Go back into your post and hit Edit button then when normal message screen appears, scroll down to section headed Additional Options. Click Manage Attachments button, then click Browse button to find where picture is stored on your computer. When file location is set, click on Upload button, wait for picture to upload then click on Close this window button, and hey presto - it's done. HTH

Thanks to all the handy tips I received I've managed to do a layered rustic that stayed rustic through all 3 pours. OK, so the layers aren't that great ... but the main thing is that it worked. I used straight paraffin with 10% stearine and 5% lavender EO, and poured at 140 deg, 145 deg and 145 deg. I've named it Cobalt Calm. Just realised that I've taken a photo of the worst sides - sigh. You know, that makes so much sense. I've often wondered how it remembers without ever questioning whether it actually does or not. I've even felt like I was CHEATING when I did my votive repours EVEN COOLER than the initial pour temp (still having trouble getting my wax to reach high temps when there is very little in the pot) and just felt lucky that it seemed to work. LOL All right, fess up, who else has cheated and got away with it?

Isn't it funny how the mind works? I definitely saw 2 pillars, probably tapers, side by side, didn't even consider one on top of the other. LOL. What about doing them as a type of chunk candle, ie. put them in a straight sided glass or anything you can find that's just slightly bigger all round than the candles and them fill it up with melted wax. You'll need to get the wax fairly hot so that it adheres to the others. If that's not an option, you could try dipping them a few times in water that's just been boiled (you need about a couple of inches of wick to hang on to (I've tried it with a short wick and it just kept slipping out of my hand)) and then throw it in to some really cold water for a few minutes (this is how the crackle effect is achieved). I think that what your sister's done looks really effective so it would be great if you could use it. BTW, if you do try dipping in water you may want to prime your wick first (soak it in melted wax for about 5 minutes) so that it doesn't absorb lots of water. Good luck.

The mind boggles!!! Maybe you could tie something round them and them dip them together in a pot of wax, but I'd probably still want to tie something around them after dipping to hold them together. Not very confident am I?

There is one supplier (Candle Creations) in the city I live in and that's where I got started. They sell paraffin and beeswax, block dyes and a few fo's plus 15 and 30 ply flat braid wick. All their moulds are plastic. I then found 2 suppliers (Stacks of Wax and Aromatherapy in the Raw) in another state who also have paraffin and beeswax, a bigger range of wicks and fo's and one of them has the little diamond dye blocks that I love because I can duplicate colours. They also have pillar moulds but no aluminium seamless. AND just the other week I discovered a new supplier Natural Candle Supply) - also interstate - who are importing fo's, dyes, waxes and moulds from the good old USA (not sure who). Yippee, I've now got some seamless aluminium moulds, including votives (and wick pins) and in a couple of weeks' time they'll also have palm wax and additives (they also have soy wax). BTW, the only additives I've found so far are stearine and vybar (tho' not sure what type of vybar). This new place also has tons of dye to choose from AND in 3 different types; block, diamond and liquid - WOW! Sorry that I'm raving on, this is probably a case of too much information, but you did ask. There may be other suppliers around but I haven't found them or else they specialse in beeswax or plastic moulds.

I haven't seen any so far although one site does mention wicks of a specific length plus wick tabs so not sure if they are also primed - should be at the price they're asking!. Will need to ask more questions as they don't even mention what type of wick it is. See - I must be learning something, a while a go I wasn't even aware that there was more than one type of wick. LOL.
