  1. CC's is awesome and so it the one from Supplies 4 Candles. I use them both, they are that close. I think S4C is a bit sweeter. They both sell well for me. Can't help with the Carmel Corn, although now I want some to eat!
  2. I use cinnamon buns for soy from RA. Strongest I have found and priced well - I use standard and it blows the doors off at 1.5 oz per lbs. in my pillar soy for bun molds. For the containers I do only 1 oz per lb.
  3. If the Twigs & Berries from BCN's, NG and At Wix End are not the same FO, they could be! I have used them all from year and it continues to be my biggest wholesale scent.
  4. I think Indy Girl made some candles with her Vera Wang Princess - I used that oils last year for some wedding votives and they smelled so nice.
  5. The only two I have put in wax so far are the Mulled Cider and Pink Sugar. Both are extremely strong in my soy at 1oz per lb. and have always been great sellers for me. The only shows I do are during the fall, all of them harvest festivals and this mulled cider always sells out. I can't wait to hear about a couple I smelled, but so far only two or three participants have recieved their oils, might be a bit early for anything but OOB reviews.
  6. I heard there is a new one next year in June taking place in Pittsburgh, PA.
  7. I just finished doing a triple layer July 4th candle and used BC's Blueberry Cobbler for the blue layer. I have been burning it for almost 2 weeks and there is NOT a hint of anything in there but blueberry for me, my family and every tester asked. I had to rename it, cuz it's just the fruit and it's kick butt strong. 30 mins and my whole downstairs is full of blueberry smell. And that's 1 oz per lb.!
  8. Hire a collection agency and you can be sure you will lose them as a customer as well as up to 1/3 of your balance due. I would try to work it out with them - you know the saying "please one person and they MAY tell 2 others". "Make one person mad and they will make it a point to tell 11"! I don't think it's worth risking the other two accounts or any other potential accounts over one invoice?
  9. How long did you wait for a full MP? I am not familar with those wicks, but I usually look for a inch per hour so if you are at over 3" in diameter it may take the right wick up to 3 hours for a full MP, usually less but a good rule of thumb. Again I don't use that wax either, but 50 mins for full MP at 3.25" seems awfully fast and that could indicate a hot wick, which is why you could be getting those "poofs" as the wick is not burning correctly once it's created the MP so quickly. And those roly's are going to be smaller/diameter at the top then go out wide, something else to consider? That's why I avoid any container that is not straight sided - wicking nightmares!
  10. 50 minutes for a full melt pool in a 3.25" container? Not a C3 user, but IMHO that is way too fast - sound like you are wicking too hot, did you try a smaller wick first?
  11. Gingerappletini from BCN's closeouts is awesome in my natural wax blend.
  12. I put up a "guaging interest" post in the co-op section, see if there is enough interest to do one this upcoming month. I need to place an order around that time any way.
  13. You get $1.00 off per lb. over 5 and then another over 10. I usually order over 5 so I end up at most being between $9 and $11.
  14. I am glad you ladies had a nice time at the gathering! Sharon, I am sorry that everytime you went to the web site the date was wrong, however - it was corrected when I was contacted by Gena to do so. As for me being unavailable - I never recieved any notification from you, Gloworm or from Backwoods Candle Supply regarding the date being incorrect - maybe you sent the messages to Gena - not me. As for other things on the website not be updated - I was not informed and what information I did receive was about 3 days prior to the event.
  15. Better than 65% of my line is made up of RA's oils and they perform wonderfully for me - have for almost 6 years. I have gotten some that are not what I thought they would be, but that is why I order samples. I order in bulk and they give great discounts the more you buy so you save lotsa money especially if you can use the standard grade. I only upgrade on two oils and that is because the upgrade was what was recommended and it worked. Other than that I have always gotten the standard grade and they throw great at 1 oz per lb. in my soy/bw blend. Customers service is awesome and yes at times I have had to wait up to 10 days, but normally I get my stuff in a week. I am getting ready to do an large order for the fall, if anyone wants to join me, you are welcome - I guess I could do a co-op if no one else wants to do one. Just let me know.
  16. Midwestern Chandlers Gathering - Canton, OH Sunday, July 24th I am working on the website updates and noticed there are quite a few attendees missing from the list. Could those attending take a minute to check the website and make sure you are listed under the attendee's section. If you are not listed and you have registered, please notify me ASAP at cre8candles@aol.com. You don't have to list whole names, first name only or company name is fine and the number attending with you. Thanks ~ Abbie;-)
  17. JMHO - but 3% is too high! The more BW you add, the more expensive the candle and the harder it will be to wick. In most cases the attributes you are looking to achieve through the addition of BW can be made at levels much lower than that, saving you money and enabling you to wick it without a great deal of hang up and cracking on the top. Try an oz or less per lb. and you will have a good starting point.
  18. It's most likely bloom - like the white frosty haze that you get on chocolate - all natural waxes do it. It can be wiped off, but chances are it will come back. May be eliminated by sealing the tarts from any air, but that can be difficult depending on how you package them.
  19. It comes from shrinkage - the less your wax shrinks as it sets up, the less "gap" you will see. Really soft waxes usually have less wet spots. Warming up the jars just makes the wax take a bit longer to set up - but eventually all things being equal the candles will become the ambient temperature of the surrounding environment and once the wax becomes solid it is going to be smaller than the container you poured it into. I find they are less obvious in the warmer temperatures. There is really no way around it - unless you find a wax that does not shrink at all! LOL
  20. I use a soy votive blend - or you can use container blends, but only at the ratio of at least 50/50 soy pillar/votive blend.
  21. 1 oz of BW per lb. is too much, you will get cracks big time and the wicking will be challenging. Try half that to start.
  22. I have 5 very lucrative private label accounts and while I admit they can be taxing, they can also be very profitable. First of all - according to my lawyer and confirmed by my insurance company (Erie) my company name must be on every candle I sell. I do this with the simple line " XXXX (my biz name) candles, made exclusively for YYYY (their biz name). I also list them on my insurance policy as a rider (don't know correct term). They are in charge of labeling, not me. I only adhere a warning label and all necessary information is on there. Secondly, I have strict minimums that my customers have to take into account when ordering so I don't end up being nickled and dimed. I don't tell them what to charge, although I give them my retail price as a guideline. None of them sell as cheaply as I do, their markets are much different than mine. Although I undercut them price wise, I am only a threat if a person wants to order online, and that has associated costs and restrictions they don't have selling my stuff cash and carry! So that has never been an issue for me.
  23. My son is leaving Tuesday for London to attend college for the better part of 3-4 months, if you are not too far away - I can send some FO over in his care packages! LOL
