  1. Well maybe the new owner will pick that one back up? It's worth asking her:)
  2. Noodle, I know what you mean. I am having the same problem with Plumeria;)

  5. Your site looks really nice and your soaps are crazy beautiful. I love Spooner and have stayed in a town called Minong years back, it was just the nature trip I needed. You live in a beautiful area.
  6. I just received the Daystar Honeysuckle today, it's very nice. I will be putting it in wax tomorrow.
  7. ok thanks, then it would be safe to try these lower flash point oils in candles?
  8. I hope I am asking this question so that it makes sense because I am confused. What is the lowest flash point you can use in a fragrance oil and still have it be safe for candles. What I mean is that there are some great oils out there at soap making companies that I would like to try for candles but they have fp at 154 degrees etc., most of the candle oils are 180-200. Would they just not work? or would they ignite with the candle flame? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but I have never ordered anything but oils specifically for candles but I would like to try others. Thanks
  9. I have purchased Chesapeake Bay candles before and they are total crap! As a matter of fact I could not believe how the wick traveled after just 2 or 3 short burns(not powerburns). The wick was not even secured. The packaging was really great though, I guess thats where they spend their $. I'll never buy one again. http://www.chesapeakebaycandle.com/aboutus.php
  10. Thanks for the honeysuckle info. BBW is exactly the kind of Plumeria I don't want, LOL. That Plumeria is a fantasy scent and smells NOTHING like the real thing. I am still on a quest to find a more true one but heck since everyone buys the BBW types they probably would smell the true thing and not like it LOL.
  11. Hi, I have given up on finding a true plumeria so now I have an obsession to find a great honeysuckle. I have purchased CS,Peak,BCN so far. Has anyone tried Sweetcakes? Either plain honeysuckle or honeysuckle hollow? Thanks
  12. Is anyone getting really bumpy tops after your melt pool cools in your test burns? My tops look like cottage cheese, booooo.
  13. I have tried eco's and htp's with coco wax but no luck…cd's seem to be the best so far. I'll try to gets some pics up soon but mine look nowhere near as good as yours lol, I have been using some very boring containers.
  14. thanks for keeping us posted! I have been playing with the swans coco that I already had but now I have purchased a sample from California Candle Supply. I like the Ca brand much better, Swan's seems to set up and stay somewhat mushy even after a 4 day cure. The Ca brand comes in pellets much like some soy waxes which I think is easier to use and it set up nice and firm. The CT on the Ca brand is the same as swans-very good and the HT also very good. I just wished I used a different FO for testing lol, I'm getting mighty sick of lavender:) I have used cd's along the way in several different jars and they all seem to be doing well. The one thing I have noticed is at the bottom 1/3 of a few of the containers there is a horizontal line that goes around the whole inside of the jar. I think it may have something to do with the rate of cooling. I will try again and heat the jars before pouring. I love this thread:cheesy2:
  15. has anyone tried their honeysuckle? If so do you think it's a true honeysuckle scent?
  16. ok then, JS is not a really good place to try? I was going to order the one from JS and MC. Ahhhhhhh, just wish I could find a good one.
  17. Did anyone get the new CS honeysuckle? If so how do you think it compares as far as scent goes to Peaks?
  18. Hi, I have only ordered dyes from Alabaster in the past but I see that they have some fo's I might be interested in. Almost all on my list are marked out of stock. I have left a message but received no phone call back. Does anyone know what is going on with them or if their oils are even good enough to be going through this trouble to get them? Thanks
