  1. @Elegy, I have never ordered from Indigo, but you could do a search in the Fragrance discussion topic. I just looked and there are 4 pages of posts mentioning Indigo. I don't see a lot of discussion on that supplier. My main suppliers are Nature's Garden, Aztec, Candlewic, Fragrance Buddy and Rustic Escentuals. I also like Mill Creek and Cierra, but don't order from them as often.
  2. @Elegy, I see you did load up on the Fig scents. Doesn't look like we gravitate towards the same scents. I have one FO called Pipe Smoke. Bought it special for one customer. It is OK, but that's not a candle scent I want to burn in my home. Haven't had much luck selling it either. One other customer ordered it though, along with Brown Sugar & Fig, which I don't care for either. I was surprised several of my customers did though. I don't like Patchouli or Sandalwood either. But hey! We both ordered Cinnamon Sticks. And I do really like Lemongrass Sage. I get that from Candlewic. Have you used FO's from AAA? I really don't need to add yet another supplier, but just had to try some $1.00 samples. And like I said, I really like the one I did buy from them OOB....haven't put it in wax yet though.
  3. Well. I went and did it. Ordered a bunch of 1 oz samples. I was just in the mood. The price is right on their 16 oz bottles if I decide to purchase some after I get the samples. Their prices don't fluctuate, every fragrance is $14.95 a pound. I'm going to try a few scents I haven't seen anywhere else and I ordered 2 vanillas because I'm always on the search for a good vanilla to see if any measure up to CS's Very Vanilla. Also ordered Cinnamon Stick to compare with CS Cinnamon Stick. I loved Tennessee's Peach Magnolia Raspbery, and when they went out of business I ordered Marketplace from Southwest which smells the same. So thought I'd try a sample of AAA's PMR to see how it compares. Here's my list: Cinnamon Sticks - 1 oz. Bottle Cranberry Tea - 1 oz. Bottle Sun Ripened Raspberry - 1 oz. Bottle Limon - 1 oz. Bottle Sea Petal - 1 oz. Bottle Peach Magnolia Raspberry - 1 oz. Bottle Waterfall - 1 oz. Bottle Spiced Mahogany - 1 oz. bottle Dickens Christmas - 1 oz. Bottle Lavender Apples and Oak - 1 oz. Bottle Mexican Vanilla - 1 oz. Bottle Creamy Vanilla - 1 oz. Bottle Hawaiian Wind - 1 oz. Bottle

    Mahogany Spice

@Sarah S, thanks for the review. I have a sample of Mahogany Spice but have been on the fence about buying a pound of it. It's not my usual kind of scent, but I do like it, and no wonder, since it smells like The Rock. I just ordered wax and a couple of FO's from Candlewic and got the 50 free clamshells. Next time I need wax, I may get some Mahogany Spice. This time I reordered Lemongrass Sage and got one new scent, Pecans & Pralines. It's a little late in the season for that one, but oh, the sample smelled so good!

    Pumpkin Chai

I second what you said about Pumpkin Chai. It sells very well during the fall at one of my wholesale accounts.
  6. I wasn't impressed with this scent OOB or with the cold throw, but once I burned it, I was pleasantly surprised. The HT was good I thought, and it smells very nice. I use 8% in 444 soy wax.
  7. I have only ordered from AAA once, for jars. I did buy one bottle of FO, Allspice, and it smells good OOB, but that's all I know about AAA's fragrance oils.....not much.
  8. I get 9 oz straight sided jars that hold 8 oz of wax from Flaming Candle and The Candlemaker's Store.
  9. @Sarah S Well, I believe I deserve a virtual pat on the back, because when I got an email from Aztec promoting their new fragrance for an introductory price, I started shopping there. Finally narrowed it down to 4 bottles.....but kept thinking about all the FO's I haven't even gotten around to putting in wax yet. So I successfully resisted completing that order! So far anyway. I ordered a new Tablet from Amazon instead.
  10. I don't use humorous names except for about three, Monkey Farts, Jamaica Me Crazy, and Da Lime in Da Coconut. I bought the lime one basically because of the name. I guess I'm looking for a name that would give a customer an idea about the scent. Bombshell? What in the world does that smell like? But maybe lots of people are familiar with Victoria Secret's perfume by that name, even though I wasn't. I don't rename FO's very often, but I never liked Sea Witch, so I called it Ocean Mist or something, but the last time I made it, I named the fragrance, Mendocino Bay, after a place on the northern coast of California I have fond memories of. And they sold OK with that name.
  11. Bombshell is a VS perfume fragrance. I really don't like the name, as a perfume or as a candle. Some of you are so good at coming up with names, so I thought I'd ask for your help. Here is the scent description from Candlewic: This sparkling fresh fragrance Is a fantasy of red currant flower and sparkling fruity accords Top: apricot & passion fruit with the fresh grapefruit and yummy pineapple Middle: blends red currant flower, peony blossoms, vanilla orchid Base: amber rose, musk. Be Delicious is a DKNY perfume. I don't mind that name as much but still would like to think of something else. This one is also from Candlewic: Top: Sparkling Apple, Grapefruit, Cucumber, Dewy Greens, OzonicMiddle: Muguet, Rose, Violet, TuberoseBottom: Musks, Sandalwood, White Amber, Vanilla I've had both of these scents for awhile and have yet to do anything with them. But they would both be good for spring/summer candles. Thanks for your input.
  12. @Trappeur, I have several of the FO's from Candlewic that Belinda listed. From her list I really like Apple Cider Donut, Berry Tangerine (Love!), Pomegranate Cider and Black Tea Orange & Almond. In addition I like Succulent Agave & Oakmoss which I'm making today and Pumpkin Chai, both very good sellers. Oh and Lemongrass Sage. My granddaughter likes Clementine & Daisy a lot for a spring/summer scent. I like Summer Fresh, but I bought it when it was on sale and the price has gone up.
  13. You're not alone Belinda. I have Pumpkin Pancake from Candlewic and I also thought it smelled really similar to the PPW I have used from different suppliers.
  14. I really liked the Sugar Cookie Dough. I have read good reviews on this board about the different coffee scents she has. If I ever pare down some of the FO's I already have, I really would like to try some more from ICS. I live in Indiana, so I like to 'shop local' even though they don't have a store front. Mill Creek is also in Indiana, and I have several FO's from there. Wish I could go to both places and pick up orders. I have driven to Hamilton Ohio several times to The Candlemaker's Store to get jars and wax, around 2 1/2 hours away from me. I have some of their oils too, but they are not my favorite FO supplier.
  15. Sounds like quite an undertaking. The paraffin/soy wax blends are so much more expensive. You would have to raise your prices across the board I would think.
  16. I have Tuscan Fields from RE. It is a really unique scent, but don't ask me to describe it, because I'm terrible at that. So I don't know if it smells like Italy or not, but I like it and I like the name. https://rusticescentuals.com/Tuscan-Fields.html
  17. Wait! I have used Flaming's VBN and it is good. It's the VBN I got from Fragrance Buddy that I haven't used yet. The first VBN I ever ordered was from Indiana Candle Supply and their's was good. I just quit ordering from there, although I do like the oils I have gotten from ICS. Next to CS Very Vanilla, I like VBN best of all the vanillas I've tried.
  18. I have never ordered from Fillmore.....and sure don't want to add another supplier to my list! But in case I ever weaken I will keep the French Vanilla in mind. My favorite vanilla is Very Vanilla from CS. But I used another vanilla I had for this blend. I like Squirrelly Nut from Aztec but it wasn't a big seller for me, except for my neighbor who loves it. I bought a bottle of Clove Essential oil from a local lady who was selling most of her supplies. She got it from WSP and it's very expensive from them. I was hesitant to buy it because I have always read that essentials oils don't work well for candles, but she assured me that the Clove did and had me smell her clove candle. That's why I only used .5 parts in my recipe. I still wouldn't make a pure clove candle out of it, but I thought it was about time I tried it in a blend. I really like Strawberry Shortcake from CS; it's the only strawberry I've been keen on of the Strawberries I've tried, but I was sold on the sample of sweet Strawberry from FC. It was probably your recommendation that induced me to ask for that sample on one of my FC orders. So far the FO's you've recommended on this board and that I've tried have been winners, so thanks! Chai is one of my best sellers and the Lemon Verbena is wonderful. I don't order many FO's from Flaming. Mostly jars. But I'm slowly increasing my inventory from them. I also have Redwood & Cedar from them. Not one of my personal very favorites, but customers have liked it. I need to make some more of those candles. The only other one I have so far is Vanilla Bean Noel, but I haven't tried it yet.
  19. I know some of you do lots of custom blends but I have only done a few, and so I am especially pleased with how this concoction turned out. I have a new small wholesale account and the client wanted a custom scent the name of her new shop, Farmhouse Market. Something 'warm and country feeling' she said. I looked up Farmer's Market fragrances and told her that they were all a mixture of fruit and spices, but she said she and her partner were leaning more toward spices and no fruit. So I asked her about using vanilla and a nutty scent along with cinnamon and she agreed to that. So here's what I came up with: 2 parts Vanilla 1 part Potpourri Spice (NG) 1 part Gingerbread 1 part Squirrelly Nut (Aztec) .5 part Clove I think she will be pleased with this fragrance. And speaking of spicy scents, I got a sample of Nutmeg & Spice in my Flaming Candle order today and it smells wonderful OOB. @Trappeur, I know you use a lot of FC fragrances. Have you tried this one? I also got a pound of Sweet Strawberry because I had gotten a sample of that with an order and it smelled good and had good reviews.
  20. I just don't get why anyone would want a candle that smells like A-1 Steak Sauce.
  21. Oh so many good bakery scents! Here are a few of my favorites: Lemon Pound Cake - Fragrance Buddy Blueberry Cobbler - Cierra Pumpkin Pecan Waffle - Cierra Hot Orange Danish - Nature's Garden Pumpkin Souffle - Candlescience Cinnamon Stick - Candlescience Strawberry Shortcake - Candlescience Baked Apple - Rustic Escentuals Caramel Pecan Pie - Aztec Apple Cider Donut - Candlewic
  22. Oh I am using them. People are liking the looks of the jar. I can give customers a good price on an elegant jar candle since I got such a good deal.
  23. Funny how we have different opinions of suppliers. Through the years, I have bought 63 one pound bottles from Nature's Garden and out of all of those there were about 3 scents I didn't care for personally. To me, NG's FO's have a good hot throw in soy wax and some of the scents are among my best sellers. I also like Candlewic and again, only a couple of FO's have been duds to me.
  24. I have a bunch of NG fragrance oils, but the only one in those two categories I've tried is Lily of the Valley. I don't like floral scents but it sold pretty well at my wholesale account store. I have one customer who just loves it and that's the only scent she buys from me.
