  1. Have to pour 2 dozen tarts of that yummy scent I mixed up for fall for a lady who fell in love w/ it burning at my GF's home show...... plus I am sold out of most of my scents in tarts, and I want to make more to bring along to a hayride/autumn gathering on Sunday! Also plan on going to the Pennsyvania Wolf Sanctuary tomorrow in Lancaster County w/ my boys...
  2. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/PA160003.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/PA160002.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/PA160001.jpg Grama was nice enough to post these pix for us... her post is on the previous page in this thread...there isn't a pic on TC's site...they are basically like press and seal covers, I believe...
  3. Aren't they pretty? And so nice and thick and heavy! I am getting a few dozen of the covers from Taylored and I am also going to put them in cello bags w/ a cute bow, or jute or something for Christmas... I think they'll be adorable! Question: Are you guys planning on putting a label on these? Or label the cover, or, like I am thinking of doing, the bag? Seems a shame to mark the jar up...
  4. Truly a piece of art, great job Judy!
  5. Ya know what guys, i am leaning toward what you guys are thinking....it seemed so weird to have that thing evaporate like that so fast... who knows....she may have sat it down for a quick minute and didn't realize when she picked it back up that she left the cup behind... :tiptoe: HenryK, thanks for posting that useful (scary!) information!
  6. Agree 100% to what's mentioned above, and also wanna throw out there to not forget the Vanilla Latte!!!! ( Alone and mixed w/ Pumpkin-YUM!) Her straight Raspberry is YUM too!!!!!
  7. Ya know, now that you mentioned that, this particular burner is small-ish, w/ TINY holes in the top...hmmmm, and yes, majorly sooted up in there now...but if she's used this warmer in the past w/ the metal cup teas, I wonder what the difference was??? And yes, Country Crafter, since that cup is GONE, I'd think it'd have to have been a poor match for the wax/ wick combo, don't you think? Besides, scary thought, but how much of the mass produced teas ARE adequately tested?? No one even knows where they come after they are taken from their package and are used... :rolleyes2
  8. A friend of mine brought her tart warmer into work to show me what happened last night when she lit the tealight for it...thank God I didn't make the tealight! Anyway, she said that in a matter of a few minutes, the wick melted straight down the center of the tealight, and the hot wax made a blow out in the side of the plastic cup it was in, and hot wax poured out all over her stove... On inspection, the plastic cup that held the tealight is GONE! I asked her if she was SURE it was there to begin with, she said she was certain, as she had mentally noted at the time she lit it that she wasn't sure where she had gotten one w/ a plastic cup instead of metal... What the heck could've happened? I know wicks will tunnel if they're too small, but she said this was a torch and smoked all over the place too....
  9. Hi Lori, I have only poured the Raspberry Brulee out of your list into 50/50, and it threw very well, very yummy strong creamy berry scent... The Apple Dumpling OOB reminds me of ST Baked Apple, the Yuletide OOB is a spicy mix of some sort... HTH!
  10. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59680 Hi Sunnie, Grama started a thread on them not long back that had a bunch of info...I just did a search on Libbey Jars... I cannot find a supplier that sells the 7 oz size, CS has the larger 15 oz ones... I am sorry you cannot find them locally, shipping for glass is killer.... :rolleyes2
  11. Yes, I am definately in a place of "if it aint broke, don't fix it". I have been testing in a few new jars lately, and am not thrilled w/ the soot I am seeing during some longer burns (which I KNOW some of my customers do) and the only thing I am toying with trying is maybe going natural...but ya know what? I swear, when I am pouring a lot of different scents, the color in the pot keeps me straight! (I do most of my pouring late at night...the old brain needs all the help it can get! lol! :rolleyes2 ) I just did a quick look-up about LX wicks and it doesn't sound like they soot/mushroom any less than CD's!
  12. CB, I started out using zinc's w/ the C&S 1275, and had little to no hot throw, without like a WAY long cure, which was unacceptable to me...after researching wicks, I learned that CD's burn hotter than zincs, and decided to try them. Besides mushrooms, which I DO hate, I have to say, I've never looked back. I am thinking, however, that in the off season, I MAY try out the LX series. See if I can get less mushrooming. But, on the whole, I am more than satisfied w/ the CD's. If I can't get a throw w/ them in my wax, I chalk it up to a scent that's just not going to co-operate with my formula, and that's that.
  13. ok, must be candle nose; I'll have to sniff the oils side-by-side...BTW, does it throw well in our wax?? Cause I love how Snowy Pine performs! Thanks Deb!!!
  14. A good friend, AND Snowy Pine fan, pointed out to me that she thinks Snowy Pine and Winter Blast from Wildfire are the SAME...they are curiously close, I have to agree, if not the same to my nose as well...anyone who has used both of these notice this??
  15. Ahh man, folks are loving this one!! Sold a bunch at my GF's open house yesterday! Oh! And for those of you interested in the pumpkin/coffee scent we were talking about before, check THIS out!... 2 parts Southern Scentsations Grandma's Pumpkin Log to 1 part Bert's Vanilla Latte, 3 day cure-----YUM YUM!!!!!
  16. I try and make sure I cool mine as slowly as possible. Sometimes I have cracks if I leave them out at room temp to cool too long, and also around the edge of the rim. I do use a heat gun to fill 'em in if it happens. Couldn't live without mine!
  17. OK, Got my lb. of Christmas Pear, and a few new ones in to try! Eggnog-Very nice OOB (these all are, so far, will post test results later...) Eggnog is a very true one, creamy, not too much spice or rum, can't wait to pour this one! Christmas Tree- VERY nice!!! Sweet pine, and very Christmas, hoping this one works for me, I have Snowy Pine, my old stand-by that I cannot go without, but would like another pine to carry for Christmas. If I get this to work, I will pass over the ICS Sugared Spruce, for now... Cranberry- I recall JS Cranbery to being similar to this in that it is a kinda cherry scent to my nose...nice, I prefer Spiced Cranberry...but it may become different in wax... Cherry-Sweet, true Cherry Lifesaver-strong! Redwood and Ceder-Love it! I told Sandi I will send her a bit of my sample, as I think this WOULD make a great mens soap! Very clean and nice! Sasafrass (is this spelled right??? lol!) This is like birch beer with a kick of something else. Never smelled this scent before, it an interesting one! Yuletide Medley- in Bert's words, this oil has a lot going on- have to get it in wax and burn it before I decide... Like I said, I will post burn results when I have 'em!!
  18. JS has a new Christmas Fig, I believe it's called, OOB I really like it!
  19. It's a safe enough one, right??? :rolleyes2 Gotta come up w/ more hiding places for all these little bottles!
