  1. Yikes is right!!! No thanks. I've been using the one from AH/RE that is the Pier 1 type and it's very popular and strong in my para-soy tarts. Never tried the KY one so I don't know how it compares.
  2. ksranch..that sounds wonderful...any other favorites from JS?
  3. I use the KY Para-Soy and the only way I have found to get rid of the ripples is to add about 15-20% container soy...I use 444. I tried pouring cooler but it did not help. Some have found it did but I did not get the same results. Unless it really bothers you, I don't think it really matters to the customer. People seem to be scarfing up the BH&G clamshell tarts from Wal-Mart and if you look at them, they are pretty rough looking.
  4. Everything is so cute..love them!!! The tart warmers..are they electric and if so what wattage of bulb? (I think I see a plug/cord). What size tart do you think will fit in the bowl...1 ounce? What talent!!!
  5. Peppermint Patty, Banana Cream Pie, Lemon Poppyseed, Mrs. Claus Cookies, Nappa Valley Harvest, Pink Sugar (I second that one) are a few that I use..I only do tarts (para-soy).
  6. I've ordered it in the past from KY and this year from AH..so far no problems or complaints. I only use it it tarts though (para-soy) so don't know if that makes any difference.
  7. I tried it a couple of times but the fo's I tried thinned and clouded the base. Didn't think I added too much but who knows. Give it a shot..you might like it.
  8. Try mixing it with a fruit like Strawberry or Cherry (not a bakery one). I mix it with a plain strawberry and it's good. I only make tarts though so don't know about candles. I can't sell it by itself though either.
  9. I haven't found one but I did try the one from AH/RE I think it was the one KY used to carry....I personally did not like it...had no familar Apple Butter notes IMO. I think it's called Apple Clove Butter...was not impressed.
  10. Another Christmas Past lover here!! 11-1 is not that far off if you can wait.
  11. I recently saw at my local Wal-Mart that they had warmers by Scentsationals (hope I'm not mistaken on the name but I believe that was it) They also of course had the Better Homes & Garden ones too.
  12. If you don't mind sharing...I'd like to know too but certainly understand "trade" secrets..
  13. I use this oil but I only do tarts so it smells yummy in them. Always amazes me how a wick can change the smell of fo's.
  14. I'm the odd man/woman...my "free standing" tarts out sell clamshells & portion cups..so much so that I rarely do any in them anymore. Which is a shame...they are quicker and easier. I do bakery shaped tarts, i.e. cupcakes, muffins, mini-cake bites, cinnamon roll shapes, etc. Karen www.sunharborscents.etsy.com
  15. Smaller molds..I guess that's why my mini cake bites crumbled when I tried to unmold. Can't have that!! Switched back to KY's tart/votive wax...It's a shame..I really liked ME's wax..thought it was a tad better than KY's but I need consistency especially since my busy time is upon me. However, lover her oils and will definitely continue to buy those.
  16. I went back to KY's tart wax from AH/RE. Your case may be just fine..the way I knew mine was different was because it looked different. The grains were bigger and the color was slightly off white. Angie at ME says she is using it and acts the same way as the old batch. I just didn't find that to be true in my case. I was uncomfortable with the wax being milky white when fully melted and the "thicker" consistency. I've worked with quite a few different waxes all from different suppliers and none when fully melted was a milky color..all became clear.
  17. Thank you so much for your reply...I too stopped after this last batch and had to order from another company. I agree...love her oils and will definitely continue to buy them!!!
  18. I'm hoping it's candle nose. I just poured this fo this morning in tarts but it's some I bought before she totally sold out to AH/RE. They (AH/RE) say all the fo's will be the original formulas KY carried...I sure hope that's the case!! Never appreciated Vickey's prices and shipping costs until she sold the business. I have ordered the Toasted Marshmallow and some others from AH/RE recently and they seem to be the same as when I bought from Vickey.
  19. No one encountered this problem with wax before?
  20. I've been purchasing my tart/votive wax (para-soy blend) from Miami Erie for a while now and have been extremely happy. This last batch I received on Saturday looked different...larger grains and had a slight off white color. That did not bother me, however, today when I went to use it, it did not melt the same way. I remained a milky color when fully melted and never became clear. It also seemed a bit "thicker" in consistensy when fully melted. I used it to make tarts anyway because that's all I had. It was kinda hard judging color when adding the dye because of the cloudy/milky-ness of it. Poured into my silicone molds let cool and unmolded. First batch seemed okay. Second batch in a different mold not so good. When unmolding using my silicone mini cake bite mold the tops totally crumbled. I let them fully cool. I emailed Angie at ME and she said this is a "new" batch made by the supplier on his new equipment and said the wax was fine. She uses it and has not had any problems. (She owns Front Porch Candle Co). She is extremely nice and quick to respond. Has anyone ever had this experience..not speaking of just Miami Erie but with wax in general. Should I continue to be concerned? I have orders to fill and am now doubting how my product will do. I plan to test some of the tarts I poured today to see how scent is but I can't hold orders up for too long. Must mention I do add 20% soy to the blend but I've always done this. Any thoughts?
  21. Must have snoozed...site says spicy apples & peaches..sold out...bummer
