  1. I second Moonworks, Rhonda has some great and unique scents and that would be the first place I would go to get them.
  2. Hi fellow fo ho's and enablers, I am looking for a few tropical type scents and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the following companies and the particular scent I'm looking for, also if you would like to sell an ounce or so of any of these please contact me. FNWL - coconut Daystar- coconut Oregon Trails-creamy coconut Brambleberry-beach breezes FNWL-beach house ICS-salty sea air ICS-ocean mist Makes Scents- rainforest Thanks in advance for any opinions or input, I know scent is different for everyone but I have learned to ask a few opinions first before just buying buying buying and filling yet another rubbermade tote of scents I will not use. :rolleyes2
  3. The last thing I heard was that Beckie had surgery and on her website she wrote something like please be patient as I recover or something like that and I will start work as soon as possible. I sure hope she is doing well, she is very nice and a great designer.
  4. thanks! I have already tried htp,eco and lx's and zincs still seem to be the best choice. The htp's burned the same way for me as well. I was just checking in with others if they had any luck with these wicks because I could never get them to burn great so I thought I was doing something wrong. I think I have OCD as I can't stop testing and testing and testing wicks when I know zincs are the best choice for this combo:laugh2:I just wanted to be sure before I move forward. Thanks much!
  5. HTP or ECO wicks? I am using 3" diam glass with 6-7% fo load. Thanks
  6. Hi everyone, After trying several waxes and wick combos I am staying with 4630 with a hint of soy added. I am finding that zincs work great in my 3" diam tumbler. I have tried cd 8 and 10 but the jar got too hot and the wax was consumed too fast but if I went to a 6 I would not get a fmp. I also tried the lx's and found about the same. Do any of you use HTP's or ECO's in 4630 with success? I use a 6-7% fo load. Thanks
  7. I have one as well. The throw is minimal and the flame is so weak you must turn the light off to see if it's still lit:laugh2: as far as the crackle, I heard a little until it started drowning out. Oh well it's not the first money I have ever wasted on big name candle companies.
  8. post a picture of it and I bet a lot of users here could help. If not you could always send it to wick-it or wicks unlimited. HTH
  9. Ahhhh, someone else on the Dave Ramsey plan?????? Good for you!
  10. where would I purchase water based fragrances? Thanks
  11. Thank you- I think they are so neat I just can't get the oil/water thing. I'll get some beads and give it a try.
  12. http://www.pier1.com/Catalog/CandlesFragrance/CandlesFragrance/tabid/485/CategoryID/101/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/7712/ProductName/Buttercream-Vanilla-Fragrance-Beads/Default.aspx I bought some in a different scent and the label says to prolong fragrance keep moistened. I think they are the beads you would put in vases at weddings etc but how are they scented? Would you just add your fo into the water????? Thanks
  13. oops sorry it's a 3" diam straight sided tumbler with a parasoy mix very light on the soy. 51-32's seem to be doing the trick but I'm always experimenting:) Thanks
  14. Hi Everyone, Happy 4 th! Can anyone tell me what LX wick would be comparable to a zinc 51-32 ? I am currently using zincs and want to try lx's. Thanks
  15. does anyone know if the Aqua Spa from WSP could pass for a beachy scent?
  16. I purchased some samples and a few did not "dissolve" in my heated wax so I had to stir for an unusually long time. It was like tiny oil droplets in the bottom of the pour pot. I called BB and they said that the oils I ordered were not particularly for candles so they may not work. Well after all the mixing etc I still poured the candle and it smelled great but it did have a light throw. HTH if anything use them in aroma beads!
  17. An acquaintance of mine got me hooked up with a huge contract filler in Ca. and of course I am nowhere ready to use a company like this but I was able to speak with one of the owners for "tips". He had discussed much more with me than I had thought he would and it was awesome but when he asked me how much fo I was using I said 6-7% and he replied they would uses 10-12% on a regular basis! Now you would all know the candle companies they fill for and some are pretty amazing burners because I have purchased a few but wow 12%. One in particular I have here is super strong but I only got a few puffs of soot towards the very bottom of the jars burn. I don't know how they do this in paraffin? The one thing he bashed me about using is zinc wicks and tried to convince me that eco's and cd's were the industry standard in a paraffin blend. I have tried those in the paraffin blend I am using with either a 6 or 7 fo load and simply got a smoke show. I wish I could be a fly on the wall in this place just to see what they add to make these candles.
  18. my first guess was candlewic as well but I see they don't match up. I'll look through my bins and see if any other labels look like that. I only have a few that came with the scent name only and no company name but I put it on there with a sharpie so maybe theres hope. Checking your credit card is the best solution.
  19. candle cocoon has Fallen Leaves which smells amazing and just like leaves in the fall but not burning leaves. Maybe you could try it and mix it with a hint of a campfire type scent or an earthy scent a mentioned above?
  20. I thought Celestial Sea smelled like Vicks rub?????? but the others I ordered smelled nice.
