  1. Yeah, this this one I had to poke holes and insert the wick since they didn't stay put anyways. So I will just start testing like that I guess.
  2. Mini- Yeah it's supposed to look like that with the crystalization. (is that how you spell that?) Stella- So what do you use to stick your wicks to the bottom for testers?? Thanks for the silicone tip. Also, I read somewhere that some people poke relief holes in their GG and do a repour to prevent air trapping...do you do this? Jamie
  3. Ok, I got my GG from Candlescience yesterday and I poured it...I think the pattern turned out pretty good. Poured hot and covered with a box. I just left the jar on the hot cookie sheet I used to prewarm the jar. The scent is Apple Blossom. I am trying a double wick CSN 7 since that was what was recommended in the layered glass glow tutorial. I guess we will start there. It's a 4 inch wide 10 oz apothecary jar. One problem I had was that I used an ez wick setter with my wicks, had wick stickums on them and when I poured the wicks came loose. What I ended up doing is just pulling them out and inserting after they cooled. Any ideas for getting the wick to better stick in the jars?? Did I do something wrong? Anyway, it is beautiful and I really like this wax so far...now for wicking it. Jamie
  4. Well, I ordered a 10lb sample of the j60 today. Swans is getting rid of the Acu Para 30 and replacing it with CB30...both are 70% para and 30% soy. They say they are pretty much the same with different names. Just wanted to see how the J60 was.
  5. Well, I am not sure how to make the logo larger due to the height of the banner...does that make sense? It would be stretched out side to side to make it bigger because it already goes top to bottom pretty much. I will see what I can do. Thanks for all of your opinions. Jamie
  6. I am trying to decide on a banner to go with my logo etc. Wanna vote on your favorite? Feel free to leave comments too. Thanks! Jamie Will number them 1-3 on top and 4-5 on bottom.
  7. Lol, when I first saw the picture I thought it was going to be some sort of gadget that analyzes the make up of the FO...so you can see if the formula changes...maybe that will be next. Lol.
  8. I have been using this and I have had good HT. I have made tarts and containers with 6% FO in a parasoy blend.
  9. LOL, sounds like you guys had a great time.
  10. As far as candles...try to decide what TYPE you want to do...containers, pillars etc. You can start there and I would say really get to know one type before moving on to the next. When you have a question, just use the search tool first because there are a lot of answers to your questions in there. There are so many different types of waxes, wicks, etc. I am still a newbie, but I have learned so much on here. Then you might have an idea of what type of wax you want to use...soy, parrafin, palm, paraffin mixed with soy. I would find out where your closest wax supplier is near you and see what types of wax they have to offer then decide. Shipping can be as much as the wax sometimes!! You can save a bundle if you get your wax closer to home. Good luck. Jamie
  11. Leah, no I have a graphic designer doing it for me in illustrator. I would have no clue...don't do graphic design at all.
  12. THANK YOU ALL for your opinions. I have chosen #2. I think it is perfect for me and will be versitile yet easy to use on labels.
  13. I am using a parasoy blend. 70% para 30% soy. 4 inch jar, double wicked.
  14. Just asking because it looks shallower from the outside and then when I dip something into it, it looks bigger. What is the proper way? My MP looks 1/3 inch from looking on the outside of the candle and then when I dip a peice of thin cardboard in it, it measures more like 1 inch...too big.
  15. Ok, here are my narrowed down logo designs. Colors can be changed. Wanna vote on your favorite? I know the wording under the blue candle is hard to read...I am in the process of getting that changed already.
  16. Ok, I am starting a new thread with the narrowed down logos. Come join me there.
  17. What colors would you think would work the best? I had just mentioned to her doing some bolder colors and this is the edit...now I can change the colors easily.
  18. Ok, here are some new logos to see. I don't do these myself so I get her some feedback and this is what she came up with. New votes? Opinions? Colors are easy to change too if there is one you like with a different color in mind. I just wasn't too fond of the greens or oranges last time. Thanks.
  19. Well it is looking like 5 is a very popular vote.
  20. I can't take credit...I am having someone do it for me. They use illustrator I think.
  21. Good point on the "pot leaf" thing. See this is why you have to have others look too. Lol.
  22. I am in the process of choosing a logo...anyone have any thoughts...here are my choices so far.
