  1. I think I got lucky with the top...I have the neatest looking ash pattern. I almost don't want to wipe it off! It makes the top look way better LOL. Jan...I really like the smell of it so far in the soap...given it's only a day old, wonder if it changes a bit during cure? I was heavy handed at 1oz pp. It's definitely a love it or hate it scent I think. I think my husband will hate it...but I think it's a pretty scent and I can't wait to try a bar in the shower when it's ready. I am really anal about not splashing my mold with soap goo LOL. I try so hard to keep it right in the mold, haha...I'm ticked off at that splashing on the side. I don't know why that bugs me...I'm a bit OCD about that. I splashed a big glob of Hunter's Moon *day star* tonight...ticks me right off LOL The swirl leaves much to be desired. Obviously didn't hold my bucket up high enough (too worried about splashing soap on my mold lol)
  2. Well....it took me a long time...but I finally soaped Goddess tonight. Here it is in the mold. I'm afraid what the color will be after reading past threads about the discoloration. I used Celestial Colors Sky Blue for the base and Lapis blue for a swirl. Not a lot of confidence in that swirl...ended up with too much of the swirl color so the top is fugly. I haven't soaped in nearly a year...so out of practice lol. If it looks like crap...that's my story I will post cut pics when I unmold it in a day or so.
  3. I've had great luck with these in candles balsam & citrus...one of my favs kai Tuscan lace cranberry ginger spice tea, which was a flickers fragrance and was discontinued. Sorry I'm even mentioning it...but it was absolutely my very favorite holiday scent. I've got a pound that I'm hoarding!
  4. You should offer one for sale, here on the forum for me in that doggy print. My Primo got one made by my stepmom 2 christmases ago. Her fabric was not nearly as cute as this. Needless to say...Primo was a puppy then and ripped the edges....so now it lines his kennel. He is in need of a new blankie to carry around....he keeps stealing my throws from the couch LOL. See? He takes my blanket...sucks on it until he's exhausted...then sleeps on it.
  5. I have a whole pound of Wasabi from Brambleberry. I bought it for my aunt who LOVES it. It's not horseradishy to my nose. Would you like an ounce? PM me and I will send you some to try!
  6. Good Morning! As far as the difference between 104 and 105...105 burns a hair hotter. Check out this site for excellent info on the different wicks and their burn properties! http://www.wicksunlimited.com/atkins_pearce_htp_wicks.php As far as twisting, because the htp curls...it tends to throw more heat in a certain direction. Twisting the wick a few turns seems to help with off center burn pools. I can't remember which genius on here suggested it LOL.
  7. I use htp wicks exclusively in 4627 wax. I'm guessing your diameter is about 31/2 inches in that first jar? I would definetly wick up to a 93...maybe even higher to a 104. I seem to recall reading somewhere...and I can't remember where as it has been so long....that 4627 needs to be wicked up two sizes from what is recommended. For example...if candle science wick chart says 73 for 3 inch diameter...then you should wick up to 93. I have no clue where I read that...but know I read it somewhere on some site LOL. I typically use 104 and 105's in 3-4 inch jars. Another tip is to twist your htp wick a few turns so that when it burns it will turn and you won't get a lopsided melt pool Just give it a few twists before you put your wick holder on.
  8. I have not smelled the OM Goddess either. Scented...did you get yours yet? Anyone else? Unfortunately, I have a horrible cold/sinus/pollen thingy going on...and I can't really smell much. What I can smell...smells lovely. I actually got some on my nose this morning when I ripped open my box and started huffing the bottle LOL. I smelled it all day. Decided since I got it on my nose...may as well dab it on my wrists so everyone at work could enjoy it too LOL!
  9. I just got mine. It is lovely smelling. I'm so excited!
  10. Hobby Lobby has them http://shop.hobbylobby.com/crafts-hobbies-and-fabric-crafts/basic-craft-and-hobby-supplies/feathers/?pg=2
  11. Thank you Ruth...I appreciate it. Please don't feel like I am in any way leaning on you for suggesting the pre-buy either. I'm glad you took the time to inquire for the rest of us (you and smelly both did) and I appreciate being able to get it and smell this talked about oil. I can understand the situation Kathy is in....it is tough to have a small family business and when illness strikes a family member...it can really be hard to get it all done. From what I understand from her previous email to you she had to go out of town for a sick mother...totally understandable to me. Some situations are beyond control. I will wait patiently
  12. Seems a bit strange that a number that always worked...no longer works. I hope that is not a bad sign. I do and can understand a family illness affecting business...but taking 5 minutes to post a notice on the website as to the situation and the status of any pre-buys or pending orders would have been acceptable to me. Obviously I can't reverse charges either...I just will try to wait patiently for the oils and pray we get them.
  13. Do you have any other wicking you could try? I use flat ply 24 or 30 for my 1343 pillars. I only make round though and I don't do chunks. I've never had any luck with lx wicks...but that doesn't mean you won't.
  14. Thanks Sliver and dolphin...I will check out you tube and watch.
  15. If you really really really can't find anything to do with them and the wetspots bother you. Put them in the classies section! They will sell for sure! I'm not giving mine up for anything...wetspots or not LOL.
  16. I've wanted to learn to do this...would it be knitting? I want to make scarves. I get confused between knitting and crochet. I need to go find someplace to learn. As if I need another hobby to do lol...but I've really always wanted to do it.
  17. Connie has some good oils. Black Irish, Pumpkin Cornbread, Lilac like Candybee mentioned. Also, her backwoods lemon tart is great. I love her Cannabis Santiva but have only soaped it, never put it in wax.
  18. Your Welcome! I didn't have a zinc lid, but will have to order some now. I think all three would look good depending on what you do with the jar. I want to do this: from this tutorial: http://thefrugalhomemaker.com/2012/10/01/mason-jar-soap-dispenser-31-days-of-pinterest-projects-pinned-to-done-day-1/
  19. I tried that tea...i do think the baking soda made a difference! i picked up 2 cases of the jars at my true value. looks great with the rustic lids.
  20. Oh no! I ordered mine on Feb 19th too! I really hope enough ordered to get it shipped! Maybe she is busy pouring orders? I've never had a full message box. How many messages does one need have before it goes full? Just curious!
  21. I didn't care for the Maui Mtn Pineapple either. Strong for sure...but ugh...didn't like it. It also rusted the hell out of my tin lol.
