  1. I love WSP also. My mil cant live without it. sells well.
  2. White Tea & Papaya Blackberry Lemonade Gingerbread Latte I use parasoy, but they throw great.
  3. I wear this every summer and the one from WSP is a perfect dupe, although I know many are not happy ordering from there lately. Its also expensive, but it is perfect to my nose.
  4. Thanks. Just wanted to make sure you never had any problems with doing that. I usually don't have alot of leftover, but last year I did.
  5. For the scents that you use for fall or Christmas....do you order fresh each season or do you use up what was left from last year?
  6. Wow-I thought the Yankee tarts were 1 oz. Didn't realize they were that small. Maybe I should consider doing the smaller size. Thanks for the info! They are a bit too large in my opinion, anyway. Almost need to be cut down.
  7. I use the 2 oz cups, because when filled it is only 1.2 oz of wax give or take which is equal to a Yankee tart in size. I sell for $1.25 each or 5 for $5 and they sell well. I also sell clamshells for $3 each...most people go for the portion cups, since I started selling them.
  8. well I do like KD Essentials just fine. I think it sounds good. Good luck with your business!
  9. These aren't exactly what you're looking for but my favorites are: Pumpkin Creme Brulee- AH/RE Cranberry Marmalade-CS Mistletoe-CS Gingerbread Latte-Backwoods Gingerbread Spice Cake-Candlewic and I agree on the Jack Frost from BCN All best sellers last fall! I had trouble selling the Pumpkin Souffle from CS, but it is very popular here. Amish Harvest from Peak also sold very well in the fall up through Christmas.
  10. Good question. I hope someone has an answer to this, because I have a lot of it and it is greasy/sticky on it's own.
  11. ICS I use: Cactus & Sea Salt Orange Chiffon Cake Aloha Pineapple Key Lime Pie That's all I can think of, but these are all great sellers for me. I want to try more.
  12. uh guys...this thread was brought back from the dead from 2007. However, still a good issue. I don't think people are as "into" the soy hype these days, but I still get those who ask. I am straight up and tell them why I blend the two together.
  13. I'm learning to look at candle making as a talent, not a recipe. We all share recipes that we love...but we can't share our talents with other people. Keep them as your talents and don't assumed it is all to be shared. I just found out yesterday, that a girl I used to work with started a candle business. I didn't help her at all...I haven't even worked with her in two years. It's still upseting to see someone out selling candles that I know. They aren't great looking, but they smelled okay. I was half tempted to buy one to try it out, but they would've known what I was up to. I sympathize with you all. However, I know my candles are great and I work hard to make them that way! I know that you all do, too. (or we wouldn't spend so much time here together, lol)
  14. I call my clamshells "mini melts" and my portion cups are "scent shots"
  15. I liked the Gingerbread Spice Cake! Red Apple Peel is good too.
  16. Maybe nobody sells body spray anymore? Is that a thing of the past? I guess not with Bath & Body works selling it. Anyone?
  17. Can anyone recommend a good body spray base? I want one that dries rather quickly. I got a sample from BCN and it is too wet feeling. Also any good bath or shower gel bases?
  18. Kris- I think you could just use the soy alone...the J223 was sooty for me. I am sure it works with some wick combo, but I wan't patient enough to find it. I am currently working with the CBL 130 from Candlewic. Easy to wick, very clean burning...slightly finicky with some fragrances, but it has like 50% soy so some just won't work.
  19. I would also review your pricing. You should be adding the packaging in to your price.(which I am sure you do) I would find other ways to cut costs than to skimp on packaging...the packaging sells the product. It's VERY important. On the other hand,I think the shipping and reducing your fragrance list are good choices. I have been trying to do the same. I order everything as local as I can. It's hard to stay away from all the FO though! I only have 10 fragrances right now...but it will be closer to 15 very shortly. I am going to try to keep it there.
  20. gotcha-thanks! I didn't think to look for the definition there.
  21. What does it mean if a trademark is "dead"? I did a search of a fragrance name and it says "dead" beside the record. Does that mean it is no longer trademarked?
  22. I know it's tough...I stink at this anyway. What I came up with also, but haven't decided: Glistening Pear Pear Blossom or Pears & Blossoms
  23. What could I call Pear Glace (VS type) from Candlescience? Help please...I'm making the labels. TIA
  24. They are just as easy to pour as container candles. I personally like to up the % of FO that I use in these...because there is no wick you don't have to worry about a little extra FO. Also you may want to test the wax you use to see if it comes out of the clamshells easily...you may have to blend with a pillar or votive blend so they pop out okay. However, I get away with a container blend in mine. Just give it a try. It really is easy.
  25. BCN here too, just because I started there and don't want to switch.
