  1. I use an inkjet printer to print my labels which have only black text and no other color. I get a darker and clear print when I select the black ink only option as opposed to just hinting print and using all the colors to generate black. I hope that makes sense. Lisa
  2. My customers love Vanilla Hazelnut Cappuccino by Southern Scentsations. I make a scrubbie soap bar with ground coffee poured into a Martin java bar mold. It's great in candles too! Lisa
  3. How much fragrance oil and colorant are you using per pound of soap? I've had my MP soap sweat when I used more of certain FO's than the base could handle. Some FO's I use way less than the amount I can per pound. Lisa
  4. I usually buy them in quantity (750) at a time. But my supplier has increased that to 5000. Does anyone know of a supplier that deals in the 250-750 range? Thanks, Lisa
  5. Oatmeal is used for it's "scrubbie" texture. It's great used in a kitchen soap and the baby oatmeal combined with a soothing scent like lavender makes a divine bath soap. Blessings,Lisa
  6. I get mine at www.lotioncrafter.com. They come in 2.5, 5, and 8ml sizes. And Jenny delivers great service too! Blessings, Lisa
  7. I like the overall look of your site. Great pictures too. Like the color scheme. That said here's a couple of my thoughts...The tag line on the home page on the far right is in a cursive font that's small and difficult to read. I would change bath and body goods to bath and body products, it flows better, imho. I would also move the lines of your scent of the month closer together. The "crunch" part of the scent name gets lost in the greenary of the picture. Good job! Blessings, Lisa
  8. sks-bottle.com is a good place to start. They have a sample container section and you can get an idea of styles you like. They have a $50 min so if that's too much to start, once you know what you like you can then try googling for that specific item. Blessings, Lisa
  9. I mix SFIC bases too. I have found that I can achieve a much more natural look using 80% low sweat clear + 20% opaque (goatsmilk, low sweat white, shea butter, etc). It gives the combined bases a more translucent look and when I introduce color I can then get away from the totally pastel look a solid white/offwhite base would give. Check out http://www.emporiumnaturals.com/default2.asp?cat=Herb+Blends+for+Color for some great herb blends to add natural color. Blessings, Lisa
  10. Also the shelf life according to one supplier I purchase SFIC from in large quantities is 1 year. I sell enough soap for that not to be an issue, but still you don't know how old it is. Lisa
  11. I use the baby oatmeal for gentle exfoliation and I throw in just a little of the corsely ground old fashioned oats for looks. Lisa
  12. Her Desert Honey has more floral notes. It's very nice in bath, body, and candles.
  13. Southern Sensations is great! I order my wax, GF415, from her too. Winter Hug threw great but was too sweet for my customers. Now Vanilla Pumpkin Pie is another story and very popular. Along with Spiced Cranberry and Fresh Fruit Slices. Lisa
  14. I get my GF 415 from Southern Sensations in Flat Rock, MI. I use eco wicks from Bittercreek North for all my container candles. Blessings, Lisa
