this scent combo has been haunting my mind!! I have no idea what is smells like but I am dying to try it.. so I am ordering Blueberry from Sweet cakes(from reading the past posts it seems like THE best blueberry) but what about pomegranate?? any suggestions on pomegranate??

yup...I just got some of the bum batch of Rooto lye..I was down to the last of my older Rooto soo I went to the store and bought more bottles.. I have been going between both the new and old ones..and have NOW exclusively used the new one and have had 3 batches fail..grrr!! same recipes I have been using for years,checked my scale as I do before EVERY batch..soo bummed.. off to do some internet lye shopping

thanks soo much Barbara.. I was thinking that it should be diluted so that I can see the coloring before it hits the soap.. Ill try adding it to water instead of straight to the soap..

hey all I have recently went from using micas to using celestial colorings..the few batches that I have done the colors have been AMAZING!! but I am having issues with lapis and wine.. when I separate the soap and start coloring..as soon as the coloring hits the soap theres speckles of coloring that I just cant get rid of..I have heated the bottle of coloring gently and shaked but the speckles still appear.. what am I doing wrong?? maybe not shaking the bottle long enough??? you guys are awesome!!

makes sense..though the threads that I keep reading say that ungelled soap takes longer to set up.. weird!!

strange.. I have only prevented gel 3 times and once in those three times I got partial gel..grr!! so today I soaped and put my mold outside..it was about 45 degrees out today. I did this mainly because where I normally put it was right in front of a vent and caused a slight overheating issue-nothing drastic .. so to see what would happen I took my lid off my mold-I have a wooden mold..and with cling wrap on it placed it outside.. I did this since I am wanting to work on my textured tops I am seeing if the lid makes a difference or not..I hate to work on my tops and have partial gel..grr!! anywho..my soap was hard and ready to pop out of the mold at about 12 hours..where as my gelled soap usually takes about 24hrs.. weird!!

my 12yo was with me when I was buying lye at the hardware store..we go to check out and he says to the lady 'dont worry..my mom doesnt make meth' yup,thatll throw them off my trail..

some of the suppliers send out samples for people to test them in different applications.. NG has a list of testers that they send FO's to..

YES!! those small tubs go VERY quickly..I did that when I first started and have since bought at least the coconut oil as a pail..I HATE going to the store when my soaping mood strikes lovely soaps!!

you added the FO after the lye and oils were mixed right?? if you moved quick enough and it made it into the mold it should be ok.. if the lye and oils were already on their way to being saponified you should be all in the clear

is this CP soap?? what would kneading it with cornstarch do to it??

thanks GourmetSoy sjconner..I wasnt too impressed with the MMS wild strawberry..it pretty much lost its scent after the 6 week cure..there was some scent but NOTHING too fab-o I have now ordered the strawberry cheesecake from BCN..word on the street is is that its heavenly in CP...cant wait to try it out.. thanks guys

does anyone know how much this discolors in CP soap?? I have used MMS Wild strawberry and that discolored to a med tan.. I havent used the BCN one yet though.. thoughts??

for the first one I did a half and half of beer and water.. the second one I did a 100% beer for the water.. so just use your favorite recipe and replace with as much as you'd like with beer..

I keep seeing that the NG's Pomegranate is similar to strawberry..soo I may be heading in that direction.. I was looking at OT too..
