  1. Hi ! I use the Ecosoy PB ( pillar blend) soy wax and it is wonderful and the best I think for tarts. I have tried the CB ones and prefer the Ecosoy. It has great scent throw and releases so easy from the molds !! Good Luck !
  2. Hi, I use the Ecosoy wax (pillar blend) and love it for tarts, I also know someone who uses the Ecosoy CB advanced all the time for tarts and she prefers that -I don't know if she uses any additives but I don't with the ecosoy PB and they turn out great !!!!!!!!
  3. I found that stiring is very very important as mentioned above ! I make tarts only - soy. Also, something that is not mentioned much is to shake the bottle of fragrance oil before you pour it to measure it. That made a BIG difference for me.

  5. Hi, I read the post below that says one should always cut skin safe fragrance oil but I am wondering does anyone know why ? Will it irritate the skin or something? Has anyone had any experience using it directly on the skin or is this hear say ??? I read where Perfume is just cut with alcohol which I am sure evaporates immediately when sprayed or put on the skin leaving the FO directly on the skin - right ???? Would appreciate any replies ! Thanks !

  7. I always put my tarts in the freezer for anywhere from 5-15 minutes and they pop out. I am trying a different soy wax soon. It is a "pillar" or container soy way and I am thinking the tarts will pop out easier without having to put them in the freezer.

HI Toni, Yes it does, I have some from Snowtop ( they went out of business) and the company that took over some of their supplies only sells the polyEtheline ones which - contrary to some opinions they do leak the scent - I know I have tired both. So I was just wondering if anyone knows who sells the polypro. bags. I like the zip top.
  10. Hi, Does any one know where I can get zip-lock small bags to put tarts in that are made of Polypropline --- NOT polyEthelene ? Thanks!
  11. The bags are made of polyproplene - they are for food storage so I don't think they absorb scents. I don't think the vacuum is strong enough to hurt the tarts shape - there is a "no crush" button on it if it is. Thanks for your opinions - I think I will try a few and see what happens. I don't sell the tarts anyway, it is a hobby for me and I give some to friends. I would like to make a lot and store them long term but I know in the regular containers - air gets to them and would eventually cause them to lose their scent - this is air tight so maybe it would work. I will post sometime again if it does. I just thought maybe someone has already tried it.
  12. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has tried of knows if storing tarts in "Foodsaver Vacuum Sealed bags" would work for long term storage of tarts ? I was thinking they would keep longer than in bags or containers? Let me know if anyone knows if this would work. Thanks !!
  13. All I do is tarts and I don't sell them - make them for myself and friends and family. I use tiny muffin pans that are sold in stores for molds - they make a one ounce tart. I use 100% soy wax with no additives. I add 1oz FO per lb. Most of the time I melt at least 2 tarts at once - sometimes 3. I package them in bags of 2-3. They are easy to make and safer for the environment etc, they are not putting any "soot" into the air as even a soy candle puts some. That is why I stick with tarts - plus - I like the fact that I can change scents often without spending as much as I would on a candle. I don't think I will ever try making candles -- too much work - ha. Good luck and hope you enjoy making them too.
  14. Hi ! Welcome to the world of Tart Making! I just love making tarts and have no urge to mess with candles and wicks! I have been making tarts since last Spring. You need to use a 17-25 watt warmer - otherwise it is not hot enough to melt the tarts. I use 25 watt which is not hotter than a light bulb. I use any glass container and never have had a problem with them breaking. I guess if it was a real thin glass it might not work. If you want, get the small pyrex bowls and they are really safe because they can go in the oven - you can get them at grocery or WM stores. I also use old small glass bowls that I find at garage sales etc. I was recently give a bunch of punch bowl cups free and they work fine too. I only use soy to make my tarts. I don't know what that warning is about using veg. wax in glass. I found coffee cup warmers - 25 watt at WM with the cup for 2.50. The stores have some that are only 7-10 watts that are cheap but they do not get hot enough. I also melt candles with wicks on my warmers and have never had a problem - so you can melt them pour out the wax when the fragrance is gone and use them to melt tarts in too. Hope all this helps ! You don't need those fancy tart warmers unless you want them or any fancy bowls - just be sure the glass is thick and not thin or that might break. I leave my warmers on all the time during the day but turn them off at night.
