  1. I don't use soy, but I've found some good oils at Taylored Concepts. I haven't liked some of the fruity ones, but they really do well with chocolate, coffee, and bakery scents. They've been very helpful the times I called with a question about a fragrance.
  2. I 've tried their Birthday Cake- it was a good scent w/ a good throw in paraffin. I've seen good reviews for their oils-Starbucks Coffee was one. I think I've got some others I'll try to find in my notes
  3. Have you tried adding a Pie Crust oil to supply the missing pastry note? DCS' (from BNL's line) Gramma's Pie Crust was one that was strong enough to stand out in a blend- I used paraffin. I'm sure other Pie Crust oils would work, too.
  4. I've never smelled GL's Graham scent, but I have another supplier's Graham Cracker, and HF's doesn't smell similar to me. Her FB Cookies is a little 'browner' than other cookie scents I've tried, but I think that's what makes it so realistic. Maybe you were sent the wrong oil by mistake.
  5. I wish I had a sniffie to send, but I don't. It's been a while since I smelled this scent, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Since I don't care for mint, I expected not to like it, but the two scents blend nicely together. Seems like it would be a nice fall scent.
  6. Peak's and The Candle Maker's Store both have good Leathers. I've seen a lot of rec's for Lonestar's, but haven't tried it.
  7. It's been some time ago, but I ordered them from The Candlemaker's Store for .25.
  8. I think it's one of those scents, like apple, that don't throw well. I have to mix to get a decent throw, too. Taylored Concepts has a peach that was very strong in my paraffin; the only problem was that the scent wasn't a realistic peach.
  9. I've never smelled Lush's Banana Coconut, but Candle Cocoon's Red Banana has a slight coconut/ tropical note-to my nose, anyway. It's very creamy and rich-smelling.
  10. Your products and set-up look very pretty and very professional-no wonder you had good sales.
  11. I tried a few samples from them when they opened a few years ago. There was a note I can't identify in some of the scents that I didn't like. There Apple was different, though-almost winey. Would you mind sharing what scents you got?
  12. I've gotten free samples (vials) from Scent-Works, even on a very small order, and also from Brambleberry (1/2 oz.), and Soap Silly-(dram). It's always nice to get the freebies; samples are not cheap anymore, especially with increased postage costs.
  13. The men in my family all liked SW's Pink Sugar.
  14. I had the same problem with testing scents in the summer when the A/C was on. The same scents tested with the heat on had a much better throw. I wish I had an answer as to why this occurs; it's strange.
  15. I really like their Gingerbread Applesauce.
  16. Heartfelt's Fresh Baked Cookies is a very real-smelling cookie scent. It's a good mixer for other bakery scents, too.
  17. If you're hand-rolling them, you'll need to use straight paraffin. Other waxes won't be pliable enough. HTH.
  18. I like Pier 1's Ginger Peach, too, but it had almost no throw at all when I burned it. I was testing Candle Cocoon's Ginger Peach at the same time I bought Pier 1's GP. It's not exactly the same, but in case you can't find a dupe, you might want to try it. It's a good scent, and has a great throw in paraffin.
  19. I've only tried one of their scents- Banana- in paraffin candles, and it was a true scent with a good throw. I took that as a good sign, because a lot of banana scents are light. HTH.
  20. I got a vial sample of the Tupelo Honey with my last order. I don't really like honey scents, so I may not be the best judge, but it does have a baby powdery smell mixed with the honey. (This is just an OOB observation)
  21. Thank you for pointing that out-that's something I hadn't thought of. I wonder if coating the bottom part of the stems with a high mp paraffin would help... Guess I'll do some experimenting. Thanks a bunch for your help!
  22. Hi. I would like to put some dried flowers in a clear vase, and use gel to simulate water and hold the stems in place. I know there is acrylic for this purpose, but it's not removable, and I'd like customers to be able to reuse the container after the flowers fade. Is there any reason this would not be do-able? Thanks for any help.
  23. The Candlemaker's Store's 'Cranberry Relish' is my favorite cranberry scent.
  24. I don't like being accosted by others' scents, especially when I'm in a situation that doesn't allow for escape, such as being a passenger in a car with someone wearing too-strong cologne or perfume. We do get anesthetized to our own scents, so your perfume is probably more effective than you realize.
