  1. I don't know how Aztec's Volcano compares to the original either, but I do know that my niece sold that fragrance like crazy at her job last summer. Her coworkers just kept asking for more. I changed the name to Island of Capri.
  2. Cierra Candles is having a Cyber Money sale. No details yet though.
  3. It's easy to not be tempted when there is no temptation. I placed an order with Aztec in October and got 10% off for some reason. Don't remember just why now. I needed a few more jars for my DIL's baby shower so I bought a couple of new FO's that I had gotten samples of. Walk in the Woods and Pumpkin Caramel Latte. Haven't used either one of them yet though. I use 444 wax. You can buy 444 and 464 at Candlewic anytime for about $3.00 more than Aztec's BF 'wholesale' deal on 50 pounds. One of these days or months or years, I want to order from Bittercreek. I almost did a time or 2, but I am holding off until I get these FO cabinets emptied out some. I refuse to find another storage space for fragrance oils. Both of my cabinets are full.
  4. Not much difference to me. 444 has a higher melt point than 464. I just started out with 444 and liked it.
  5. Oh! Well that clears THAT up! It's hard to keep all these candle supply companies straight.
  6. That sure is a large percentage of FO. I use about 8 percent, and most all the candles I've made have a good HT, especially the fall/winter spicy scents. I have run into a few FO's through the years that are weak, but that is the exception rather than the rule. I use GW444. I hope you figure out your problem. Have you asked others if they can smell them?
  7. Katmeltswax and I were talking about Candlewic's sale where they sometimes offer a free pound bottle of FO with a $75 purchase. Not a fragrance sample. I'm not sure which website you got that screenshot from. I've never seen an option to pick a fragrance sample like that. At least it doesn't look like that at Candlewic's website on my laptop.
  8. I bought larger plastic cups once for little wax molds. Seems like they were 4 oz. Here are some on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Reditainer-Plastic-Disposable-Portion-100-Pack/dp/B009VSFZCK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1541884538&sr=8-2&keywords=4+oz+polypropylene+containers+with+lids
  9. I do remember once Aztec had like a 30 or 35% off sale for their anniversary of 30-35 years. Seems like it was 35%. The reason I remember is because I missed the sale! I was so distraught. For some reason, I didn't see the email about the sale.
  10. I don't ever remember getting 30% off from FB, but 20% is pretty darn good, especially with free shipping over $100. And as I've pointed out before, they give you free shipping with $100 BEFORE the 20% discount. I think that's awesome.
  11. I never even heard of the word Pintanga until now! I have found some unique scents at Candlewic, like Succulent Agave & Oakmoss. That's a good one! And Aloe & White Lilac from Nature's Garden. I like to try different fragrances too, but I keep having to make the old tried and true ones like Apple Pie. But customers sometimes do go for the unusual scents as well.
  12. I make soy candles, and they need to be stored in a room temperature environment. Too cold, and they frost; too hot and they melt and sometimes frost too. I keep mine in a cabinet in the kitchen. I have another cabinet in the living room for the overflow. When anyone comes over to buy candles, I can just pull them from the cabinet and set them on the kitchen table. My house is small and I don't have a craft room so through the years, I have found cabinets at garage sales and antique stores to store my supplies and candles.
  13. Another Supplier??!! Oh dear! I had to check them out, and Whew! I'm safe from being tempted to add another supplier. They do have some unique sounding FO's but I never pay $28.00 a pound. I'm a cheapskate.
  14. I wouldn't count on Candlescience or Rustic Escentuals to have Black Friday sales. Sorry! The only sale CS ever has is their 99 cent sample sale. I did get $5.00 of a Rustic Escentuals order once. FB may have a 20% off sale. They have 20% off sales at different times through the year. Last year, Aztec's Black Friday sale was their most popular FO's for $11.00 each. Cierra Candles sometimes has a 10% off sale, but I can't remember if they do on Black Friday.
  15. I don't usually spend that much on candle containers, but I was happy to find these. Made a perfect Christmas gift for my daughter last year.
  16. I poured them in. They are a little larger than votives. I just refilled some for my daughter today. I also bought a larger container but she wound up using it for a vase. I got a set of 6 large and 6 medium. They're not very large or medium really though. Large: Dimensions: 2"(W-Base) x 2.5"(W-Top) x 4.25"(H) Medium: 2"(W-Base) x 3"(W-Top) x 3"(H) There are several different designs of these. My daughter loved them and so did my granddaughter. She wanted some too.
  17. So the last bottle you choose would be the free one? I'll have to remember that if that's the way it works. Yes, do let me know. I don't need anything else from CW right now. I had to order jars from The Candlemaker's Store so I got a free bottle of Cinnamon & Sugar with $100 order. I do wish they had more free scents to pick from. I also got a lb of their Spiced Pumpkin Latte at the special price of $9.99. If it's the same one I smelled once when I was there, it's not bad. Not as good as RE's Spiced Pumpkin Latte of course. And that's all I got! One of these days, I'm going to order their Bamboo Lime. I smelled that there once too. But not until I deplete some of the bottles I have now. I still have some of their Bamboo Rainforest and it's really good too.
  18. @katmeltswax, BTW, I didn't care for the name, Black Tea Orange & Almond, so I call it Tea & Cakes. It has almost the same scent description as FB's Moonworks version of Tea & Cakes.
  19. For the life of me, I can't figure out why CW's Snickerdoodle is so expensive. Do you think they would give you the free price on the Snickerdoodle? On one of my orders, the prices for FO's ranged from 13.54 to 17.00. My free one was $14.32. So I'm not sure how they decide which bottle is free. I haven't bought many of the classic scents from CW. Cinnamon was decent, but I use it for a mixer.
  20. Thanks! I've been around, just haven't had much to contribute. And I haven't been buying FO's so I don't want to hear what everyone is loving. I did restock a couple at Candlewic when they had a sale where you get a free bottle. I bought some wax and 2 of my 'must haves'. Pumpkin Chai and Black tea, Orange and Almond. But I didn't buy any new new scents. Yay me! I am bound and determined to use what I have before I buy more. I will probably even forgo the Black Friday sales because I am all stocked up on what I need, plus I have so many FO's I haven't even cracked open yet. (except to sniff of course.)
  21. Customers and I love these 4 FO's from Fragrance Buddy: Cinnamon Broom Lemon Pound Cake Spiced Apples & Peaches Sea Witch For spring/summer I like Jamaica Me Crazy Caribbean Escape A few other good ones are: Pumpkin Cupcake Apple Mango Tango Salted Caramel Cranberry Woods
  22. I did order some rose gold candle containers from Quickcandles.com. They were for my daughter who loves anything rose gold.
  23. Oh my goodness, their containers are expensive! I try to keep the price of my jars under $1.00 each and that's including shipping.
  24. Hi Penelly. I use soy wax and like many suppliers. I mostly order from Candlewic, Rustic Escentuals, Nature's Garden, Fragrance Buddy and Aztec. I have also ordered from Mill Creek, The Candlemaker's Store, Cierra Candles, and Candlescience. There are a few more that I have ordered from, but these are my main suppliers.
  25. It's been years since I've had VBN from Indiana Candle Trappeur. I just remember I liked it. The only other one I've used is VBN from Flaming Candle and I think it is good. I will have to see about the one from FB once I put it into wax.
