  1. Donita, you are definitely a master craftsperson. Thank you for sharing - your ideas are inspirational!
  2. I don't use wick pins so have no input on that score but if I understand you correctly about wobbly bottoms (?!) I use someone else's tip and stand my moulds without holders on a cookie cutter so that all the lumpy bit is in the centre of the cutter and the rest of the mould sits evenly on the edges. HTH.
  3. What's to be hard on yourself about? I'd buy these in a instant, they look so brilliant - love the colours. Not sure what muscadine smells like but I expect that it matches the colours perfectly. BTW did I tell you that I LOVE these candles.
  4. I think that they all look terrific. Could you please tell me what a bulge problem is?
  5. Huge congrats - they all look fantastic. I am sure that your friend will be over the moon when she sees them.
  6. Definitely something else for the boyfriend. That candle is too fantabulous to give away.
  7. They look great - fabulous colour.
  8. Wow, they look great, really bright and summery. Makes me feel good just to look at them.
  9. That looks stunning - what a bummer that you can't repeat the effect. Also love the colour of the pillars you've got in the background - very ethereal. Are they chunks, and if so, how did you get them to look so smooth (the patches of colour I mean)?
  10. Please pass on my congratulations to mother and children - they are all gorgeous! Love the colour and mottling effect. Oh, and of course - hearty congratulations to the Doctor in charge - well done.
  11. I think that they all look great, and you've honed right in on my favourite colours and scents plus love the photography. Welcome to a new addiction, even if its only for yourself you'll still probably keep leaping up to try new ideas out especially when inspired by the wonderful photos on this board.
  12. Here's another chunk crackle - that finish sure covers a multitude of sins. LOL . It's probably a bit too much of a contrast for my taste but hey, it's what the client asked for. Let me know what you think.
  13. They look fabulous and I bet they smell great too.
  14. Thanks for your great information, disappointing tho' it was to hear as I was hoping for much more from both the soy and the palm. I think that I'll try a little soy for votives and a little palm for pillars just to see how it works. You guys have just saved me a bundle of money as I normally go gung ho for huge quantities and it would have been so frustrating to find that they don't react like paraffin. Thanks again. I love this board.
  15. I'm feeling very excited because I've just stumbled across a new supplier that offers both soy and palm wax. Having only ever used paraffin before, could anyone out there please tell me what are the benefits and pitfalls of each of the 3 types? I will be making pillars and votives. TIA. Maureen
  16. Great effects - I must get hold of some palm wax. Is it easy to work with?
  17. Love the colour and effects - very striking.
  18. Ange, they are absolutely stunning! and the photography is awesome too. WOW!!!
  19. I'm in awe at how nicely you get the drapes balanced - great job.:smiley2:
  20. That is a really nice shape. Must put it on the list to buy.
  21. They look good enough to eat and I bet they smell (smelt) fantastic.
  22. That is a really interesting looking candle and I mean that in a very positive way. Keep on experimenting (and make sure we get to see the results)!
  23. I think that you HAVE chosen colours that go well together. Don't give yourself a hard time just because they didn't turn out the way you expected (hope that I'm listening to this good advice too). LOL. I find that a few days away from the initial result I'm able to look at the candle as it is not how I thought it should be and it's usually much better than I give myself credit for. Well that's it from Aunty Mozzie's comfort corner.
  24. Guess what? My client thinks it looks great so I suppose that fugly is in the eye of the beholder. Really appreciated all the positive feedback as it lifted my confidence greatly - thanks.
