  1. My friend wears Clinique's Aromatics Elixir, and she said the sniffy from SW was very, very close. Hope that helps a little.
  2. Scent-Works' Just-ripe Banana is a good banana scent. So is Candle Cocoon's Red Banana.
  3. I like Scent Works' True Lilac. I've tried lilac scents from Heartfelt, Ky, AH/RE, Candle Cocoon, Bluegrass, and GenWax, and I liked Scent Works' the best.
  4. It is sad about the customer svc, because they have some wonderful oils- Pink Magnolia, Marshmallow, Pineapple Fields, & Hamaku (sp.?) Banana. I keep hoping they will sell the oils to a co. that is reliable.
  5. I've wondered why this scent isn't available, too. I like the smell, but when I grew it, everyone who smelled it hated it. Go figure!
  6. It's too bad you don't like Taylored Concepts, because their 'Cheesecake' is a FANTASTIC graham cracker scent. I've never tried their S'more scent, but if they use the same graham cracker base, it should be good. TC usually has excellent bakery/food scents. I didn't care for Snowtop's S'more scent-it just smelled like Tootsie rolls to me.
  7. I got two of the candles from Our Own Candle Company for Christmas- one had the wick straightener in it, and the other didn't. I would be concerned, too, that the customer wouldn't remove it before burning.
  8. I've used the perfumer's alcohol from Synergy, and was happy with it and the customer service. There were also quite a few good reviews for them on another b&b board. HTH.
  9. I've smelled real lemon verbena, and Scent-Works' sniffie smelled very close. HTH.
  10. My sister despises the Pink Sugar. On the other hand, I have a friend who burns PS tarts, wears the scent in a body spray, and uses it as a room spray. I don't like the musk in the scent, but the sugary-vanilla base is so delicious that I can overlook it. I use Scent-Works', and it's one of the strongest scents I've ever tried-it can definitely be overbearing if too much is used.
  11. I don't make soap (yet), but I would be glad to send you some to test. I hate to see them go to waste, so I'm hoping they can be used in some application. On one of the British sites, they had a bath bomb kit that included cornflower petals. If you PM me your address, I'll send you & anyone else who wants to try them, some petals on Mon. Thanks to all who replied.
  12. I grew cornflowers, (Centaurea cyanus), both blue & red, for dried flower crafting. The blooms shattered, so now I have a bunch of cornflower petals. I wondered if they could be used in soap, but I only see them used that way in sites from the UK. Does anyone know if these can be used in soap? It seems a shame for the petals to be wasted; the colors are so pretty and vibrant.
  13. I'm only making candles for friends and family now, so I don't buy often, but I think CMS has quality oils and products & good customer svc. I've used their paraffin, but not soy wax-maybe someone else will help out with that. Some of my favorites from them are the Cinnamon bun, White Cake, Vanilla Bean, Sugar Plum, & Cranberry Relish. Their Very Sexy for Him dupe was nice, but I don't know if it's like the original or not. The Leather is very strong. Hope this helps a little.
  14. I've only bought the Grade A; I've found their oils to be very good quality and worth the money.
  15. Scent-Works' is my favorite; ICS' is very close.
  16. SoapSilly has a Marshamallow that is true to a real one. Unfortunately, they aren't the most reliable supplier, but the scent is fantastic.
  17. I haven't tried AH/RE's Pumpkin Spice Roll, but I like the Pumpkin Bread. It has a good balance of spice to pumpkin, and a nice mellow scent. I've tried a lot of pumpkin scents, and this was one of my favorites. I don't know how how it compares w/ BCN's; hopefully, someone else can help. Good luck in your search.
  18. I don't like musk, either. I was going by the OOB smell; since others like it so much, I will put it in wax & see if it smells better. It's weird-other vanillas I've tried that weren't supposed to smell masculine did-they smelled like vanilla & tobacco.
  19. I guess I am the oddball-AH's Vanilla Oak didn't smell good at all to me-not like Vanilla or Oak.
  20. You can also get perfumer's alcohol at www.thesynergy.com. I think they're in AL.
  21. Has anyone found a vanilla scent that works with the corn cob? For some reason, all the ones I've tried seem to smell odd when they mix with the corn cob. Some other scents smell funny, too, but it seems the worst with the vanillas. Thanks for any help!
  22. Scent-Works' Pink Sugar is one of the strongest throwing scents I've tried. It throws in any paraffin I've tried it with.
  23. I wasn't sure if I should post or not, because when I did this show a few years ago, I was selling dried flower crafts, not candles or bath & body, so your experience might be different. I don't think it would be worth it to you, southernscents, if you had to pay for hotels, etc. The towns nearby are small, and I don't think there is enough traffic to warrant the booth fee. (You're also required to donate a 10.00 item for a raffle) The only people that I saw that seemed to be selling a lot was a fudge vendor-they had lines! There were candle and b&b vendors, and they had lots of lookers, but it didn't seem as though the people were buying much. They do allow Avon, Arbonne, etc. Most of the successful stores in the surrounding area are discount types, so it's hard to get the price for items you could get in a different area. I don't mean this to discourage anyone, just wanted to provide info that would help someone make a decision.
  24. When I saw the title of your post, I was going to recommend CC's Cucumber Chaos, too! None of the other cucumber scents I've smelled were close to a real cucumber. Some of the cucumber melon ones had a pukey note. The Cucumber Chaos is a good mixer, too-it takes the edge off too-sweet florals. I hope you can get it to work for you.
