  1. I know...how sad...seems like some of their prices went up as well. I understand that (don't like it but I understand it)...hate no more samples..not even one!
  2. Was just about to place an order and noticed there wasn't a spot for free samples anymore....am I missing it or did they do away with it? Since their (edited by mod) sale I don't see that perk anymore.
  3. I add whatever I have on hand. sometimes it's 464 and sometimes it's C-3
  4. I use KY's tart/votive blend for tarts but add 20% soy to mine..helps the dimple look. Use oils from NG, AH/RE and other companies and don't notice a plastic type smell. Also use the foil cupcake liners. Maybe add the extra soy? Not sure..never had this experience except when it was a particular fo I didn't like. Guess I'm not much help on this...sorry.
  5. Thanks for your reply. I've put it in red print on my label at the bottom so it'll stand out. We'll see what happens. I'd rather they know than create a problem.
  6. Thanks Coconut....it's a hard scent to get right. appreciate you letting me know. doesn't sound like what I'm looking for.
  7. When you use a fo such as Rosemary Mint that may cause a slight tingly sensation to "delicate tissues" (women here) do you put that statement on your label to avoid use in this area? I've been going back & forth on this issue and can't decide. Wonder if adding this to your label would turn people off & prevent sales or is this doing them a service. What do you do? Karen
  8. Grama...thanks..I need to order some fo's from Elements & will add this to it.
  9. Coconut...let us know how the Nag is...been looking for a really good one. Karen
  10. The laminator solved all my problems...I now have a full head of hair!! (No longer pulling it out in frustration) . I know some have used it & didn't like it but I love mine and works like a dream. The film is pricey but I look for the 40 & 50% off coupons when I need to buy more. They run the discounts practically every week. Karen
  11. Kyme..I must be missing them..where on their site are they? I looked but can't find. Thanks
  12. AH/RE is Aroma Haven/Rustic Essentials http://rusticescentuals.com/ Their Pumpkin Creme Brulee is body safe but only up to .07%
  13. Would love to find those myself....so cute!
  14. Way to go Katshe!! It's my favorite melting method and works like a dream for me too!! Congrats. Karen
  15. Have fun and let us know how it went. Karen
  16. Gee..I don't really know how long it takes..I never really timed it. Maybe 5-10 minutes. I do it over simmering not boiling water. I remove it from the water bath when there is a few chuncks unmelted and keep stirring. The heat will melt the remainding soap bits. Good luck...it is much easier pouring with a spout rather than from a bowl.
  17. The way you do your wax is pretty much the same thing except I don't put a mason ring in the bottom..never thought about doing it. I use my 4 lb pour pot also. With some of my designs I'll melt about 40 oz. in one...as the little chuncks melt down you'll have plenty of room for stirring, adding fo, etc. The reason I like the dbl boiler method is I can keep my thermometer in it to keep track of my temps. It's just the way I started doing it and it works for me.
  18. I use NG's but I personally think it's a bit on the light side..but then I don't do candles. It is very good in b&b products
  19. I used to use the clear packing tape on my labels and it does take a long time, especially if you have to trim them to fit. I finally bought a Xyron 900 laminator at Michaels (used a 50% coupon) and love it. I had to buy the cartridge of dbl sided laminator paper but it has made my life so much easier. The only time I use the packing tape now is if I only need 1 or two items and even then if it's a product/scent I make often I just go ahead and do a whole sheet. You might want to check into one. If you buy and don't like it they have a 60 day refund policy. I also use the waterproof 8 1/2 by 11 labels from Elements with the laminator. This way I'm pretty sure my labels are protected. Hope this helps some. Karen
  20. I use the .75 oz. twist up tubes from Elements and it gives me a 1 oz. product.
  21. The name works for candles & tarts but I want to use it in soaps & sugar scrubs and it doesn't sound as inviting in those products. Can't seem to come up with anything.....would appreciate suggestions. Thanks Karen
