes already and it just drowns out right away. Can't figure out what's going on. I called WSP. They had no answers for me. Do you really have to go up that much? Didn't seem to in the testers. Thanks!
  16. I was so wanting to try this along with some other exotic ones they had. Please tell me they didn't stop carrying it!!
  17. Hi, Any recs fo cherry lemonade for parasoy candle? Didn't find much on the search. Thanks much!!
  18. Thank you so much everyone!! Those help. Now off to chose other florals. Magnolia, honeysuckle, dogwood, etc.
  19. Okay, I have been geting many samples of florals. So far not having a lot of success. Maybe it's my nose. I did get two gardenias. Green Leaf Gardenia Petals and Peak's gardenia. They smell very differerent to me. I have to admit, I don't know what a real gardenia flower smells like. For those of you that have tried either of these, which do you feel is most like the actual flower. Thanks much!
  20. I'm not a huge floral fan but I keep having requests. I've narrowed down to 2 supppliers I'd like to try and am not sure I can afford the shipping to get samples and then order full pounds from both so I'm trying to decide on the two. Keep changing my mind. Green Leaf - Gardenia Petals, magnolia, orchid magnolia, honeysuckle, dogwood, sweet pea Peak- Gardenia, honeysuckle, hyacinth, magnolia, sweet pea Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Just figured out it would cost me over $14 shipping for just 2 pounds of fragrance. Bummer.
  22. Well, I tested quite a few WSP before it's sister site dropped the free shipping. I think I'm going to keep some in my line. I think. I've been eyeing up a few more oils form there. Any thoughts on these for candles? I use 6006. Vetyver Vanilla Buttercream Amber Romance First Snow Freanch Vanilla pear Mayan Gold Dirt(thinking of mixing it) Sands of Morroco Sandlewood Calming Water Aqua Spa Nag Champa Burmese Wood Any others you have tried and wax and love that I don't have listed? Here's what I use that throw well: Beneath the Stars Gingerbread Lovespell Santa's Pipe Sweat Rain Sun and Sand A Sage one (forget the actual name but I think it's Sage and Citrus) Thanks for the input!
