  1. Lilywicks Scented Creations There...I like it with the "Scented Creations", which will then include things like aroma beads, smelly jellys, and dipped plush. What do you all think? It's unique at least. :smiley2:
  2. Well my migraines have typically been once every month or two, but I have had more problems recently. I don't want to give up on candles, but I think I will need to tone down the power testing or test in my guest room where I don't spend a lot of time.
  3. Darn.... http://www.lilypadcandleshoppe.com/ there is already "The Lily Pad" Candle Shoppe...I was leaning toward that one. What do you guys think of LilyWicks or Lilywix?
  4. My idea's so far are Lily's Lites Lily's Landing Lites on Lily Lily's Delites The Lily Pad Waxed Lily Lilywicks (my hubby's input)
  5. I live on Lily Rd and was trying to think up business names with Lily in it somehow. The best name I came up with before this idea was Firefly Delites... Any ideas? BTW it's for candle making. Thanks. Jamie
  6. I am testing my little heart out and man I think it's giving me headaches. About a week ago I was in 2 different ER's 2 days in a row for a bad migraine. I have had some migraines in the past, but never this bad. Also having a lot more regular headaches. I think I need to slow down the testing. I have been burning 4-5 candles at a time (comparing 5 different wicks). Today I was burning and didn't want to mess up the test so after I got a headache I just put up with it but couldn't wait till the time was up till I could blow them out. The first 4 candles are almost done...but after that I think I will just do one at a time. Anyone else have problems with too much FO making you sick or giving you a headache? Jamie
  7. Scent sounds interesting. They look awesome.
  8. Acu para 30 container blend mixed 50/50 with the IGI pillar blend. I know that the container blend is probably why because it's soft. I will try mixing more pillar and less container until they pop out.
  9. Hi, I am testing my tarts and I love the HT of them and the look and feel of them, but they are too soft and wont pop out of the bowl after cooled? I even tried putting it in the freezer for 10 min or so. I just got wax under my nails trying to get it out. Should I try to make these harder so they pop out?? Or should I leave well enough alone? Do customers generally find this important or do they usually burn one until gone? Thanks, Jamie
  10. Anyone know of a 70/30 parrafn wax other than the accu blend 30?
  11. There was another thread recently that reminded me of yours... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83928 Different wax I think but I wonder if something changed in the wax?
  12. van yulay, think I already did send you my addy in a PM. Let me know if you need it again. I would love to try the lotion.
  13. Yes, they do resemble meat...I am sure they don't smell like it though.
  14. Waxflower, I think the "exploding" is mostly with palm tins or containers melted on a warmer. Because the wax is so hard that when you melt from below the hot wax builds up inside and then...well has to come out. I know people do make tarts out of palm and don't seem to have that problem. I don't use palm, but have been researching it too. Good luck. Jamie
  15. lol, mine is sitting next to my computer right now. Just ordered $80 worth of stuff from Aztec. Lol.
  16. Ok, so I poured my first one with the large lonestar wood wick in a 10 oz apothecary jar. It's 3.75 inches wide. Wax is Acu para 30 (which is 70% para and 30% soy). 6% FO Jamacia Me Crazy. Poured around 165 degrees. Wick trimmed to 1/8 inch before first burn. Wick secured with a wood wick tab that came with the wicks and a wick stick um. Let cure for a few days. Here is a video link showing the crackle sound. This video is from the first burn- this is MY test: (Oh, and the reason there are 2 flames showing on my wick is because I tried to trim the wick with scissors before buying some end snippers to trim with and got a small crack in the wick. This did not seem to affect the burn.) And here is the "Wood Wick" brand burning...this test is not mine, from someone else on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgvEn8-J6o0 First burn went ok, but MP was about 5/8 inch deep...maybe a little too deep? This was after buring for 3.5 hours. Glass was not too hot to handle at end of first burn. Cold and hot throw was good. Flame was not unsafe looking. Second burn in progress. I just pinched the burned part off the top of the wick. This was very easy to do and the candle re-lit well. We are now 3 hours into this test and the wick still has a nice crackle. I will keep you posted as tests continue.
