I love the AWS! So funny! My hubby has that too. But, I agree on the sensitivities. It might not be allergies but maybe just sensitivities to certain scents, but it's definately very real. I used to work at a cosmetic counter and there were many scents that I couldn't tolerate. Mainly florals. I don't make many floral scents for that reason. I make myself sick when I pour Lilac.

A Lovespell dupe would be good for love...it sells well for me. Guess that depends on your area. I use the one from Candlescience.

I am interested in trying the coconut wax after reading the thread about it. I think it sounds interesting. It might be a new market to tap into. I love trying new things.

I agree...Peaks is the best I have tried. It is pretty sweet.

I have the best luck with Candle Science and TN with my parasoy, but I use many other suppliers too. Peak's, Backwood's, ICS are other favorites. It's generally easy to find plenty that throw in parasoy. You will always get some duds. Good luck to you. FO is addicting when you get going.

I have a whole list of oils I want to try from there. I need to get going on that order. Please tell me how the Lemonberry Crumble turns out. That is on my wish list and it is for a friend who buys lemon pound cake candles, as well as blueberry muffins candles, from me all the time. I thought this would be up her ally. The best of both worlds.

sbs- I wanted to let you know that I had the one from BCS and I was extremely disappointed with the quality. I got some similar containers from Elements recently that were on sale. They are little tins with windows and they are a much better quality. I got the half ounce size. I am using them so people don't have to open the clamshells up to smell, since they break apart easy.

I used to mix BCN Lemon Pucker with BCN Strawberry Jam, but I now carry Backwood's Blackberry Lemonade...it's very nice too.

I disagree. You can get a pretty candle with either if you are patient and learn how to work with the wax. 415 can make a very nice candle.

I would agree. Anything more than a film is too much for my preference. Try wicking up and see what happens.

I recommend using a pillar votive blend, like PB so they pop out of your packaging easier. I mix that with a container parasoy. works well for me. Good luck.

Sliver-I understand that. I have been in business for 6 years and I have been working with the same jars for quite a while now. I want something new and was looking to see what works for others. I am bored with candlemaking lately. I wondered what styles appeal to other customers. My masons sell fine already...really no great reason to change other than boredom. sbs- As far a jelly jars looking homemade and cheap, isn't that what you are going for? The appeal of a homemade product? I guess it could work either way. In my area I know that apothecary won't sell too much because of the price I would need to charge. People in my area won't spend that on one candle.

Wow...lots of variation on what sells for everyone. This is going to be a tough choice. Its a very interesting topic though.

I currently sell 8 and 16 oz square masons. I am getting bored with these (sometimes I think I want to give myself a reason to test again) and I was wondering what jar sizes/types I should consider. Are jelly jars still popular or is something bigger a better idea? Thanks

Maybe add some soy to add some opaque-ness, but I use their CBL-130. It is a blend of paraffin and soy. Good throw and nice and creamy. It is for container candles mainly. Maybe give that a try too.

Candlewic is good for wax. I do not use their oils, but I use the CBL-130 for candles. They have some other nice waxes also, depending on what you are looking for. If you want some good, local oils, order from Backwoods Fragrance Supply. I love her oils. She is on my side of the state, about 10 minutes from me in Western PA...but shipping to you should be reasonable being that you are in PA. Also Fillmore container is in PA...I don't know how far from you right off, but they are good for candle jars. You also should try Candlescience if you haven't already. They are in NC, but ship reasonable and fast to PA and they have awesome oils as well. Plus, they are good for wicks and other supplies. HTH

I have pretty much switched over to clamshells tarts myself...they are the most popular thing right now. The portion tarts sold like crazy but they are labor intensive for such an inexpensive item...so I went back to clams. I do wickless candles by request.

When I did the co-op it was very confusing. They authorized my credit card for the warmers without the shipping, then that money was returned to my account...then a couple of weeks later after I had already received my warmers, the money finally came out. It was hard to figure out. I ended up selling mine for $15 each, which is really a steal, if that helps. The retail price through candlewarmers.com is $13.99 but that doesn't include shipping (if they ordered it direct). That may help you with price and eventually you should get an invoice. You could probably sell them for $15-18 depending on your area.

Gingerbread Latte is my personal favorite! Also the Blackberry Lemonade has been a great seller and has an awesome throw in candles. Connie is great! You will love Backwoods. 10 minutes from my house, too.
