  1. Hi Everyone, I really like this wax but even though some of you said it was easy to wick I just did not find that the case so I put it on the back burner for a while. I am ready to start testing with this again and I was thinking of ordering a zinc sample kit. Has anyone used them in 6006 with great results. I am using a 3" diam tumbler. Thanks so much.
  2. oooooooh thats a hard one! I have both and like them both but I must say that the cleancut has a perfect 1/4 foot on it which helps your customer cut the wick to the perfect length every time. The wickman is nice and a bit more economical too. Oops I almost forgot the cleancut just feels "beefier" in your hand and looks like a quality item.HTH
  3. Thanks Stella I will try those options and I'll be wick testing them with a cd. Thanks
  4. could you mix palm container wax and soy container wax??? I know I would probably lose the starburst but I wonder how it would throw since palm throws amazing. If you were to do this what would you use as the ratios? ie 70 % palm 30% soy etc... Also what temp would you heat to and pour this mix?? Thanks
  5. I have looked for them also. The only thing I had found was custom made ones with a minimum of 3,000 pieces but a better price can be had if you order 5,000 pieces. I am nowhere ready for those kinds of minimums but they could make any color you could think of with your logo and printing right on the tin. Oh well maybe someday! If you find any please post if you could. Thanks
  6. my wicks will be space 1" apart for double wicking. Thanks
  7. Hi everyone, I am currently testing an all soy container wax. I am primarily testing with CD wicks, the glass is 3 1/2 diam straight sided. I am testing both single wicks and double just for grins but my question is.....when double wicking do you have to face the directional wicks away from each other???? i.e the "arrows" that point up on the wick would go towards the glass or does it matter.I hope I explained this ok. Thanks
  8. Hi, I did not take your answer as snotty, I have done it this way to give me a general idea on wick size to start and if it works then I make a sample with the fo and that wick etc. It was something I picked up here on this forum, from a veteran and it works so far for me. I just wanted to know if I still had to cure these "naked" soy containers?
  9. Hi, I am going to give 100% soy a try . I usually use 6006 which is a parasoy blend in my "regular" candles but would love to make soy tins or something as well. I always start my testing with just wax and wicks only, no scent. Do I have to cure soy for the wick test even if there is no scent,no dye or can I light these puppies????? I poured them 24 hours ago. Thanks
  10. that's crazy! I was in the floral design industry for 13 years and would often do jobs on the side for certain interior designers. Well one of them pawned a client of hers onto me and boy thats when the fun began. Sounds like the same lady I had only yours brings glass and mine brought dollar store flowers. This woman would bring this dollar store junk in giant trash bags and ask for "something nice" for Sunday.ha ha ha ha! Well I felt bad at first and I did it but then she called every week now don't get me wrong, work = $$ but she never wanted to pay anything and always had excuses. I then started jacking the prices because I knew she was cheap and she slowly stopped calling. I am usually not one to turn away a job but when it comes to this kind of nonsense just nip it in the bud now,I know I felt much better after. Good luck:)
  11. Does anyone know if she is still around? Her website is no longer up and running and I'm just wondering if anyone has a way to contact her? Thanks
  12. I still have about 25# of 6006 that sounds like bacon when I melt it in the presto! I just melt and add fo as normal but don't pour the water drops at the bottom of the pour pot into the glass candle container. I have had no burn issues but I will be very cautious about this from now on. The batch was from Candlescience but will not deter me from ordering again because I love this wax.
  13. I love some of their jars but can find them much cheaper closer to home(their shipping is a bear) but has anyone purchased just lids from them or know a place I could get lids like they carry-not the glass ones but the metal like bronze etc.?
  14. chocolate, marshmallow, fresh grass.........I just thought of things that were in my Easter basket as a kid and also Easter signals the start of a fresh season hence the fresh cut grass.HTH.
  15. Yes-at one time I thought I would try my hand at b & b but it did not work out so well. I did buy from quite a few people to see what bombs are "supposed" to be like and I liked them all but one stood out above all the rest, even better than the big guys like Lush. I found her on another board and it linked me to her etsy shop. Her company name is KBShimmer, I hope this is ok to post this about her but I must say these are the prettiest, well made, deliciously scented bombs I have EVER used and she has a customer for life with me:yay:
  16. Thanks for the replies everyone I have found a girls organization to donate it to that makes fire starters so its a win-win!
  17. Hi Everyone, I have finally settled on the wax combo that I love and I was wondering what to do with all the wax that I got as samples etc that I am NOT going to use. I have made and given away about 40 candles to co-workers etc and I don't do tarts or anything like that so I can't use it there. There are all kinds of wax from different suppliers and I just don't know what to do with it???
  18. yes I think she would mean wick down or at least that's the direction I am thinking of going. I am shooting for 1/4" melt pool after 3 hours at least thats what I hear is a good depth-anyone can comment on that???? Even though the glass is a tiny bit over 3" I may try to double wick with two teeny wicks just to see the difference in the total burn and melt pool.
