  1. The only one that has gotten me really bad is Citronella. oh my lord it's horrible!! I couldn't go in the basement for at least 2 days.
  2. I totally agree with David. That is one of my huge downfalls when it comes to selling. I am too nice. Guess everyone learns sooner or later. But I am glad everything worked out for you!!
  3. We just had our big fall festival last weekend and we completley sold out of all the pumpkin "falley" scents in jars and votives. Bayberry and Hollyberry are very popular starting now for me. I have another show next month and I will be taking christmas scents.
  4. Does anyone know a supplier where I can find Brown Corded Clear Mini Lights for wholesale? Did a search and can't seem to find them. Thanks
  5. I don't know about soy either, but that is great!! Congrats!
  6. Our best selling jar candle at craft shows is the 8 ounce JJ. Our best selling jar with our wholesale accounts is our 5 ounce and then the 16 ounce. This is a little off topic but votives sell extremely well at shows when you do a $$ each or $$ for 6 something like that. They actually sell better for me than the jars do at shows.
  7. Wow thanks for the heads up!! I always get crazy emails like that!
  8. OMG some people... it's ridiculous how some people act and think.
  9. Congratulations!! That's great! Hopefully it's the start of many more to come!!
  10. I actually just opened an ebay store. Nothing so far, but I think it may take some time to take off like with anything else. I'll let you know what happens. I would love to hear from someone who has had one for a while too though!
  11. I agree...I would buy a Presto Pot. They are soooo helpful!! I think you should purchase a starter kit for one type of candle first (i.e. jars, votives, melts etc.) just to test it out and see if you like it. that way your not spending a TON of money if you change your mind. And then just go from there! but be aware...it's addicting!!
  12. Remember too, that if you run out of table space you can always go up with your display. That's what I did. I even have a freestanding rack specifically for my votives - it holds around 70 of my scents. Remember you aren't limited to your tables only.
  13. I agree with Roxi...some people just amaze me sometimes. These types of people are the ones that get under your skin. For this reason, it is why I too, don't post alot of pics and brochures and stuff pertaining to my business on here. I don't even have my website posted. I really would rather be safe than sorry. Hang in there, you'll think of some way to make her look like an A$$. What goes around ...comes around and bites you in the ass!
  14. ok, thanks for everyones input. I think maybe I'll stick to the J223 for now.
  15. Well yeah that's true, but isn't all the wax getting expensive because of the oil prices? I just wanted to know if anyone has tried it yet and what the quality of it is, I'll worry about the cost later.
  16. I noticed last night that Candles and Supplies is now selling J225 a new blend of container wax. I was wondering if anyone has tried this yet and how it works for you? I currently use J223, but it looks as if this new J225 holds more fragrance with out leakage which would help a great deal with the heavier fragrances (i.e. Sugar Cookie, Amish Harvest, Buttercream and so on). I think I may buy some to check it out. Any advice welcome!
  17. I have gone as far as wrapping a kitchen towel around each jar when cooling them down. It does help, but I usually find it easier just to hit the tops with a heat gun after they are done sinking to even them out.
  18. I agree with BarnCat, as much as you can pack into your vehicle. You would be surprised with a little clever packing how much you can get into a car. You just never know what people are going to ask for. For us one year the Pumpkin Fudge went like hotcakes and then the following year at the same festival it was Apple Jack and Peel. So you just never know, better to be safe than sorry!!
  19. Hi Guys, Donna did my site over a year ago www.haycreekcandles.com I am very happy with it. I too have emailed her a few times over the past couple months to get my scent list updated and haven't received a response from her. Which is very unusual. I would try giving her a call if nothing else. I'm actually thinking about it myself. Let us know if you get ahold of her.
  20. That is a very good question, I have wondered the same thing myself. Maybe someone here knows?
  21. Sharon, I kinda like the Christmas Mints. I didn't know you were looking for a food type of name, sorry, hehe. But then again if you want to use the name year round christmas mints is more geared toward well...christmas. What about Creamy Mint Luscious Mint Creamy Mint Kisses (like those mints that look like hershey kisses)
  22. Or Iced Vanilla Pine??? Sorry, I don't have a wonderful imagination.
  23. I'm not good with names, how about Vanilla Pine Frosted Vanilla Vanilla Forest Let me come up with some more...
