  1. I have the same problem. I've tried dozens of pumpkin scents, but none of them are what I want. They're not bad, just not "the one". I've tried mixing, too, but that hasn't worked, either. The search goes on...
  2. I agree with SoapSilly's Pineapple Fields; I've tried loads of pineapples, but they smelled artificial-this is the best one I've found so far.
  3. It's too bad the Red Banana didn't work for you. Even though it smells light in the bottle, it's been a great thrower for me, and one of my favorite scents. I've tried it in 6 or so different paraffins, and it's always had a great throw. Scent-Works' Just-Ripe Banana is a good banana scent-less candy-like than most.
  4. I think TC has good bakery/food scents; their coffee and chocolate scents get lots of good reviews. So does their Vanilla sugar Cookie, Cupcake, and Cheesecake. Some of their fruit scents that I tried were not realistic, but I've seen lots of raves for their Pomegranate and Pink Grapefruit. They have lots of scents, which is confusing, but if you call, their people are very knowledgeable and helpful, and will answer any questions you have.
  5. Provence by Scent Works- It's different from any other scent I've smelled, so it's hard to classify, but it's a wonderful scent.
  6. I hate to hear that. I have a hard time finding scents I like, so if I can't try a very small size first, I probably won't order from a company. With the increase in shipping, even 1 oz. samples can be pricey. My basement is full of reject scents. If it weren't for the sniffies, I wouldn't have tried their dupe of CSP's Vanille Abricot, which is fantastic.
  7. I use Scent-Works' Pink Sugar. The throw is fantastic in candles, and lasts forever in a body spray. ICS' is fairly close, but I think SW's is stronger.
  8. It's been some years ago, but I bought a Japanese Pear scent from TriStateCandle supply. I'm not actively making candles now, so I'm not even sure if they're still around. It was a fantastic pear scent, but I had hot throw problems with it in paraffin. They had quality scents and good prices.
  9. I like Taylored Concepts' Coffee House-they have lots of other coffee scents to choose from, too.
  10. I haven't tried Daystar's AFC, but in case it doesn't work out for you, AH/RE carries Chermark's Angel Food Cake. It doesn't have the almond or cherry notes, and is a really great scent. HTH.
  11. GenWax makes a Watermelon that is realistic-fresh and watery, not candylike.
  12. The Angel Food Cake from the CherMark line is wonderful.
  13. Their Vanille Abricot dupe is fantastic in a body spray- especially in the dry-down. It lasts forever.
  14. I guess I am the lone oddball that isn't crazy about this scent. I pick up a chemcial note, and the blackberry smells very artificial. It's probably my nose-I sometimes smell things no one else does. I had to give away a Jasmine scent from a respected supplier because all I could smell was manure.
  15. I didn't care for the BNL Mango Mandarin, either-all I could smell was soap, no fruit. I haven't smelled the BBW scent to compare.
  16. I've tried quite a few lilacs, and I like Scent-Works' Lilac the best. It's very true to the real scent. They have a White Lilac, too, but I haven't tried it yet. HTH.
  17. On a prim decorating board, there were some tips for aging tin. You just let them soak in grape kool-aid with half the amt. of water listed on the pkg. I tried it on some galvanized metal containers that I'd sanded first, and it worked pretty well. I'm guessing the citric acid affects the finish. I'm not sure if this is the look you're going for, but it's cheap to try. Hope this helps.
  18. I just got my Plug-In Burner from the Levine co-op. It is really neat; they are so compact. The bad news is it isn't hot enough to melt my tarts. They are a 75/25 paraffin-J223 mix. The paraffins I use are 140 MP. I'm really disapointed; is anyone else having this problem?
  19. They have great coffee scents-I use Coffee House, but they have lots of others to choose from. Their Cheesecake is a fantastic graham cracker scent. They seem to do the bakery scents really well. Hopefully, someone else can recommend others.
  20. I don't care for the almond-y or cherry notes in white cake type scents, either. Steve's (Candlemaker's Store) White Cake is very nice. CherMarks' Angel Food Cake at AH/RE is really good, too. I don't know about the skin safety of either, though.
  21. You do have to pour around 150-160; otherwise the clamshells could warp. (Ask me how I know).
  22. A lot of the melon scents I've tried have that "play-doh" note, at least to my nose. Hope you find what you're looking for.
  23. Honeysuckle grows wild everywhere around here, and I love the smell. Peak's is a nice scent, but not really true to the flower. Daystar's is the closest of ones I've smelled to the real honeysuckle. This is OOB; I haven't used it in applications yet.
  24. It is a shame about BG-they have some really good oils. Scent Works' Lilac is my favorite of the ones I've tried, including Ky's, BG's, CC, CherMark's, and a few others. Hope you find one that works for you.
