  1. Get revamped fragrance line ordered and get wax/wicks, etc restocked. Work with new potential wholesale account on packaging change to fit their theme. Sign up for the big summer 3 day festival. Work on getting wholesale accounts. Update and increase online advertising. Network with other home businesses in the area. Pay off creditcard!
  2. Thanks on the mistake in Lilac. I didn't even notice it. Photos: supplier fragrance photos, free photo searches. Places like dreamstime, bigstock, istock and others...just spend too many hours looking for the perfect picture. There are lots of sites out there.
  3. It's an awful weird way to list fragrances. I had to read it a couple times to get what they were saying.
  4. I decided to go dye free a few months ago because most of my sales are to an eco friendly store franchise. My debut at a craft show was Dec 3rd and it made no difference if the melts were colored or not. I had both there. I still offer colored (free) if they wish to order that way.
  5. 6. Is Heartfelt gone? I can't find the website. I hope someone is going to carry her oils. I have switched from using them; but could always add them again since they tested great.
  7. Great job! I am so excited too...lol!
  8. Stupid big stores...scamming on our warmers!
  9. A few posts back LadyJo said she got a hold of them.
  10. Canon Pixma came free with my computer...that's why.
  11. I say go for it! If you put effort into your labels they can't be that bad. You should see some of the labels I have seen...definitely afterthoughts...or no thought at all! For your display - tablecloths, a small xmas tree or pine tree this time of year does wonders. Make sure product is laid out neatly and priced/ or price signs. You should do fine. If you are super nervous...try a few displays, take some photos and post here for us to go over with you...same with your label. This group is great for constructive criticism and praise.
  12. UPS and FedX (etc) give discounts based upon volume...if the customer signs up for the discounts. Some suppliers just do not shop around (IMO). If I can get a 8% discount from Fedx by doing my shipping through their online site...why can't a supplier find that same deal plus better for their volume?????
  13. Well, whaddya know... Got an email today from someone who attended the show on Saturday. She wanted a Eucalyptus & Thyme candle as I sold out before she could snatch one up. And then she said she owns a store and would lik eto hook me up with her purchasing person!!! Yes!!!!
  14. What is the sale price? We don't have a Kroger here; but I may be in the vicinity of one Tuesday afternoon.
  15. Yeah! I am assuming this is consignment? Make sure you have good inventory paperwork. I make a printout of what I drop off, have 2 copies and we both sign each copy. I have one for my records and they have one for theirs. I also do a consignment agreement which clearly states terms and payment info.
  16. Excellent day at the craft show! $592 in sales! Yeah! I was the only candle person, so I am sure that helped. We were busy most of the day. Afternoon slowed but not that much. The last 15 minutes it was super slow. From what I heard most every crafter was happy with their results. Still not what they used to get at this show 5 years ago; but better than last year. The dollar store boxes that fit my candle jars perfectly (with the jingle bells I hot glued on) went fantastic. People loved having a ready made gift. Found out my niece is a fantastic salesperson! I am so proud of her.
  17. Year Round Top Sellers: Candle Science: Rain Water, Sunwashed Linen WYW/Bittercreek North: Lavender & Sweet Basil, Island Kola Nut (concentrated, so you need less per pound) Southern Scentsations: Lemongrass Bittercreek South: Lime Basil On the other hand I absolutely love: Aroma Haven's Fresh Sliced Cucumber " " /KY's Blackberry Sage But my customers apparently do not.
  18. My wholesale accounts just email the order and I input it into a free Avery invoice template. I can put in regular price and wholesale price and it calculates it. The one I use has an order number blank and an invoice number blank. For the order number I use the date and some sort of initials for the business. For the invoice number I use my invoice numbers and again the initials. It has 10 item lines. If I need more I use another form, the first with a hypen and "A"; the second with a hypen "B". You could set the invoice up with the customer name and leave the rest blank; then print some off for them. I print one off when the order comes in without invoice number/delivery info. I use this as my order "Ticket". When finished I add the delivery and invoice number and print and save the final copy.
  19. I'm one of those people who sees an unusual candle name and just have to try it.
