  1. Beautiful soaps!!! Love the colors and the scents sound beautiful too!!! What kind of log mold is that?
  2. OMG both are beautiful but I love love love that last one.
  3. Thank you! Today they're hard as a rock and omg so heavy. Same sized bars as I usually make, but twice the weight. I still get some give though when I press really hard, so not going to test a sliver yet.
  4. Wow that's interesting. Good to know, thank you CareBear.
  5. They're based on at least 50% coconut oil (many people make them 100% coconut oil). If you look in the tutorial section, Grumpy Girls is a good guideline recipe. I just made them last night and used her tut and some advice someone gave me, and other information I researched, as a guide.
  6. Beautiful save!!! You'd never know the trouble that batch gave you, from looking at them! Love the look of them!!!
  7. Thank you! SatinDucky, they were really fun to make. I haven't used one yet, and hope they have the effect they're supposed to have with the like stone and creamy thing. You just have to give yourself time so you can pull them to cut much sooner. You can't just walk away from them till the next day. They really were a lot of fun.
  8. Cool thanks! I'll be sure to refer back to this thread when I try it!
  9. I bet they smell great! Beautifully smooth HP soaps! Amazing too, how you get that swirl in HP. I think I'm going to try HP soon. Curious to give it a shot.
  10. Yeah the flakes are like thin...well flakes. Just picture almost like liquid dye, left to dry out and scraped with a scraper. They melt pretty easily in C-3. I tried just two colors to see if I like them, from my local supplier that I can walk in and pick up from. Liquids are easier, but if I can save on shipping and make something work, all the better. They're not bad to deal with. I get them from http://www.thenaturalartisan.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=dye
  11. Yeah it does look pumpkin color!!! Can't wait to see it cut! What's the highlight oil of this one, for face use?
  12. They're in the gallery right now. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69666 I had 40 oz of oils and 38 oz of salt full water, and they set up enough to cut at like 1 1/2 hours. They're still softish today though. I really could have taken a water discount with this one. I had to stick blend it to get trace.
  13. Thank you! The bars look bigger than they are. They're actually like 3 to 3.5 oz bars. I started testing using 45 oz oil for my molds. This one and the salt bar one is 40 oz's. I could bump them down to 30 oz and they'd still be pretty chunky. They seem pretty good size so far, to fit in hand. Just right. I know I'll regret it though, if I get a batch that just stinks one day God forbid! LOL
  14. I use both liquid and some dye flakes as well that I get locally. So far, both seem to be very easy to work with for me, in C-3.
  15. Beautiful swirls! Can't wait to see it cut!
  16. Thank you! I'm pretty proud of these because of the swirls. I look at them, and just can't believe "I" did this! LOL They really weren't hard at all to make. The bars came out pretty chunky too, considering I actually lessened my oils a bit for this mold, to compensate for added room the salt might take, in my mold. I picked one up before and they're so heavy too. Barbara thank you for the advice you gave me that time on the salt bars. I used the method you mentioned, and it worked beautifully! Thank you!!!! I haven't tried to wash with a sliver of this yet. Going to give it a few days. The colors are exactly as they were when I poured them too, which is nice.
  17. No sooner than 6 weeks though Angel91805! LOL Thank you! And good to know I'm not alone in the no gel thing and it's not a big deal. That itp swirl thing is great!!! I can't wait to play with that again.
  18. Thank you!!! Wouldn't ever be able to do this stuff if it wasn't for all of you and this place. I'm really enjoying the soap. Love the candles, but the soap is just something special when I make it. Really loving it.
  19. I couldn't stop myself. I tried, but the urge overtook me. LOL These are scented Peak's Cucumber Melon which is great smelling for a cucumber melon scent. Had to take a picture of the chaise message/heating pad I used because it was just too funny. Boy, I'm never going to try and handle these with no gloves on ever again. I got bit on the side of my pinky on the first bar. Ran to wash with a hunk of my lard soap really fast and calmed it down. Little red but not bad but ouch. LOL I didn't get a gel, but it was set up enough to cut. Wanted to get it cut before I went to bed to avoid any problems. I used a combo of liquid colors and pops and did an itp swirl, with the rest poured on top and swirled.
  20. OK thank you! So I'll take a peak at 11 pm then. Thank you!
  21. I got a pound of FbD's with the gift certificate I won in the egg hunt. I chose a traditional fragrance. Oatmeal Milk and Honey. Was a dream to soap cp at room temp. Fragrance is very yummy smelling. I read where others liked it because it's not almond like and it's not. It's a delicious scent and soaped like a dream for me, even with a 35% fixed lye. I didn't do any swirls with it though. I also cp soaped Peak's Cucumber Melon. OMG very yummy smelling. Same as FbD's, doesn't run away at room temp. I made salt bars with it, and even had to use the sb on it. Two great soap fo's so far. Will post back after a while with results on how they hold their scent as well too if anyone is wondering.
