  1. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing that information!
  2. Tried this recipe last week and my testers and I all loved them! So I got some more SLSA in yesterday and played last night and today and made a ton. From the top, left to right they're scented: Lavender EO, Purely Herbal, Tahitian Vanilla (this was a beautiful yellow last night...now it's an ugly brown ) Warm Vanilla Sugar, Sweet Pea, Pink Sugar, Downy Lavender Vanilla and Sea Breeze.
  3. I love the label and packaging for that...looks like it would be so much easier then what I'm doing! LOL I bet it smells delish too! Great job!
  4. Don't count those melts out just yet...I kind of thought they'd be too greasy for people to like, even if I liked it myself. But I honestly can't keep them in stock- people LOVE them. I make mine with unrefined cocoa butter and FO's. I've only had one scent turn on me and that was pink sugar. The silky suds came out great for me. Maybe you just didn't add enough to your tub to do anything?
  5. This was talked about in another thread recently. I made some today and subbed corn starch for the cream of tartar. They came out awesome. Don't know how they compare to ones made with cream of tartar though. I wasn't able anything big either. I'm not sure where that thread is now, but try searching for it, you'll find your answers there I believe, but corn starch works well!
  6. I really love JS strawberry jam but I just got a sample of Peaks' strawberry in my order today- OOB it's YUMMY!!!
  7. This is true in my case. I use 4794 (I only make tarts) and get a much better scent throw by adding 2 oz to each pound of wax, then I would if I just used the wax by itself.
  8. Another silly reason...but when I have my molds cooling on the counter if I walk too hard, or my kids come tearing through the room, it jostles them and they end up rippling...if I tip-toe around and keep the kids out of that room then they don't ripple. Like I said it's a silly reason but that's what my issue was! LOL
  9. I use that base and add 1 oz of soy oil. It's a good base on it's own, but I like it even more with the soy oil in it. I've never added an extra preservative to it- just use the amounts they recommend.
  10. Just Scent- Caramel Cinnamon Latte is excellent. And while it's not a coffee scent, their Chai Tea may fit in well with your theme. Millcreeks Irish Cream Delight and Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha are both awesome too.
  11. Snowtop has an awesome Cinnamon Bun FO. It's the best I've tried, and they test all their oils in soy. Peaks' comes in at a close second.
  12. I love the satin sheets from Mill Creek. It's got a great throw in soy, however it's an entirely different scent from what NG has so it might not be what you're looking for.
  13. Snowtop's oils are great in soy and they will ship via USPS (or at least they used to, it's been a few months since I've ordered from them) Their cinnamon buns, green apple and key lime pie are the best out there IMO- the other ones they have are great too!
  14. I made mine with distilled water and it still molded
  15. Honey and Shea from Daystar is wonderful!
  16. I don't care for it either. It smells like grass to me.
  17. I love this oil! I renamed mine Lavender Waters.
  18. The Northern Red Currant is fabulous! I have a samle of JS's that you mentioned- but have never put it in wax so I can't compare the two that way, but OOB I like Snowtop's is better. The Mulled Cider continues to be one of my all time favorites. Never smelled BCN's but LOVE the one from Snowtop. Key Lime Pie is wonderful- awesome thrower for me in soy and paraffin. I haven't used the others on your list- but if you want a recommendation on anymore I absolutely love their cinnamon buns and their green apple is the most true apple FO I have EVER smelled.
  19. I do this too. My paypal account is linked to it's own bank account that I only keep the minimum $10 in that's required by my bank. I'll transfer out of paypal to that account and then immediately have that bank send the money to our "real" bank account. That way if I ever get hacked, they're not going to get much. Something to consider anyway. I'm sorry it happened to you...people suck
  20. Anyone tried it? I'm getting ready to place an order with Millcreek, and I've got a customer requesting something similar to Yankme's watermelon. They didn't care for the one from Peak's. Just looking for any opinions on it before I order a sample!
  21. That one literally had me laughing... I just woke up my 4 year old! LOL
  22. I make a bunch of one scent at a time, then I package in polypro bags and label, then put into plastic boxes according to scent. That way when I have an order they're all ready to go. I have some tarts that are over a year old and there's no scent loss at all. I sell them singly but don't think I'd ever melt wax just to make one or two. It's WAY too much trouble to do only one or two at a time IMO.
  23. I'm not exactly sure if this is what you're looking for or not but MMS has what I think you might be looking for. www.thesage.com or http://www.thesage.com/catalog/UniqueItems.html
  24. You'll need to set up the category using the category option on your control panel. There's an option there to protect the category-select yes. Then add your products like normal and assign them to that category. In that same section, you'll see an option that says "Category protection" clicking there provides a link for you to add users. I haven't used that option in a long time- so hopefully that's enough to get you on the right track. Good luck!
