  1. Wow:shocked2: I am ALMOST speechless. It is 1:30 AM, do you know where YOUR kids are? Sounds like this one is working his a** off. SS, There is a lot to be said for a good attitude and enthusiasm. From what I can tell, you seem to have both. There are some things that I think you need to be "reeled in" on, (I think I saw you were offering 300 fragrances....I would say that is just a wee bit ambitious) but I have to give credit where credit is due. If you are16 years old and already talking about your "growing up" days, ( You guys never heard this when you were growing up? We heard it pretty much daily.) you must consider yourself well on your way to "adulthood". Are you still in school, SS? (If not, get your butt back there) I have to say that I admire your entrepreneurial spirit. I can't really offer you any advice on your business...I don't have a clue what I am doing....but I do commend you for trying to do SOMETHING positive with your time and money. I started making my products with birthday and christmas money that I had saved up. This part kinda wins my heart. Keep growing and learning. There are some pros here that are offering you some good advice. Hang on to your "drive". You might surprise us all. Dang...... 16 huh?
  2. There is nothing on the market that actually minimizes pores. There are MANY things on the market that makes the pores APPEAR smaller. ( ie. glycolic acids, papaya enzyme masks etc.)
  3. To me, I definetely smell the Jasmine and have always considered this fragrance to be a floral. How about you sandisoap?
  4. Actually...I don't think that will work, evesorto. Jo Malone's Grapefruit is a combination of grapefruit, tangerine, vetiver and rosemary. Tony's describes their Jo Malone (Type) as "woody, green background is tinged with the freshness of pine, lavender and thyme, and the lovely softness of jasmine"
  5. Jo Malone is one of my favorite florals. As Grumpy says, " Throws like a raped ape"
  6. Competition is good for the soul....AND the consumer. If the fat cat that had (or wants) the monopoly looses business from the new kid on the block, than she needs to step it up and compete, or tuck her tail between her legs, count her losses and move on. With any luck, she will find some other schmuck manager that will offer her a monopoly and she can sit on her tush doing business as usual. Yawn Free enterprise AND competition keeps people on their toes....and quite honestly, you are doing her a favor by being there. She will take a closer look at her own business, blow the dust off and COMPETE! People that are afraid of competition either have something to hide, worry that their product/packaging/value is inferior, or lack the enthusiasm and energy to do REAL business. We have all heard the excuses before.....but thats all they are...excuses. Decide who you want to be and go for it. No two companies are ever the same, anyway. Let the consumer decide who they want to spend their hard earned money with. I would HATE not having options wherever I choose to shop and would think that any manager/owner of a "several business" location has their head up their ass if I wasn't offered any. Only one or two places to buy "scented product" ??? Ewwww Who ever heard of such? Thank God scented products are wildly popular these days!! 2007 is so much nicer than the years we had to "settle" for what was available. Hooray for options! IF there is not enough business for you both...may the best woman win! JMHO, of course.
  7. Hi there T~!!!! Welcome back!!! It has been so long!!!!!
  8. I LOVE Wild Fig and Cassis but haven't found one to throw like your "raped ape"
  9. Corry....you made me smile. Welcome to CT. First... Are you within driving distance to a candle supply company?
  10. LOVE the Oriental Musk...and can't wait to try the Hippy Chic.
  11. Horrors!!! You mean you were actually a candle consumer!!!??? Careful, I have taken a lot of heat for that! I agree that Jimmy's candles are excellent. His fragrance oils are custom blended to his specs by the manufacturer. Not a big deal, actually, but he has done a nice job with his selection. Sent you a PM
  12. They do have one fragrance I really like and have not found it elsewhere ( or anything quite like it) called SPA. I am no longer using it because I am limiting the fragrances I offer but I remember this one being really good. It is a "thrower" Wick Up.
  13. I have been playing some with Backwood's Blue Sugar and was happy to get it in and give it a try. After everyone's success with Pink Sugar, I think most people were ready to try the Blue. I am ready for Black Sugar next!
  14. I can't seem to locate their site. I looked at the ones listed here and googled to no avail.
  15. I love many of the WYW FOs, (actually have never tried one I didn't think was a good quality oil ) and have recently been LOVING the Vanilla Sandalwood (BnL). The Cedar and Saffron is new and excellent! Log Cabin, Twigs and Berries.....and one of my all time faves, Peppercorn.
  16. Is there ANYTHING you CAN'T do? You amaze me!
  17. I am so sorry I was unable to stop by your shop. We were on our way, and we did locate you (great location BTW...really great) BUT we had tickets to opening night of the film festival and "after party", and it seems that everyone else in the city did as well.......SO, traffic was not moving freely in the area, and our time became limited....no time to stop and shop:cry2: You have excellent curb appeal and couldn't be in a better spot. I can't imagine what your overhead must be in that area, but I guess there is something to the ol' saying, "location, location, location" I know you are doing well there. I will be back soon with less scheduled and WILL get there next time.
  18. I have always respected your work JoJo! Nice to see you are still in creative mode! Very nice!
  19. Great work again! I really like that each candle is unique and no two look exactly alike. Makes them look great in groupings.
