  1. Yes I have a feeling that I AM in trouble with her so nearby. I will probably have her whole collection before too long.
  2. Here I just recently found out that I am 10 minutes from Backwoods Fragrance and so I rushed right on over there after reading some great reviews. If you haven't tried them...YOU MUST! I am having great luck with their oils so far...it's like as soon as the flame hits the wax you can start to smell it already. I use parasoy and I used the Gingerbread Latte after less than 24 hours and it smelled up my house. The entire downstairs and heading up the staircase! Also the Watermelon Margarita is very summery and I am getting a great throw with that too. OOB the Pomegranate & Peach is great. Can't wait to burn it...and there are so many more to try.
  3. Laura, I quit doing candles while I was pregnant, but just because I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. I am not saying that it's harmful or not, just that I didn't know, so I didn't take the chance. My business has suffered a little from it, but I am back going at it again.
  4. Ya, I was surprised when no one replied with all those great reviews. I have some if you want to give it a try. I am using it for tarts right now, until I have time to work with it some more.
  5. Do you think all of the Heinz CD Coreless wicks are the same from every supplier? Or if I order them from a different supplier will I have to retest? TIA Jen
  6. Hello! I wanted to recommend insurance through the Ohio Arts and Crafts Guild. It is through Benchmark insurance and they cover PA residents also. It is pretty cheap and covers your liability and insures you products. Do a search for Benchmark Insurance and you will find it. Also you will charge sales tax at craft shows, so make sure to get that sales tax license and register your business name with the Dept of State as mentioned in the previous post...and then you are good to go.
  7. For stores that are afraid to buy upfront, you could do consignment. I do that with a local store. They collect the money and then pay me my percentage at the end of the month. I also let them know that they are responsible for their percentage still if something gets stolen...that way they keep a good eye on my stuff. I replenish once a month or more if needed and keep track of their inventory for them. I don't have any stores that purchase wholesale yet, so can't help you there. Jen
  8. I am going to try propay. I have heard that it's good and it's cheap too. I think $25 a year, but don't quote me on that. All processing is done online. I don't know if it would work for you and your application, but you should check it out.
  9. I see them on the "Whats New" Section of the website. They are cute. I may have seen those containers last time I was at Early American Candle Supply, here in PA. They are not on their website, but they were in the showroom I think, cause I remember thinking, "that would make a cute candle". Maybe give them a call.
  10. Thank you. Yes, I already poured full 16 oz. Masons and have tested them the whole way to the bottom. I am now working on the 8 oz. Masons and i will test them all. I just wondered if it worked out to be about the same for both sizes...thats all. I mostly wanted to estimate how many wicks I needed in what sizes so I could place an order.
  11. For those of you who use 8 and 16 oz square masons, is the wicking the same in both? Mine are both the same diameter, so I would think they would be the same. I just finished testing my new 16 oz masons and I am moving on to the 8's. I use CD wicks if that makes any difference. TIA Jen
  12. I love the Lemon Pound Cake from Bitter Creek South. That would make a great sink freshener. I gets rid of any bad kitchen smells when I burn my candles made with it. It has just enough sweet to make it a nice tolerable lemon scent. Highly recommend it! Oh, and it's very strong too.Jen
  13. I am going to try the hang tags out, even though some say they get bent up. My jars look better without a labels stuck to the side. I also have a warning label on the bottom with my info on it too, in case the hang tag gets pitched out...they can still find me to reorder. That's why I don't want to do labels on the lids cause I think they will get thrown out.
  14. I use a 50/50 blend, but not of those waxes. I use a HTP 105 or a CD 14/16 depending on the fragrance. I seem to get a better throw with the CD wicks though. I use the square masons. Hope that helps. Jen
  15. I would go with the Pumpkin for sure, Cinnamon is always popular, and the cranberry sounds great. I wouldn't do both the cinnamon and snickerdoodle because they both have the cinnamon notes and would be too similar. I would steer away from florals or clean scents just due to the time of the year. Fall and winter people look for more comforting scents IMO.
  16. Hello! I am new here. I have been making candles for four years, but recently had to change waxes due to the Pure Soy being discontinued. Anyway, I decided on SP wax from WSP, because it has an awesome scent throw, however it is hard for me to get the wicking right. I cannot find anything that will burn clean. I am getting soot with all that I have tried including CD and RRD. I was hoping for some help from other users, because the reviews on this wax are great. I know someone is having good luck. TIA Jen
