  1. Yeah it sounds fishy to me too, but then again I'm skeptical of alot of things anyway. If I'm allergic to certain things, I would def. check to make sure the product doesn't contain those certain things. If you are allergic to milk are you going to eat ice cream without checking what's in it? I know bad example but you KWIM.
  2. oh that sucks. and there's nothing they would do about it?
  3. Your joking right? Even though there's wax on the outside of the bear, you do realize that the cloth bear is still on the inside right? And cloth burns-fast.
  4. Yes!! I was one of those poor suckers too that lost everything. Last year my younger brother decided he was going to play some internet game on my computer and ended up putting a ton of viruses on it. Well, guess what? It completely wiped out my computer, everything in it gone. You can't imagine how po'd I was! To loose everything like that is horrible, not only recipes, formulas, labels, inventory info, plus my accounting program and everything in that. It took a lot of sleepless nights to get everything back in order again. Very good advice!
  5. Congrats! No booth fee is always a good thing!
  6. Great Job!!! I have one coming up this weekend- hope it's just as good. They got rained out last year, so we'll see!
  7. I hear that!!! It's been interesting lately on here too!
  8. I use www.colonialtin.com. Make sure you have your tax ID number or you won't be able to order. I think they have nice things.
  9. I like them!!!! Nice label and love the color. I would have never thought about green!! I always do a dark grey!
  10. I think the name is catchy. Very Nice!
  11. yeah I would like to know too. We sell a TON of tealights (plastic ones) we have for years and we've never had a problem.
  12. There was another post on here not that long ago for this. KristinesShower offered her advice. Try checking back a few weeks, I'm sure you'll find it.
  13. I would weigh your scent instead of measuring it. Some scents are heavier than others.
  14. Looks like someone bit off more than they can chew?? Am I wrong?
  15. Mystic is Tori short for Victoria or no? I was thinking Victoria Bath & Body.
  16. I really like them too! Very Creative. I would buy it!! And I bet my mother in law would too!! I am HUGE into Country/Primitive (our candles have a country theme). Good job!!
  17. I am the chairperson of the Home Craft Marketplace at our town festival every year, and I have a jurying committee under me. I totally agree with Lovelylathers about pics of your display, you really don't need pics of each individual item, BUT I would incorporate some snapshots of you actually making the candles. Some of you pouring, wicking, stirring etc. This proves that you in fact do make everything yourself and they aren't buy-sell. (One of our regulations of our festival is everyone's items MUST be hand crafted) So depending on this committee's regulations, you may have an even better shot at getting in with pictures like that. Just a suggestion from my standpoint. Also Scented's suggestion about a price list is a good idea. At our sessions, we always make sure to ask what the price levels are.
  18. try www.candlesandsupplies.com in Quakertown, Pa. That's where we get ours.
  19. Grace, I think craft shows are going to be your best route right now. That's how we got started. Try getting on www.craftlister.com and do a search in your area for some holiday shows. Most times you can find ones for as low as $15 per space and they provide the table for you. It's worth a shot. The way I look at it, you can only get your name out there if your there to be seen. Good Luck!! Edited to say, as far as other candlemakers being at shows I wouldn't worry to much about it. Your products are unique from theirs, which will set you apart. I have had shows where they put us directly across from another candlemaker and we both did very well. It just depends on your presentation and the customers.
  20. Oh that's Awesome!!! Dontcha just love it when things pan out that way!!
  21. Our advertising is mostly word of mouth, through the grapevine and through wholesale flyers that we mail out to different stores. It's been working pretty good so far.
  22. That's great and to answer your question yes McCall's is a very large candle company. You should feel proud!!
