  2. I actually got it from my local grocery store..they have a mix and match 6 pack thing so I got 6 different types of beer to soap with..eek!! thanks you guys for all of your compliments.. I cant wait to test them out !!
  3. thanks number2..I totally appreciate the heads up!
  4. this one is scented with sandalwood this one is scented with a manly scent that I cant remember the name to right now..this one was a little weird to soap with it moved VERY fast..
  5. I am looking for a Strawberry FO that doesnt discolor to a tan or brown..I am wanting to make a pink soap so if it discolors to pink that'll work fine.. anyone tried the BB Strawberry FO?? think strawberry shortcake-the cartoon girl think strawberry off the bush..thats the strawberry I am aiming for.. thanks tons for your help
  6. I was just wondering about this too..I am thinking colors and scents..but I NEVER like to go too over the top..I worry about having some too 'holiday' type stuff left over after the holiday.. but I am also looking more towards guy type stuff..as far as scents go..
  7. perfect for christmas I LOVE LOVE LOVE your swirls
  8. is the fourth photo it cured..or is it still curing..I kinda like how it looks in the fourth pic such an awesome mix of color..VERY earthy reminds me of lava flow.. love it..
  9. awesome stuff.. how heavy is the flower soap?? it looks HUGE!! I love it.. my fave is santas pipe..very festive and I just LOVE the speckles
  10. this is my first attempt at layering..I have been having issues with swirling sooo in order to boost my self esteem with color I decided maybe layering may be my thing its pineapple cilantro
  11. its actually making me hungry looks like lemon merigue pie !! I would guess it heated then cooled quickly..but thats just my guess..I am certain its just a looks thing.. awesome layering!!
  12. i have found depending on how much you are sending..a good amount of bars lets say typically 4-5 oz bars and sending maybe more than 5 or so the flat rate boxes are cheaper.. but anything less than that as far as size and weight its cheaper to send using your regular bubble mailer or padded envelope.. I do like that the flat rate box is so convienent when it comes to just going and picking it up but I have found it just depends on the weight..
  13. I totally want to bite it its soo pretty..
  14. is it still in loaf form or did you cut it up?? and yes posting the recipe may help in troubleshooting what went wrong...if anything it may just need a little more time curing..
  15. could it be fragrance oil?? but yes, posting a recipe may be in order..
  16. I dare NOT count..it scares me on many levels
  17. I think everyone has different idea of a good soap..I know I have 2 or 3 solid recipes but I still like to dabble and tweak my recipes.. my testers(outside my house) never say anything bad about what I give them..I am open to criticism but they never seem to give me negative stuff..maybe they dont know what I am asking, maybe they fear giving me something negative will get me mad, maybe they arent critical of soap..who knows.. I just go with a soap that I like..just when I have a 'great' bar moment..I come across an oil or butter I havent used then I experiment more.. I guess I am of NO help but..just know I share in your thoughts..
  18. my bars using RPB are finally cured so I just started using it..I just noticed it was a bit..blah..just not as fab-o as I thought it would be.. I mean its great..maybe I just had too high of expectations.. I am going to tweak my recipe but was wondering if anyone else has used it and what are your experiences and how much.. thanks all..
  19. every recipe should be checked on the soap calc,EVERY recipe.. that being said you can start with an olive oil, coconut oil and palm oil soap to start. all 3 you can find at a grocery store and/or health food store. there are also beginner recipes in the recipe section of this forum. again if you find a recipe be sure to run it through the soap calc.. good luck..
