  1. I love it! Can you ship it to my place????
  2. Good idea, thank you! I'll let you know how it works.
  3. Would these work for glue left on glass bottles when relabeling? I have to relabel sometimes after taking products in and out of boxes after a few market weeks. I use weatherproof laser labels and the glue really sticks on my tincture bottles specifically for some reason. Alcohol doesn't work well, I tried nail polish remover yesterday...doesn't work. It's frustrating.
  4. www.stjohnsbotanicals.com Their retail prices are high, but you contact them and they'll send you their wholesale catalog, provided you have a biz license. Those prices are great. I get their vanilla 5x EO and it is out of this world. I do a vanilla milk bath with this EO and I scrape the seeds and chop the vanilla beans as well to add to the mix. Very very nice!
  5. Not yet. I didn't like the price or selection at Wally World. I'm going to go to Kohl's tomorrow. so........Warcraft, huh? (trying to turn the thread back around....)
  6. [quote name=OverSoyed;772115 That reminds me of a Dr. Phil episode where the husband and wife fought about money. She always wanted to spend' date=' and he always wanted to have sex. So he made a restaurant menu with food related items, with dollar amounts next to them. Slurpee $25 Rump Roast $300 The crazy things people will do for money! My first thought with this thread was....disgusting. No way would I ever be a paid whore for my husband. We're supposed to be partners, not a john and ho. Then I talked to him today on the phone when I was leaving Wal-Mart and told him I was looking for new hand towels because ours are just a mess. He got all in a knot about him being laid off and we can't just be spending money on hand towels when we have plenty and they're just fine. Fine to him means like his crotchless underwear. As long as his you know what isn't falling out, they're fine. I told him it was not like I was buying a refrigerator without consulting him, they're just hand towels for Pete's sake. It made me mad and I basically hung up. A couple of minutes later, I was driving home and thought about this thread. I called him back and said to him......so if I gave you a BJ for ever 2 hand towels I buy, how many hand towels should I buy? He cracked up and told me to buy as many hand towels as I wanted. I like the way this is going to work!
  7. libertynatural.com for my EOs. I've been using them for over a decade. Great quality, customer service, fast shipping. I use lavandin in my soap, french lavender in my medicinal products. Bulgarian lavender is not to my liking. at. all.
  8. It couldn't be easier! Make your soap just like you would CP, stick blend to a thick trace. Put pot in oven at 190 degrees for 1 hour. When it comes out of the oven, stir in EOs, powders, honey, etc. Couldn't be easier. Note that with HP....you don't get pretty swirls and you need to stir in your stuff and get it in the molds quickly as it really sets up as it cools. Bang the molds to get out the air bubbles and you can smooth out the top somewhat. One of my apprentices came over yesterday and got 11 log molds filled. Each of my logs cut into 24 bars. She did 6 different kinds of soap for me and I was able to get my comfrey calendula salve finished making, jarred and labeled and about 50 million other things done. I love my students!
  9. I make a soap I call Honey Girl. It's HP. I microwave the honey to get it really runny and then stir it in after the cook and after adding the EOs. I get a nice honeyish swirl with it and it sells like mad. It's a soap I made for my Mom for years.
  10. Did you keep those emails and the phone messages? That is good evidence for the cops if you end up needing it. I am so sorry that you're having to deal with all this. You poor thing! I really feel for you.
  11. So..........what a freak. Does she also go into Wally World 80,000 times a day and threaten them too? No way can a person force a business to sell to them. Gees Louise!
  12. Thanks so much!!! You'd think it would all be that easy if everyone played nice. I just got an email from my webgal. She says optioncart is letting her upgrade for free! Wow! Hopefully, all wull be well later today.
  13. You can go the route of being all wide eyed and concerned for their "safety in your booth" when you go to the organizers. Especially since they're in an out. We wouldn't want these little heathens to get hurt now, would we?
  14. It's beyond simple help, but thanks. In order to attach a blog directly to my website, my host upgraded the server which rendered some of option cart's processes void. My password to get into where I can add/edit products/categories, etc. no longer works and no one will take any responsibility or help me in any way. Calling Mal, we got directed to option cart. Optioncart tells me they can't do anything for me tech-wise because I am not the original purchaser of their program. Mal is. So, Mal sends me to optioncart. Optioncart shoots me right back to Mal and here we are on this merry go round. Optioncart is happy for me to upgrade at a financial cost to me that is more than I can afford at the moment. So, I'm stuck not being able to get into my admin page until I get a new cart program. Hence, this thread. I'm hoping to find a very good cart program that works for what I need.
  15. That's just nasty. You know what? I also did a fair in April here in Western Washington for years at a Tulip Festival. Always iffy weather. I finally quit when they started asking for more and more money each year for no more advertising or from what I could see any more benefit to the vendors. I stopped participating in this one 2 years ago. This year, my husband and I went as patrons. And you know what? It was all the same vendors selling the same stuff, same displays. It looked so tired out and after walking the whole venue, there was not one single thing I saw that I could do without. There were a few "new" people selling tacky junk. I guess they're beginning to have a hard time filling the spaces. I'm so glad I'm out of the street fair business. Now for me next trick........getting out of the holiday fairs and farmers markets. 13 years. I'm burnt out. I just want to teach. I have hired gals to do 2 of my markets this year, next year.....I hope to hire out for all of them.
  16. I also use Mal's e-com, but what I found out when talking to him and then being referred to optioncart is that he purchased optioncart for his use. He basically is a distributor of the cart, not the maker of the cart. Mal is always good at answering questions, but it's the optioncart itself where I'm having the problem and I have to go through them...optioncart.com sigh. Thanks, though!
  17. Maybe some, but not all. I had done a street fair about 2 1/2 hours away from where I live for 10 years, always polite, never complaining. Always with a smile on my face and going with the flow. They had a spur vendor on a street that t-boned the main street of booths. There were maybe 30 vendors on this spur, with the end of the spur opening up to the food booths. I tried the spur one year and did such great sales that I would ask for the same booth space. Always did well there. The last year I did the spur, one of the so called organizers who had a booth put her booth right in the access area which virtually blocked off the lane for people to see us and venture up our way. There were a few people who said something as she was setting up....she got this stubborn look and kept setting up. So.....very little traffic. The first night, I had a sales total of $50. This is a show where my sales usually were around $1500-1700. That night, someone vandalized my booth, tipping over my tables and causing the destruction of almost all my wares plus display. After paying for a hotel, all my food, all that gas plus a ferry ride, the organizers basically threw up their hands and said so what. They has stated that there would be security policing the fair during the nights, but it turned out that there was very little security. One organizer pulled me aside and asked if I would possibly send an email to the board of directors stating what happened with the one organizers booth and her attitude plus the vandalization of my booth. This organizer told me she put so many hours in and never got a single thank you and was so burnt out. So, I wrote this letter, being very factual, didn't point fingers or get snarky in any way. I asked if, at the very least, I could get my booth fee refunded. Not only did I never hear a single response to my email, I was not asked back to the fair. Good riddance to bad rubbish. That fair cost me so much money and time. Not only for the travelling expenses plus the booth fee and the loss of my products, I had to buy all new bottles, more label paper, ingredients for the products, make more that very week so I would have products for my farmers markets!!!!! I quit doing street fairs after that.
  18. What are you happy with/not happy with your cart? Who do you use? Right now I'm using optioncart and am having problems and need to change asap. Thanks in advance!
  19. What she said!!! I would do the exact same. No one needs to be a "victim" of someone else's competitiveness or insecurity. I've never heard of Mia Bella, either.
  20. I never ship a thing without calling in the cc first and getting approval on the charge. I have had to call people to get good credit card numbers....I let them know that I will hold the order until I hear from them with good payment. Simple. Learned this the hard way a long time ago.
  21. Whoa!People seriously do that!? Geez oh man!
  22. If the woman is going to raise heck, then most people will see that she is a PITA anyways. And to tell other customers why she was banned would be gossiping and perhaps that would be more of a worry to them than the woman actually being banned since if you talk about one woman, then would you talk about them as well. People get thrown out of stores all the time. I never worry about the odd one or two customers I needed to ban over the years. I have never once had a drop in business because of that. These are just my thoughts.
  23. If people ask for a certain scent or product, I tell them that I would be happy to do that and my minimum order for special orders is......and the price for that would be........ And they either order my minimum or walk away. And I don't "hold" anything. I tell them that I take cash, checks, credit and debit cards. And I have a sign that says, "No returns, all sales are final" and it's posted loud and clear, big and bold right on my pay station. Last year, after years of doing markets and fairs, I had a rash of people wanting to return things for no good reason...I didn't like the color, I didn't like the smell. wah wah wah. I put a stop to that with the sign.
  24. I have a former student who does one of the same farmers markets that I've been doing for 13 years. She'll come over to my booth, send people or her son over and next thing I know....my soap is in her booth and on her website. And she'll smile right in my face. I haven't said anything....yet. She has a reputation of "acting" like a space cadet/fairy girl who then screams brutalization if anyone calls her on her shit and frankly....I don't want to deal with that kind of immaturity. When people hang out in my booth, I will physically (gently) pull them by the arm and say......you're keeping customers out of my booth and this IS my day job and I have a ton of bills to pay. Thank you very much. Pictures? I don't allow them. Plain and simple. I tell people that (again) this is my day job and I don't come to their work and take pictures of them, I don't want them to take pictures of me. And how about people coming up asking for my sources? And acting all innocent when I tell them (AGAIN) that this is my day job and no way will I ever give out my sources. duh! What do I want to do? Bitch smack them all!
  25. It's your business. You can refuse to serve anyone for any reason. Haven't you seen those signs in stores? It's not like there's something illegal or immoral about not wanting a certain customer's business for any reason. And you don't have to lie, make something up or anything. It would be good to come up with a business sounding/looking refusal statement. If/when this person orders, then you can send that statement to them and then block their email and not answer any phone calls by them. They'll go away eventually.
