Thanks! I can't think of a thing I make that I'd want to put soy wax in. I'm a beeswax person. That's why I'm hoping someone comes up with something that gives me a :yay:THAT'S IT! moment.

I don't want to sell it, I want to use it. 40 pounds would be a lot of shipping for someone and to tell you the truth, I don't want to go through the hassle of packing that much up for shipping or breaking it into smaller portions and having to do multiple shipping. I have so much going on, business wise, until after Christmas. I only use EOs, no FOs for me. Do wickless "candles" support EOs? I'm not sure they would smell all that strongly. What is a wickless candle, anyway? How does one use it?

I have 40 pounds of soy wax from 2 years ago - 100% Soy container wax by Enchanted Lites (candlesoylutions.com). For the life of me, I was never able to figure out wicking.....tried so many different wicks, got wick suggestions from people that never worked and never got the desired flame. It just never worked out, I got too frustrated with the whole process and I have so many different pots in the fire that I never felt the desire to figure it out. So, since I won't be making candles (don't want to try any more wicks, thanks) and tarts to not sell at all where I live......what can I do with all that wax? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Oh. Soy. I lift my hat to you candle gals. I still have 40 lbs. of soy wax sitting around from 2 separate failed attempts at figuring out wicks. 20 years of soapmking....I thought "candles, no biggie!" Uh, biggie. Reeeeeaaaalllll biggie.

Just curious. If someone is trying to find a "realistic" scent, why not just purchase the essential oil and truly get the real thing?

Of course I don't ask each and every customer. But! If they volunteer certain health information, I can give them a heads up on whether my products would be helpful or harmful.

It's about ethics. Is a person so into the money that they'll take anyone's money no matter what or will they have decent ethics and morals. I'm not slamming anyone here, but I've seen some pretty unethical stuff happen in the "natural" body care business. I have refused people's business many times because what they wanted to buy from me I felt would not work for them or may harm them. I'm talking about herbal medicine, which is what I do.

The dsm shouldn't be the problem. You may be trying to SB with the ingredients too hot....this can cause separation. I HP and if I SB too hot, this sometimes happens when I put the pot in the oven. What I do is take it out of the oven, SB until mashed potato consistency and toss it back in the oven. Fixed. It also may be that your SB is not a good quality and is stirring at too slow a speed. There are lots of different SBs out there. I have 2 at the moment. One is good and stirs at a high rate of speed, the other, even stirring on the highest speed, just does not stir fast enough. It is only 200 whatevers. You may want to check your SB.

I would never sell a candle to anyone with COPD that has FOs in it. EOs may be ok, but not FOs.

I've bought from Liberty before, but the other was a better price and so I thought I'd get it from them. Waiting 2 months is over the top. I have been waiting since May for Soapmaking.com for a shipment of patchouli oil. I'm done waiting. They keep telling me that they are waiting to get it in. Any wholesale vendors of patchouli essential oil you like in particular?

Yes, it's a man thing. Craig uses the bar, I use a scrubby sheet. Men are trying to get the stink off. Women exfoliate.

EO...I bought a pound of it about 15 years ago back before there were all the DEA regulations on buying it. It smells so good!

Very nice! I make a bar with powdered loofah with sassafrass and tea tree EOs. The bars are too scratchy for anything but feet, in my opinion.

I bought one of those molds to try it and the soap came out so easily! And you're right...perfect size to fit the hand. I am now waiting for 3 more molds to come to me and then I'm going to start making lots of salt bars.

Trust me,,with a formula of basically one third coconut and two thirds olive, it is not going to be drying.

5 is my fave.

Again, I use Mal's, he pays for the compliance, I pay 3.7% per transaction through my local bank. It's not a ton of paperwork. It's no hassle.
