  1. I second the zincs. I just started working with zincs after being disappointed with the burn of other wicks and wow what a difference. They mushroom a bit but no soot and a great burn overall. I purchased my zincs from BC.
  2. thanks everyone, if the CS does not work out now I have more ordering options.
  3. ooooooh yes I have that one here, I will use it for gifts and candles for me but for this particular application I need a straight rich decadent chocolate. I ordered the chocolate fudge from CS. Thanks
  4. I have a chocolate from WSP and its pretty good just not as "rich" of a chocolate as I would like, any suggestions?
  5. Hi everyone, If you mixed a blend of 60% paraffin/40% soy or 70% paraffin/30% soy would any of these need a cure time and if so how long would you wait to test burn after setting up? Thanks
  6. I believe candles and supplies/just by nature carries them. http://www.justbynature.com/containers_glassware.html http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/Packaging/Plastic+Dust+Covers/Default.aspx
  7. trillium glen from southern soapers is nice and I second the andes mint for an awesome chocolate mint scent. The trillium glen is more of a minty spa type scent.
  8. I have tried the filtecs in 6006 and I did not like them at all. I thought they sooted way to much. I use a 6% load. I still have found the zincs to work the best in this wax straight or cd's when a bit of soy is mixed in. I have been testing with this wax for quite some time and I love the way it looks and its easy to cut etc but it's been a real pain to wick but I'm getting very close to where I want to be with zincs but still a little tweaking to do. I called filtec and told them what type of wax I was using,fo load and jar diameter and they sent me a range of sizes that should work in that jar but unfortunately none of them did but they are very nice there and super helpful.
  9. Hi everyone, I am having a very tough time wicking 2 scents and both are campfire scents. 1 from BCN and 1 from WSP. I have tested with 6 and also 7% fo load in a 4 oz tin which is aprox 2.40" diam and I am using igi 6006. So far I have tried 44-24-18z, 44-32-18z, 44-36-18z and all have gone out or are so weak you have to turn the light off to see if its still lit. I poured one with a cd 5 and it's setting up as I type. Has anyone had any problems wicking these smokey campfire scents? BTW it's the only scent I have ever had this happen to. Thanks
  10. has anyone used this fo? what were your thoughts on it. I was wanting to order just a sample of this but the shipping was outrageous for just a sample and I don't need anything else from them right now. thanks
  11. I too have found that the shroom does not bother people. I have been testing wicks in a parasoy blend for a looooong time and just tried zincs for the very first time because I was against using them until now. They do produce a small mushroom when burned over 4 hours but still no soot and that was my ultimate goal. So far I have a great throw and a nice even burn so a little shroom is nothing to me and not one of my testers even mentioned it to me I use 6% in almost all the scents I am testing.
  12. OK, it's late but I found some @ Peak's right after posting.....does anyone know if Peak's have"feet" on them or are they flat on the bottom? Thanks again
  13. Hi everyone, I got a case of 4 oz tins from CS and they are nice but now I don't know if I like the feet on the bottom. Does anyone know where to get a good price on 4 oz tins with lids(not clear lids) I am in Illinois if that matters. Thanks
  14. DPS Morris wax ---I don't know how far of a drive it would be for you but they are located in New Lenox, Il
  15. Hello, I have seen coffee beans used and you could use one of your lidded jars to keep them fresher or a lidded candle tin.HTH:)
  16. I have used the eco8's as well but find that they don't clean the glass as well as I would like but if I wick up to a 10 the wax gets scorched and turns a dark tan. With the 8's I get a "rollercoaster" type pattern of hank-up almost until the very end and I just think it looks bad but I must say they hardly produce any soot at all.
  17. Thanks so much and why are we both not sleeping right now??!!! I will order a sample pack of the zincs to test. At this point I will try anything. ECOs are my first choice in this wax but they are still not perfect.
